The course is in great shape right now. They punched the greens about a month or two ago and they are smooth and fun to putt. They will never be fast because of the slopes in them, but they roll nicely. Fairways are in great shape and bunkers are nice. The cart girl was around at least 3 times and the 19th hole has some great food. This course is a lot of fun and has plenty of challenge, especially if the wind blows. Worth the fees

I really enjoy playing this course and the staff is always very pleasant and accomodating. Condition of the course is also very nice. There are a couple holes I am not too thrilled about, but overall a very enjoyable good track. My only complaint is that the greens, while good, were way too slow for my taste, otherwise, no complaints!

The course in the best shape I have seen it since it opened. 1/2 the greens are punched, but it makes no difference because the greens are so large that you are almost never putting through the punch... Continue »

Fairways are fast and tight and in great shape. Fun layout with lots of challenge. Ignore the planes and the wires above, Most courses in california have issues like these.

The good - the conditions generally were excellent. Greens were firm and very fast, fairways were great to hit off, tee boxes were very good and sand quality was excellent. Staff were friendly and pace of play was good.

The bad - it is overpriced. $100 is way too much for this course, range balls not included either. Carts only, I personally dislike courses that won't allow you to walk. To be fair walking would be impossible here as some holes have a 500 yard gap between the green and next tee box. There are power lines everywhere on the course and planes are constatntly taking off over your head which is a little distracting.

The layout is a little contrived which is not surprising given the terrain. There are lots of eleveation changes throughout which makes distances difficult to judge. Many greens have several tiers so if you aren't on the correct tier you can be faced with some treacherous putts. I think the back 9 has better holes and the back to back par 5's gives you a chance to get some momentum going.

It is definitely a course for the more skilled player, there is plenty of trouble on this course, the wind is tough to judge and it's easy to lose balls.

Overall, I would play here again but not for anything approaching the regular green fee $. (Fortunately, I got a free round. :))

Teed off at 11:20 overall guys in the pro shop and starter were nice. I knew we were in trouble when the group ahead of us decided to play the black and every single one of them put their balls into the hazard. Bottom line is these guys shouldn't have been playing the tips. I played them and I consider myself a decent golfer and I struggled back there. There was the Santa Ana winds today but it seemed to only come into affect on a couple of holes, it was a relatively calm day. As for the conditions of the course I was a little disappointed. I thought the fairways were rock hard and the grass was a little patchy. I thought it was a little brown too but considering the winter conditions I can live with it. Tee boxes were ok. The greens didn't look all that great but they actually rolled pretty decent and quicker than what they appear to the eye. This was my first time playing the course so I really relyed on the GPS on the cart which for the most part was accurate, there were a couple of times which I hit some shots based on the distance on the GPS and ended up flying the green. Also the greens and fairways have some quirky slopes. There is no rough to speak of, basically if you keep it out of the environmental areas you should be able to score. You really need to have played here before or rely on the GPS. I think this is a course that a little knowledge helps a lot, there are certainly some shots had I known now what I didn't know then it may have changed my club selection. I paid $70 for the round and finished in 5 hrs 15 minutes but we seemed to wait on every shot on the back nine especially. It's certainly not worth the rack rate and I have mixed feelings about paying this fee with these conditions at this pace. I'd give it another try as another course but I'd probably only play it a couple of times a year.
