I recommend using moderate bounce on one's wedge from the sand. The sand is wonderful but my 16 degree bounce 54 sand wedge came out too perfectly. I am not used to such perfection.

Played as single late Tuesday morning under perfect conditions using GK voucher. Found clubhouse, starter, cart service & maintenance staff all very nice and friendly. Did get quite warm but had plenty of water and leisurely 3:35 round. With the long ride out took time using premium facilities including driving range, chipping area and practice green.

2nd time plAying. This course can be tough. The greens were great same goes for the rest of the course. No complaints great service. Though I don't know if I'd do the drive there and back in one day again. Pop was right around 3 hrs as a single. also played the 29th 830ish Finished my day at the Tom Weiskopf course at PGA West. I've only heard bad reviews about this course but it wasnt as horrible as people say.

A little late with my review due to a temporary schedule change.

As impressed as I was on my December visit I was even more impressed this time. The fairways have filled in nicely as has the rough yielding more consistent lies, meanwhile the greens were slightly more receptive. The service here is outstanding and the little perks are great (ProV1 range balls, laser range finder at each range station). Also, the practice green speed was the same as those on the course which is a rare but appreciated perk.

Course layout is excellent with a great variety of holes. Very fair but also challenging - if you try and play to your handicap (from the correct tees) you can be successful, but the lower your handicap the more difficult it will get.

Mike is an excellent host and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended.

A week has past and I have had a chance to reflect on all the positive reviews as well as my personal/professional experience working with Rams Hill Golf Club on our outing. To me this was a special day I want to repeat over and over again with future outings. A fantastic layout, exceptional playing conditions, well organized, over-the-top service, wonderful prizes and as always a great group of people to share the day with. If a group organizer is reading this review, you can’t go wrong with Rams Hill Golf Club. From a player’s standpoint, the course is spectacular with lush firm conditions and manicured beautifully. Every hole is interesting and challenging yet none of the course I would consider unfair. Lots of risk-reward type holes, beautiful desert scenery, excellent practice facilities and club house. Greenskeeper.org will be back to Rams Hill Golf Club with another #gkplays outing for sure. Thank you again to everyone that came and our great sponsors.

Got to play in the GK event and what a course. Hard to state how impressed I was with the conditions, layout and beauty of the Rams Hill facility. Driving range was very nice. The range finders were a nice touch and something I'd never seen before. The Course was challenging and in exceptional condition. Nice tee boxes, great fairways, some tough rough, good sand traps and really interesting/challenging greens. I spent $70 to play a course the week before and Rams Hills for the extra money was a millions times nicer. Thanks to the 3 other guys, Andrew, Kevin and Benjamin, in the group, even though I was tough to see... :) Awesome fun! I definitely plan to play here again and recommend it to anyone that wants an exceptional golf outing. Top flight Facility- A++

I was one of the lucky 36 to tee it up at the GK Plays this past Sunday.

There are two points that I would like to make regarding Rams Hill. First, I think that even at the rack rate WITH taking the drive in mind, Rams Hill is still a great value. It is absolutely a destination course, hands down, no question. The fact that they support GK and you can play for $90 is a no brainer. That's an insane deal, even with a near 2 hour drive (next time I'd totally make plans to stop in Julian for dinner or something on the way home).

Second, the hospitality we received was the best I have ever received. Not only was the staff attentive and professional, there was a feeling that they genuinely cared about their guests and the experiences we had. My hats off to them and a big THANKS for creating a memorable experience.

Without sounding like a broken record from previous reviews, the conditions were immaculate. I don't think enough has been said about how well the course handled the amount of rain we had in the days leading up to the event. Crazy how well everything played, including the greens which even though they showed signs of being softened by the rain, maintained incredible surfaces to play on.

As for the layout, I can't really remember playing 18 holes that I enjoyed more. It's rare that you get a course that plays as a signature "course" rather than try and wow you with a couple fancy holes that detract from a handful that are more or less forgettable. I give this course the highest compliment I possibly can and that's to say that I could play this thing everyday for the rest of my life and never get bored. The shot values are incredible, so many options and the green complexes are super interesting without being gimmicky.

The final touch for me was the awesome setting for food and drinks after the round. Great views, cool fire pits and good service. Such a cool place.

I will definitely be heading back soon and often. Next time I'm staying at one of the resorts so I can get more than 18 in.

Played GK plays event Sunday 1-10-2016. Awesome course… Just awesome. Perfect tee boxes, fairways are nearly perfect, greens are smooth and fast, bunkers are great shape. As everyone else has said, Rams Hill was in great condition and most beautiful course I have played to date.
