Played on Saturday, 10/27, 10:30 tee time, with John_T and his dad. Paid $44 city resident rate. Course was busy with an early tournament and a full tee sheet on a beautiful fall Vegas day. I knew we were in for a slow round when the starter yelled for the group 2 ahead to go and the guy looked at him and kept hitting practice balls. Ended up with a 4:40 round.

Course has improved slightly from 3 weeks ago. Full cart access. Tee boxes have been cut. Fairways were outstanding, with full coverage. Rough is starting to turn that dormant Bermuda tan. Bunkers were good. All greens are now open (2 and 3 were temps 3 weeks ago) and have firmed up. They were running more on the fast side and in great condition.

Service was great. Cart guys/starter were on point with getting everyone out. Drink cart around at least 4 times. Marshal was out and helped relay my disappointment to the group behind us after 1 hit into me on #10, with no "FORE", and refused to come up to the next 2 tee boxes as I waited for them.

Elite Golf has done great since taking over. While not a "destination course," should definitely be in the rotation for locals.

Played on Friday, 10/5, with John_T around 9:15. Paid $38 city resident rate. Paired up with some retired locals, one being a guy who was casino manager at 2 different places I worked because Vegas is a small town. Pace was a bit slow, finishing in 4:45, even with the group ahead dropping out after 9. Course came out of reseeding in great shape. Full access with a 90 degree rule. Tee boxes a bit shaggy but mostly level. The bermuda rough is starting to go dormant, with some areas really thick and others a little more manageable. Fairways are spectacular. Full coverage and lush. I had heard the greens were really bad before they closed for maintenance. It shows they put a lot of work into them. Greens were smooth and medium speed, however, #2 and #3 are playing temp greens and #15 has GUR marked off at the far back. The bunkers have also improved since the last time I played and are more consistent with most LV courses. Customer service was good. Drink cart around about 5 times. The grill after the round was small but great food and service. I really enjoy playing Aliante. While it does play through a boring residential area, the course is fun and no 2 holes are the same (outside of 7 and 12). The houses don't really come into play but anything rolling into the brush on either side of the fairway or the arroyo crossing a few fairways is lost. Good course to have a great time on.

Turned up on 7/31 for my prepaid booking only to find back 9 closed for Greens Coring. Then found out the front 9 greens were cored 7/30 and in atrocious condition with minimal sanding to fill a few cores on the greens. Cores were just dumped behind the greens on good turf! Keep away until at least August 15th.

Out here for the first time yesterday on a hot, hot Friday. The course was nearly empty, and we were paired up with two very cool locals that gave us all the necessary course knowledge. I found Aliante to be a somewhat difficult course, with narrow fairways and numerous places to lose your ball. The fairways were very tight (but lush and with great lies) with lots of roll, so sometimes even a great drive would keep rolling and the ball would be gone. The rough was not much over fairway height and not a problem. Bunkers were firm and difficult. The greens were a little slower than desired and pretty bumpy in spots, but firm putts usually held the line well enough.

I liked the course, would return in the future if the greens were smoother and quicker.

Back out at Aliante on Friday, 11-17, with a 8:30 tee time and paid $45 resident rate. The wind must of scared everyone away as the course was empty. Starter said to go when we were ready, so John_T and my neighbor headed off after some stretching. Picked up a single on the 1st and coasted around in just under 4 hours. There was a single stalking most of the front 9, he was playing 2 balls and never wanted to pull up to play through.

Conditions were the same as a few weeks ago. Tee boxes need a little work, and the tee marker placement was a bit off (pointing almost towards houses on a couple). Fairways were in great shape, green and carpet like. Rough is dormant and the bunkers need new sand. Greens were awesome. Firm, smooth, a nice medium-fast.

Aliante has an excellent all grass driving range with plenty of room to move around the tee area. Also a large putting green with a multiple tiers and plenty of breaks. Small short game area with a bunker. I always see people practicing around the area whenever I play.

$45 is a steal right now. Definitely worth the price to get in a round.

Played today with John_T with a 10ish tee time. Thanks to abbacat for offering her free 2some certificate, and thanks to Troon and Johnny for offering it at an event.

Such an incredible change in conditions from summer to after reseeding in fall. Tee boxes were in pretty good shape, some divots on the tees. Fairways were spectacular. The new grass has grown in nicely, I could not find any thin dirt areas at all. Rough is bermuda that is starting to go dormant, so some laid down areas, some tufts of standing grass. Bunkers were the worst, which has always been a weakness here. I was in one with some heavy sand, but another which was thin and hard packed. On to the greens. This summer (and last summer too), Aliante lost about half of their greens. They were basically hard packed sand greens with no grass. HOWEVER, the grass has returned and the greens were in phenomenal shape. Almost all smooth, medium speed, with no signs of their horrible summer condition. I was told they will cut them a bit shorter next week to speed them up.

Customer service was outstanding. Easy check in wit the certificate and they threw in a small basket of warm up balls. Starter told us to check with him after warming up and he would get us out early. Drink cart around a few times each 9 and grill was open with great prices. Felt like we had the course to ourselves (except for a maintenance guy or two and the drink cart) as we putted around in under 4 hours.

Aliante holds a special spot in my heart since it's where I played when I started this game. It is a residential course but houses are out of play as long as you're not too wide right/left. At $45 for residents ($70 for visitors), Aliante is a steal right now.

Played today with an 8am tee time, made at the last minute on Thursday afternoon. We paid $29 residents rate. Staff is what you expect from a Troon course. I was met in the parking lot and my bag was taken out to the driving range where John_T was already with the cart. Rich the starter (great guy!) asked if we wanted to get out a few groups early with another 2some, since we would be a 2some stuck behind some 4s if we went out on time. Gladly jumped at it and finished in 4:10 with no one in front, and a 2some stalking that did not want to pass through. Course was in almost great to bad shape. Tee boxes were fine, level, some divot damage. Fairways were great. Starting to dry out for re-seeding, but still lush with plenty of run. The rough was brutally thick and deep, up to about 4 inches in some area. It was great that if you ran off the fairway, you would not run through the rough and into the waste areas, however, there was a 50/50 chance you found your ball. I found 2 from previous groups just feet from the fairway. Now to the bad. Similar to last summer, Aliante has lost 6-8 greens, which were heavily sanded. Starting with #1, which was brutally damaged, they gradually became better and by 6, they were pretty good. The back 9 also had about 3 sanded greens. The greens that were still in good shape, ran fast and in really good shape, but those others were really bad. Bunkers were hard and heavily packed, almost like hardpan. Just like last year, I hope the greens grow back during re-seeding and I hope they figure out how to keep them in the summer. If all the greens were as good as the ones still alive and kicking, it would of been a great experience. Hold off a visit until Fall. **Rating came out to 6.2, probably due to great fairway/rough numbers, overall should be closer to 5-5.5.

With winds hitting close to 70 mph in the area last night, I was expecting a mess on the course. I saw a couple of maintenance vehicles hauling off lots of big limbs as I pulled in, but there was no sign of any damage to the course. Great job by the staff. Due to the weather the last few days, tee boxes were a bit shaggy, mostly level, and some divot damage. Fairways were in great shape and best part of the course. Lush, no thin or brown areas. Rough was rough, bermuda just coming back. Coverage near the desert areas have really thinned out or died. Bunkers were bad, just hard packed, thin, with pebbles in them. Greens were pretty good. As a reminder, they lost almost all of them last summer and were a bit shaggy in November when I played. Firm today, medium speed, with some bumpiness. Staff was great. No drink cart today, but you go past the bar/grill on the way to the 10th tee, with great prices. Weather kept everyone away, played in 3:45, letting a 2some through early. I do love this course, happy to see it coming back but it still has some work to do. Not a destination, but worth it for under $50.

This was the fourth time I've played this course and I believe it's currently in the best condition I've seen it. For the most part, the greens are good, smooth and running medium fast. They accept full shots very well. However, there are a few exceptions: The 4th & 15th greens both had some odd imprint or pattern that made them very bumpy. It almost looked like big-footed birds had been walking on them all night. I'm not sure if this is a disease with the grass or possibly is caused by animals, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like this anywhere before. Also, the 17th green was absolutely covered in coot droppings. The other 15 greens were all good, though. The fairways have been overseeded and are very good. Excellent coverage and a nice deep green. The rough is semi-dormant bermuda, also with great coverage. Tee boxes were good. Bunkers had good sand but as Rob mentioned, also some rocks.
