Played 6-4 early morning teed of at 6:40 done by 10, $32 to walk. tee boxes in really good shape, most of them look like they have been re-done. Fairways where a mixture of real good lies to clumpy lies and some bare spots. Rough was not that long with a lot of bare dirt. Found one sand trap that had very soft sand and real thick. Greens where running medium/fast and bumpy, with inconsistency in firmness some hard and others soft.

Played on Monday 11:26 tee time. The Starter got us out an hour earlier! They have on onsite repair center next to the driving range, grips and other repairs done in minutes! The course is in fair shape. The greens still need about two weeks to come back from aeration but rolled out pretty well. Just a little bumpy at times. Fairways had some patchy spots and is need of some attention, just some water would do it. I think this course will be prime for late spring, and summer golf. Looking forward to it.

Played Simi Hills on Sunday, 2/10/13. Very cold morning...frost on the mats at the range. Brrrr! Overall, for this time of year, the course is in good shape. POP was about 4:10. The greens are lush and receptive. Once it got a bit warmer, the speeds picked up and they were breaking a lot. The greens were a bit more bumpy than they have been in the last few months, but not so bad that it caused problems. Putts still held their lines well. The tee boxes are all level, and the fairways are in good shape for winter time. The rough has taken the brunt of the weather on this course. It's pretty sparse with many bare spots. All in all, Simi Hills is a great course. The people are very nice as well. In the muni price range, this is my favorite course right now. I'll be back often.

Played today. Course is in decent condition, typical for any course around this caliber/price. Fairways had good lies throughout even if there were a few brown spots and more divots than there usually are at courses like this one. Rough beside the fairways were almost nonexistent if you factored in length and lushness together, but around the greens it was near perfect. Sand traps were saturated but playable-there was standing water in one trap I was in. Greens should be smoother-lots of pitchmarks and bumpiness in general. Hole #6 (which was being remodeled last time I was here) looks much nicer than the rest of the course until you get to the green, which has bare spots filled with sand and large patches with the wrong type of shaggy fairway grass. It could look better but it isn't the worst condition I've seen it (probably because of the rain). Tee boxes were in very good condition even on par 3's.

Played here on the "last day of the world" ;) Over all the course is in great shape! Greens were rolling fairly fast and true. Only the sixth hole had some strips of green replaced on it. This green has always suffered from some kind of fungus or something, but the rest were in great shape. POP was very slow which is unusual for the times I've played here. Fairways are in typical winter shape and had a slight roll to them. Tee boxes were a little beat up and the Blue/Black tee box markers were only about 3 to 3.5 Club (driver) lengths apart which I felt a little restrictive but playable. The sand was in fair to good condition, soft in some places and a little crusty from recent rains in others. The staff is always friendly and they have a very nice little patio for an after round cigar and beer. Go Play and Happy Holidays!

Played today at 6:30, was done by 9:30. This is one of my favorite tracks, maybe because I played here on the High School team. Well this just in.....They have sanded the greens! This did make them a little slower than usual. August is a known time of year for slower greens any way. They rolled true and held shots, but would have liked to have known before I went. Any way the fairways were decent for this time of year, some bare spots around the edges of the greens but all in all it was a fun and quick round! No wind and just the right temp. Oh ya,,,they were mowing the collar of the greens and the guy forgot to put in the flag at 14 but no big deal.

Nothing about this course stood out great or bad condition wise. Everything was in ok to good shape. You will have perfect grass in the fairway with dry thin spots elsewhere in the same fairway. They have added some black tees out here since I last played. The par 3 8th is now 220 yards. Needless to say that was my worst hole of the day. Number 9 is quite a bit longer. Number 11 from the black tee is a very demanding hole now. Overall, good , fun layout, that won't break your piggy bank.

Have not played Simi in 3 years or so. Played this week and was very disappointed with the conditions. We played the front nine and got in almost every hole on the back nine missing holes #14 and #15. The poorest areas of the course were the chipping areas around the greens and the fairways. If you miss a green at Simi you are punished with the type of lie and grass you might encounter chipping the ball. The fairways were brown and dormant and balls were running forever with the driver. Was in one sand bunker and it was firmly packed sand that was in decent condition. The tee boxes were very thin and level for the most part. Many of the par 3 tee boxes were thin and chewed up a bit. The greens were very fast and firm and had a hard time holding iron shots especially those with little or no spin. Our group enjoyed the pace of play playing super twilight during the week but still had to wait on numerous groups ahead of us even with the sun setting. Simi tends to favor the draw off the tee on the front nine and the fade off the tee on the back nine. I would tend to say that it is an interesting par 71 layout that I would venture out more often if not for the current conditions and the amount of people that come to play here...I cannot recommend this course due to the current conditions at this time.

Once in a while I come down and visit here and gotta say it has been a better course now than before.

The fairways are nicely groomed and running well with the greens on the firm but not to a point where it isn't receptive condition. I've got to say it wasn't as smooth as it could be and it did not always roll true in some of the putts, but it was ok.

What's not so ok is the time it took our round. MAN, five and a half hours!!!

If you are planning to do something after your round, you need to allow for some time. This course is and has always been very slow with some exceptions of being here first few out.

Nevertheless, it's still a fun little course.
