Played 10-27 AT 2pm start time, This was my first time out at this course. So many people had recommended this course, and it was a good recommendation. This is a must play if you haven't got out here. The front nine is different than the back. Makes for and entertaining round of golf. I enjoyed the scenery of this course. It is out there away from civilization. No houses or streets around the course. Kind of reminded me of Cross creek in Temecula, and Angeles national in a few spots. This is a wide golf course, it looks from the tee like any shot will make the fairway,but you do have to be specific on aiming your tee shot as there are small pot bunkers and waste bunkers, and dry creek ravines all over the place ready to swallow up your ball. The tee boxes had a course sand all over them, which was a little distracting. The fairways were very nice to hit off of. You see the big divots of grass go flying, like on TV, but you didn't chunk your shot. Most of the cheap courses I play the dirt below the grass is harder and it doesn't react the same. The greens are huge and are the most undulated I have ever seen. They held incoming shots very well and rolled true and medium fast, if you could figure out the break. Course knowledge would help in this area. We played the black tees with two walking and two riding and finished in just over 4 hours. We were being pushed the whole day as everyone was trying to finish before dark. I would take more time on the greens lining up your shot. The layout was great in that you have five par 5 and five par 3 all different yardages, from 127 to 216. The fives were true 3 shot holes. maybe two were reachable, but big hits would be required. Some short par 4's and some looong par 4's. I will definitely be back to this one. It is a great golf experience and so worth the drive a green fees. Take along some good buddies and you will have a great day!
