I am in total agreement with Rob1563's review, the course could have been a lot better. The greens just got worse as the round went on. The traps like he said were very difficult because of the hardness of the sand. I have played here a few times and this is the worst I have seen it. A little disappointed.
The range is grass and was in decent shape and I was given a free bucket of balls. The staff here are very friendly. I was also blown away by the cart girl giving last call at 10:45.
I like this course and play it when I come to Vegas as my in-laws live nearby. I will be back once conditions improve. I'm sure they will get the greens back to where they once were.

I also thank Johnny and Aliante for the certificate I won at a GK event. It is very much appreciated.

Played on Friday, 7/29, with Caligolfer1031, using his free 4some won at a GK plays event (Thanks Greg, Johnny, and Troon). All grass driving range, large putting green, and a nice bunker/chipping area. Teed off at 10 (per the certificate) and breezed around in about 3:30, almost having the course to ourselves. Drink cart made her "last call" while we were on #6, but grill was open and water coolers were out and full every 3 holes. As much as I enjoy playing Aliante, it was rough. Tee boxes were level, some divot damage, but playable. Fairways were the best part. Firm, with lots of roll, but not thin. Never had a bad lie. Rough was cut just above fairway length, except near hazards and the arroyo that runs along and across a majority of the holes where they allowed it to grow(thankfully stopping the ball from rolling into it). Bunkers were crispy, thin, and hard packed. Chipping out or playing it like hardpan would be the play. And onto the greens: The first 3 or 4 were kinda shaggy and slow. The rest of the front 9 appeared to have been cut, but still ran at a medium speed. The back 9 were in bad shape. It appeared large areas of most of the greens have died off and they have sanded them to try to help. It was like putting on greens just aerated and sanded that day. I do love Aliante. I love the layout, the variety of holes and especially the Par 3s. Unfortunately, the dog days of summer will not help the grass. I'm hoping the down time when they close for reseeding will give them the time they need to repair the greens. I would wait until October to play.

I try and play this course once or twice a year when I am in Vegas as it's generally fun and in decent shape. Today was about the norm. The fairways were in pretty good shape and really short. Although there were a few bare spots throughout the round I never had any suspect lies. The rough varied. It was either barely longer than the fairway to a couple of inches long. The greens are what usually bring me back. They aerated recently and the front 9 was a little sandy and putted noticeably slower than the back 9.

The starter let me go out as a single about 30 minutes before my tee time and I finished in 3 1/2 hours. That includes waiting on virtually every shot after the 4th or 5th hole and joining up with the threesome in front of me on the back 9.

This is a decent track to play but I would only play here during the summer. You can get a pretty good rate from online tee times but I do fee it is overpriced during the winter for the nonresident rates.

When the greens are healed up they will be a lot better. Although they rolled true, they were just slow today. If you do play here, only play about half as much break as you read.

Played on Saturday, May 28, using a free 2some voucher from a GK plays (Thanks to RGM2525 for sending it to me, Johnny and Troon). My experiences at Troon ran courses have always been excellent, and it matched. We were met in the parking lot, where they loaded the bags onto our cart. After checking in, cart was ready with the range balls we just purchased. Our tee time was after 11 (per the certificate) but they asked if we wanted to head out early. Course looked busy but they must of played early. We played through 1 group on the front and saw a group on the back but didn't catch them, finishing in a very leisurely 3:45.

Aliante has a large all grass driving range and a large putting green, running consistent with the course. They also have a practice bunker that's as deep as the green side bunkers.

Course conditions were OK. Tee boxes were level and they combined a couple to do maintenance on the others. Fairways were nice, great lies, and no bare areas. They were firm and had plenty of run out. Rough was non existent. I guess the bermuda is just coming back but there was no penalty for hitting into it. Bunkers were the worst part. All hard packed with pebbles. For the deep green side bunkers, it made it very difficult to get out. Greens were not great, but not bad. The 1st 3 holes they were slow and shaggy, then picked up to a medium speed. They had that multi-colored look to them, but they ran smooth with very little ball marks.

Overall, I really enjoy playing Aliante. It's not a destination course, but the course is pretty good. There's no hole that stands out, but all 18 are different. There's a couple of short par 4s mixed with some long ones, and all the Par 3s are different lengths and don't look the same. It does need a little work, but it's fun to play. Grill prices were phenomenal, $3 for a pretty good hot dog, $5 for a 22oz draft. They offer free juniors with paying adult after 1, and there were lots out there when we left.

Played here Thursday, 1/14 with sixpez as part of a recent Vegas golf trip. The starter was really great and recognized that we were ready to roll, even though there were a few groups slated in front of us. He sent us off the back side first, which we zipped around in about 80-90 minutes and then he got us slotted right in on the first tee with no delay. Big kudos to him for going out of his way to make players happy. Total POP was a little under 3:30.

Conditions are quite good, although the greens were inconsistent from one nine to the other. The back nine (our first nine) greens were much smoother, while the front nine greens were a mix of different grasses making them bumpier. Fairways look like deep green carpets from the tee box, juxtaposed against the dormant rough. The fairways played great and the rough was not very penal at all. Tee boxes were decent. Bunkers ok but had some rocks in them.

Second round of the trip was here on Thursday, using another GK twosome voucher won at an outing. Thanks, Johnny! Itslikeimsayin and I had a 10:40 tee time, but arrived early and the starter and pro shop guy were great in getting us out ahead of schedule. The front nine was fairly busy, so they sent us off on the back first. There was only a threesome ahead of us and they were very quick players, so we rarely had to wait. Then, we made the turn easily, joining up with a single on the first tee. There were groups ahead and it played slower, but overall still a great pace!

The course was in solid winter shape. Tee boxes fine. Fairways overseeded and playing a little firmer and tighter than The Revere, so we benefitted from some extra roll-out while still having good lies to hit from. The rough is dormant and the lines are clean, so the fairways are framed nicely. The rough was sometimes super tight, but some patches were a little thicker and fluffier, so lies varied from super easy to rather tricky. The greens seemed to have multiple grasses and were bumpy in places, but still mostly fine. However, they seemed a lot quicker on the back nine than on the front.

This was my first time playing Aliante and I was glad to finally check it out with one of the GK vouchers. It lived up to the expectations as a decent course. The service was good and the conditions were pretty nice. The layout itself is solid. It just isn't anything overly distinctive. From tee to green, it's quite forgiving. It helped that there were a number of tough pin placements on Thursday, so that added a little more challenge on an otherwise pretty straightforward design.

Played Aliante on 11/10 in some of the worst weather conditions I've ever played. Wind was consistently blowing at 30-40mph and the temp never really broke 50, so I'll try not to let that bias my review!

I'd call Aliante a really good "tier 2" Vegas course, but is priced accordingly especially with the 25% coupon on GK Store! Well north of the strip, but still only 25 mins away, it's a typical "community course" that winds through neighborhoods and it's pretty typical for one side of the hole to be flanked by houses. That being said, there's plenty of room for the holes and they don't feel tight, like some community courses will.

The facilities at Aliante are excellent, really solid driving range that can easily handle 30-40 people along with a good, level putting green and a little chipping area made it easy to warm up properly. The staff directed us to the first hole and was very accommodating when we had a late substitution to our group. Carts do not have GPS, so bring your own device.

Course itself is not particularly difficult (expect when you have a 40mph cross wind). We played from the Silver tees (6100, 69.0/124) and you rarely needed or wanted driver off the tee. Placement is much more paramount here than distance. There aren't a whole lot of memorable holes, but there's a cool little waterfall on the back that makes for a good scene and the par 5's all are reachable with not without danger either around green or off the tee.

Conditions were excellent, especially for $32!! Greens were fast, smooth, and consistent, but very, very firm. I'll say that was due to a frost delay and high winds and is probably not the norm. I was in a few poor lies in the fairway, but nothing outrageous. Sand was thin, but very consistent as it was thin everywhere. Tee boxes were mostly level, but a few on the back needed some work.

Overall I'd say Aliante is little hidden gem in Vegas. On par with courses like Wildhorse, Desert Pines, but at a 10-15% discount. On my next Vegas trip, I'll definitely try this course again, hopefully without the gale force winds.

I played Aliante on 10/2/15. I won a twosome in a GK raffle (thank you, Johnny!) It was my first stop on a 3 day golf weekend. The staff was wonderful. We got big welcomes from everyone and they were all very helpful. Before playing we had a quick lunch in the cafe. The food was good and the service was fast! The course was in beautiful condition, although the greens were really slow. It was the last day of 'cart path only'. Fortunately, the fairways are fairly narrow so it wasn't too bad. It was difficult finding yardage markers as they only ones were on the cart path. We were told that they are working on getting the markers put in the fairway. The beverage cart girl was awesome. She came by a couple times, chatted, and even offered to take pics of us. That was so nice. I would definitely play here again when in the area.

This course is one of my favorites to play when in Las Vegas. Troon Golf took ownership a few years ago so that in my mind is a guarantee the course conditions will be incredible and they were. The greens rolled quick and smoothly. Although many of the greens read as though there will be some break to them, they generally don't so just putt it at the hole. The pace of play was great and we didn't wait on any shot. However, it was a Monday afternoon and 110 degrees so that probably contributed to the faster pace of play. The only drawback with this course is the greens fees are high. If you look around on the online discount tee time websites you can get a pretty good deal. I found a rate of $15 and there were generally at least $50 at other times during the day. I would definitely recommend this course. It's very playable and forgiving and a lot of fun. There isn't a lot of hidden trouble, in fact it's only on holes 3,14,16 and 17. If you don't have a GPs with the hole description, each cart comes with a yardage card. Lastly, I was only in one bunker and my playing partner was in a few. There wasn't a lot of sand and the club would skid across the surface so you have to keep that in mind. Enjoy
