Got out Saturday 9/1 ~ 7:30 and finished in ~ 4 hours. Course was set up for their "impossible open" on 9/2 and was in generally very good shape. Greens were soft and rolled fast & smooth. Rough was grown up 3-5" in most spots. Well worth the money when using the Costco “Live golf” voucher and another $20 ($65 for the round).

The last time I played Tierra Rejada was last year when a bunch of us GK’ers tried out their Players short course. This time around I played the blue tees with sixpez and rgm2525. We were first off at 6:00am Tuesday morning and finished in just over 3 hours. Super time guys, thanks!

I thought the course was in great shape. Being it was 6:00am on a day where temperatures were estimated to be 100, I was not surprised to see how wet the conditions were. However I did not experience any casual water and it did not affect play much. I thought the greens were excellent, running medium-fast, soft and smooth. The fairways were mostly lush with only a few thin spots providing great lies. The rough was cut low (2 inches) yet mostly lush with some blends of different grass but overall very playable and easy to escape. The sand traps I experienced were all wet but appeared to have good quality sand and ranked-groomed properly. The tee boxes, although quite a few not level due to the nature of the course being built into the hillsides, were mostly lush and cut tight.

The views from the course in some places are spectacular, like holes 4, 7 & 8 and other times very mediocre for example on the back nine. The layout is very hilling and target minded on the first 11 holes and then again on 17 & 18. Accuracy is essential here off the tee and a strong short game required for the many severely undulated greens. I find some of the holes fantastic and other too quirky. Overall I do like the layout. It’s very unique, challenging and entertaining.

The course has excellent practice facilities with a grass range, short game sand-chipping and superb practice putting green. The clubhouse is rather small but nice with all the amenities. My only big complaint is the lack of water stations on the course. The course needs to add a couple drinking water stations with one on hole 6 by the tee and on hole 13 near the restroom. Plan your drinking consumption accordingly because in the summer it can get hot out there.

played 8-7 with johnnygk and sixpez early morning.course is in nice shape. tee boxes are fairly level with good grass even on the three pars. fairways are in nice shape a few brown spots and a little long so not much roll but very nice lies. rough is not that long and easy to hit from. was in one sand trap with nice sand but wet from early morning watering. greens where very nice rolling good with medium/fast speed. layout is through the hills with good elevation changes on the front side and a little more flat with parallel fairways on the back. they have lowered there prices for the summer to $49 prime time with a cart and $40 and $30 for there twilight. for these prices course is definitely worth playing.

Played out here yesterday (8/7) with rgm2525 and JohnnyGK. Had a lot of fun out there as we were the first group off the tee at 6am. We let one single play through us on the front, but otherwise were not pressed by any groups behind. Perfect pace at right around 3.5 hours.

The course was in nice shape overall. Fairways were lush and nice to hit from, though they were watering heavy in the morning so it was a bit soggy for us. Rough was nice. Not too deep or punishing. Greens were in excellent shape. Soft and receptive from all the watering, but super smooth and quick on top. Very tricky with all the undulation out here. Tee boxes mostly level, not bad considering how the course is built into the hillsides. I hit into a number of bunkers and the sand was very damp in the morning.

I know a lot of people dislike this course and I do understand why, though I thought it was a fun course that had a lot of aspects I enjoyed. It does have its quirks with a few overly funky holes, but I don't mind something a little different from time to time. Makes you think about strategy on your shots in places, but the layout is actually more forgiving that it looks. Plenty of forced carries, but pretty wide landing areas. Greens are tricky with lots of undulation and quick speeds. I enjoyed the dramatic elevation shifts and scenic views on the front nine. Back nine a little less exciting once it flattens out. Probably wouldn't pay full rack rate here, but for the right deal (as in free birthday round), it's a fun departure from the norm.

played on 5-31 afternoon. This is my second round of the day. Taking advantage of my birthday rounds. Play on your birthday and just pay for cart (15 dollars). Great section on greenskeeper.org that has a list of birthday discounts. Rating of the course is low due to aeration that was done recently. Besides the greens, course is in good shape. Not many people on the course due to 85 degs plus temperature and aerated greens. Beware of rattlesnakes if your looking for balls. Almost stepped on a 3-4 foot baby rattlesnake on hole 11 par 3.

played 5-15 on there twilight tuesday all day play for $50.Out at 6am didnt finish 36 till 3pm course was playing slow for my tastes. tee boxes had good grass on them with minimal divot damage on three pars only problem was you had to search to find a level footing on all eighteen boxes. Fairways where lush with good lies. Rough is not that thick here and easy to hit out of. Sand traps firm packed sand but a little thin. Greens where rolling good with medium to fast speed a little inconsistent from green to green. Only complaint about the greens is that they are to soft. You could see every foot print from groups in front and a ball with just a little spin was coming back 15 to 20 feet. Costumer service here is always good.

Played on Sunday, January 29, with a couple of foursomes. Price was right at $50 each, or $200/foursome. However, we thought we might have only 7 instead of 8 players. The guy at the counter immediately tells us the second group of 3 will have to pay the full $200, they will have to go out later, and he does not have anyone to add from a waiting list. Hey, we know the terms of the deal, but the guy's attitude really bothered me. Well, we had 8 players after all. The course is in great shape, especially for this time of year. The biggest problem is many of the tees are not very level. Some were being worked on and were not being used, so they are working on it. Greens were on the soft side, fast, and rolled true. Fairways and rough were lush. The layout was challenging with blind shots and forced carries to narrow landing areas.

greens are in great shape right now firm with medium to fast roll and very true.

Played today @ 12:30 pm. Arrived 10 minutes early and the starter let our twosome out. Every Tuesday, they run a promo that charges Twilight Rate all day. We also found out after our round that replays are free too! Course was in good shape. Greens were true and running between 9 and 10. Fairways were mowed and in good shape with patches of yellow and a few areas with GUR. The rough was in good shape. Front 9 plays with many blind shots and elevation changes. The back nine is much flatter and straight forward. Hole #11 is a beautiful par 3 with views of Reagan Library. Many holes here have spectacular views of Moorpark and Simi Valley. Cart girl came by 4 times. We enjoyed our round and look forward to coming back on Tuesdays!
