Played 6-18-17 with Kviser and Mdames teeing off a little before 1pm and finishing around 5:45 with some waiting on almost every hole. Tee boxes were in nice shape, level and mostly lush. Fairways were very nice with good coverage, descent roll out, and a good surface to hit from. Rough was in good shape not too long but thick in some areas. Was in one fairway bunker that had a nice layer of thin sand. Greens were in great shape semi firm rolling true and fast. Overall conditions of the course are well above average. Would recommend playing here.

We played Sunday afternoon as part of the GK Cup 9 Championship. It was a great venue for the event as the temps were around 75 degrees and the course was in super shape for the Oxnard City Championship. The only negative was the City Championship allowed golfers to play Hole 18 down the fairway for Hole 1. More than a couple of us thought that was very risky and it did slow down play a little at first. The greens were running 13+ and the rough was shaggier than normal. A couple of areas were quite penal if you were unlucky enough to find them (right behind Hole 13, for instance, was a deep grass bunker). We were a threesome and all walked with push carts. It was a good workout, especially the few big hills. The sand looked good throughout the course. I hit from a fairway bunker on Hole 12 and there was an adequate amount of good quality sand. Overall, I liked the way the course played and the firm, fast greens were very fun to putt on. We used the GK Coupon and saved a few greenbacks! Thanks to JohnnyGK for setting this up!

Played the Blues (6875/72.5/130) in 4H, 45M with Kassper7, Sixpex & JohnnyGK. The weather was sunny, calm by RR standards and in the 70's. The Lakes course is a challenging course to play and to walk. The tee boxes on holes 11, 15 & 18 are a good distance from the last green. 2 big climbs and mostly flat otherwise, but this is not a short course and it's usually windy. The Bermuda tees were mostly lush with good coverage. Generally level with few unfixed divots. The Bermuda fairways have good coverage. Mostly lush, they were nice to play from. The Bermuda rough also had good coverage overall. Not super deep, but long enough that playing anything more than a middle iron was unlikely. The fairway bunkers were more hard packed, softer around the greens. Overall, the sand quality was good and the traps were well maintained. The fringes/aprons were very lush up to about 5 yards off the green. The greens were mostly smooth and firm but still held iron shots well. They putted fast (listed at 13' 10" on the stimp) but did not seem THAT fast. Our group was adapting to the greens and actually making some nice putts on the back today on some tournament pins. The staff here is always pleasant to deal with here and RR is usually relatively on time with tee times. Did not see the beverage cart today, which is unusual for a Sunday afternoon. Definitely recommended.

Walked the Blues (6875/72.5/130) in 4H, 45M for $28 with Kassper7 using the GK Voucher. The weather was sunny, breezy and in the 70's... there was consistently a 1-3 club wind all afternoon. We played behind a slow 4some and took our time and enjoyed the beautiful weather. The tees had good coverage, were generally level & few unfixed divots. The Bermuda fairways have good coverage. More lush than thin, they played well. The Bermuda rough also had good coverage overall. Mowed down so you could find your ball but just long enough to be a 1/2 shot penalty. The fairway bunkers were more hard packed, softer around the greens. Overall, the sand quality was good and it was decently maintained. The fringes/aprons were very lush up to about 5 yards off the green. The greens were mostly smooth, they were firm but still held iron shots well. They putted medium fast to fast with downhill putts almost impossible. How quick & firm were they as they dried out later in the day? On 4 of the last 10 greens I putted or chipped from the fringe and ran the ball through the green to the next fringe. On a few pins, once you got the ball rolling over the crest of a hill, it was go in or stop on the fringe below. 8' coming back was a common theme AD. I would estimate that we combined for over a dozen three putts on these greens. The Lakes course is a fairly challenging course to walk. Walked the Lakes course Sunday at 11:23 for my GK 10 match with Kviser. My buddy Shon joined us, and we used the GK coupon to save us a few bucks. POP was around 4:30 with things pretty busy all around us. Customer service was good, as usual, but we never did see the beverage cart all day. Thankfully, they have the snack shack at the turn.

The course was in very nice shape. I did find some spots that were soggy from being over-watered, but not too many of those. We played the white tees, and the tee boxes were all lush and level. The fairways were very nice. Lush and green, and very nice to hit from...just wish I would've had the opportunity to hit from them more! I spent a lot of time in the rough, and it's thick and penal. Not overly long, but the kikuyu grass is grabby and sticky, and will make you work hard to get the ball out. I was only in one sand trap, and it was playable, but a little thin. The greens on Lakes are always good, and yesterday was no exception. Running 11 on the stimp, they were a little softer than they looked, being very receptive to good shots. They were a little bumpier than I had hoped for, with some putts bouncing off line. I had a 3 foot birdie putt take a right turn 6 inches from the hole that made us all scratch our heads. Maybe a footprint? Who knows. Afternoon greens, I guess.

River Ridge is always a solid test of golf. I'll be out here a lot in the next few months as I try and escape the Valley heat. Definitely recommend.

Played Sunday in the last leg of a two day tourney. I liked this course better than the Vineyard. It looks newer. It plays higher in elevation and there are some great views of the surrounding area.

The conditions were very nice. The City gross championship is here next weekend and the rough was definitely higher than Vineyard (where they are playing the Senior and Net championships). The greens were a lot faster. They were said to be 11.5 on the stimp. The greens are relatively undulating and any faster would have been tough. I thought they ran true and nice at the present speed.

The only negative was the thin layer of sand in the bunkers. I was in two. I was lucky the ball hit the lip on one when I tried to blast out and hit the ball on the bounce. I liked they had a snack house at the turn.

The layout was more visually intimidating than Vineyard with more water. Once again, course knowledge would have been nice.

Played today out here in Oxnard with a friend who lives out here and I was very impressed with the condition of the golf course. Him and I walked and it was only $22 at 7 in the morning. Fairways and ... Continue »

Played today out here in Oxnard with a friend who lives out here and I was very impressed with the condition of the golf course. Him and I walked and it was only $22 at 7 in the morning. Fairways and rough were well maintained and greens rolled perfectly. I highly recommend this course to anyone in this area.

Walked the black tees (74.6-135-7170) this morning at 8am joined by my buddy Matt Barkydog1. Our POP walking was 3 hours 40 minutes on a foggy/overcast great day for golf with temps in the mid to low 60's. Range was not open this morning so after a few putts on the putting green we were off. Very friendly starter and staff at Riverridge. I used the GK coupon to walk which was $28.00--what a great price in the morning for this caliber of a course.

The greens today were sanded, soft and listed as a 11.2 on the starter shack stimp board. I could not adjust to the green speeds today thinking they were going to be slower but that's my own fault. Some greens were quicker than others and then some putts with the sand were slower than others--it was pretty interesting today for me with the flat stick--(interesting like four 3 putts--lol). The greens were fairly pure and in good shape which they almost always are here. Iron approaches stuck like darts. The sand knocked the overall rating down maybe .5 so I rated them a 7.5 today. When the sand mixes in and maybe they are rolled they will probably be back to their 8.5 standard rating for me. The greens here are huge and depending on where the pin is you can have some longer lag putts.

Fairways were more lush than thin would say 70 lush 30 thin. Most fairway areas were all green and provided enough padding for iron play. Rated 7/10.

The tees were lush, level and most par 3 divots were filled in nicely. Rated 7/10.

Was only in one greenside bunker left of 11 that was raked and looked to contain thinner sand but was perfect amount of sand underneath top surface and easy to hit out of. Rated 7/10.

The rough was very lush and consistent and green from hole to hole. Rated 8/10.

Layout here is strong from the 2 back tees. Layout is fun--love the five par 5's. GK coupon makes this course a must play. Recommended!
