The greens were the best I have seen them @ Rustic since before spring aereations. Many fairways had severe brown spots they were watering and trying to save, but were otherwise lush. Traps look better maintained every visit to Rustic. They had cleaned/cleared out several areas that used to have brush/weeds and it's now nicely maintained.

Played here abt a week ago, and the tee boxes/fairways are in pristine condition. This course has a nice links layout, and the green fee is reasonable. The greens were a bit slow, but rolled decently.... Continue »

The greens here use to be fast, smooth and firm, now there just slow slow and bumpy.The greens at the la city courses are much better. Overall conditions of the course is still very good, but greens are horrible. Probably wont play here again, unless i hear postive feedback about the greens. Still a pretty good deal for the price

Played twilight this afternoon 7/14. Greens slow for rustic and rolling decent. There was some light sand on some of the greens. Fairways great in some spots and dry in others. Bunkers in good shape. No wind today made for a good day for scoring. Played in 4 hours 30 minutes walking the tips. Great customer service, nice practice range with short game area. Still the best value in town during the week.

Played Rustic today. Only the third time I've played it and it's definitely a course where local knowledge would be beneficial. A couple of times I was aiming not where I should've been. That being said I shot very well. The positive things about the course. Challenging design. 5 par 4's 430+ from the blues, some forced carries and lots of trouble areas. It's also very unique. I've never played another course like it. The one BIG negative is the greens are about the worst greens I've ever played. Bumpy and slow. Considering that lag putting is so important here with the big aprons green maintenance seeme like it should be a priority. I play some lower end courses and even courses like Mountain View in Santa Paula have nicer and smoother greens. One player in our group stated after the round that if the next time he played the course the greens were in that condition that he wouldn't come back.

Large surfaces with shaved fringe/fairway surrounding many greens. Makes the greens appear larger from the fairway...hit a "good" shot only to find yourself on a tight but bumpy lie.

Great value, woth every penny! This is a course that everyone can play, it's flat and forgiving with laqrge fairways and plenty of rough for errant shots. The greens could be a little faster and the sand traps could be better kept. Worth a trip to try it out - play in the AM and avoid the afternoon winds....
