Played on Thursday, 3/4, 8:30ish, $45, with the Cocky & Lucky Golf and Social Club. Course was moving super smooth and we finished in just over 3:30 with a few waits, and a 2 hole gap behind us (despite them hitting into us on the 1st).

Course is in great shape and well worth the higher rates. Fairways were lush with no bare areas. Rough is up slightly above fairway length, but some areas are longer and more penal. Greens were pretty smooth and about as fast as they can be without be totally ridiculous. Tee boxes were ok, I would love to see them level some of them out. Bunkers were decent, but inconsistent.

Customer service was great. Easy check-in and starter. Snack shack in the 8/9/10 triangle area was open and serving up some good hot dogs/brats. The bar/grill was filled with the reduced seating and the outdoor patio was open and busy.

Course is always fun with some reachable par 5s and short par 4s, with a little bit of risk/reward thrown in.

Itslikeimsayin's review from 3 days ago is awesome. I play here a lot so his review of the course is probably better than what I could say about my home course. Conditions are in prime shape right now, a couple months out of tee to green re-seeding. Greens are easily in the best shape I've seen them in and running faster than they look.

Only bad point today was pace of play. I'm never looking to rush around the course, especially in the morning, but there's no reason to fall 2 holes back on the front 9. We finished in just over 4 hours, but it could of easily been 3.5 or so, with us waiting on every hole.

We were in a bad position for the drink cart, hitting her early in the round and on the last hole, but saw her 2 other times. Unfortunately no marshal was out to regulate the pace.

Played here today with an 11:25 tee time purchased directly from the “Deals” section on their website for $42 plus $1.99 booking fee. Excellent deal! Showed up around 11:00 and they sent me to the starter right away. After I spent about five minutes walking around looking for the starter over by the carts (D’oh - the starter stand is in the other direction), I got sent straight to the first tee. The starter was concerned because he had no one to pair me with, but I said I was fine with it and he didn’t seem against sending me on my own. The foursome in front of me let me play through on the 3rd or 4th hole, and then I had no one in front of me until catching up with people on the approach to 10. They invited me to play through on 11, but pace was decent already and I was taking a bunch of pictures, so I told them I was fine. Finished around 2:45 p.m. for total POP of about 3:30-3:45. Covid stuff: Masks required in the shop, single rider carts for all unless you don’t want it, PVC pipes in the cups, no rakes in bunkers. There was ice in the ice chest on the cart and seed mix for divots. Saw the beverage cart once or twice.

Conditions are excellent! Greens are smooth, medium fast and accept full shots really well. Fairways are very lush and beautiful, no complaints. Rough is also very lush, about 2-3 inches deep. Sometimes the ball sits up and other times it sinks down a bit, which makes things much tougher. Bunkers were really nice. Black tee boxes were good; some of the par 3s had lots of divots, but still no problem finding a place to tee it up.

This was my first time playing the course and I loved it! I expected it to be a step down from Mountain, but I actually prefer it to Mountain. It’s very much a “desert” course where lots of holes have forced carries off the tee and then the fairways are lined with desert. The first par 5 is kinda hard to figure out as a first timer (even with GPS with hole diagrams on the cart), but it turns out to be a really interesting and attractive hole. Four of the five par 3s are great on this course, but the 12th is the real standout – just gorgeous! Also really liked the par-5 11th, the par-4 7th, and the par-4 18th. I played the tips, which provide a good challenge.

A great surprise and highly, highly recommended!

Played AP Palm on Friday, 5/8. I made a 2:15 tee time and paid using the app, $49 OB Card rate. As a pre-paid, just had to stop in the pro shop and grab the receipt, then grab a cart and head out. Started about 10 minutes late (no starter sending anyone) but finished in 3:15 as a single, following a tons of 4somes, so no where to go anyways. I sat back and played on my phone and camera.

Minimal staff interaction. Walk up window for the restaurant, on course snack bars and drink carts until 4. Nevada restaurants are allowed to open starting 5/9 with 50% occupancy, so may be some changes.

Course is in outstanding shape. Lush everywhere. Rough was up, about 2 inches and penal. Bunkers are raked every morning, so they were kinda crusty in spots. Only nitpicking complaints: greens are slower than normal, lessens some of the breaks I was expecting.

Some C19 changes at AP: single person carts (unless same household); walking is allowed; range is open but limited spaces; no flags on putting greens; Palm had pool noodles in the cups (Mountain had reversed cups, I don't know if they changed all over to the noodle); No Twilight Rates (a year ago, this round was $20-25).

Palm is my go-to for a fun round on a shorter course (5800 yds from the blues). 1 day I will eagle the par 5 11th, 3 inches short today.

Played on Saturday, 1/4, with a 10:15 tee time with a high school buddy and paired up with a local dad and his son. Paid $49 with the OB card. I was a little scared of the mid morning weekend start but we finished in 4:10, waiting on the group ahead, who had no one in front of them.

Conditions were excellent for early January. Hopefully, one of these days they'll level off the tee boxes that have been built up from years of divot fills, but that was the only complaint. Fairways have complete coverage with no dirt areas. Rough is cut short this time of year, so barely over an inch or so. Sand is better than normal for a Vegas course. Greens were just great. Smooth, some unrepaired ball marks, and fast. The hole on 16 was the most unfair placement I've ever seen, no shot of stopping it close, either in or roll 20 feet away.

Palm is an excellent course to build your confidence. Not long on the card, but all the par 3s are over 150 with trouble everywhere. Greens are small and tricky. Fun course to play and bet on.

Played on Thursday, 9/12. Palm was one of the first out of over-seed and is one of the few currently open. Walked in around 2 and found it a little busy for a Thursday afternoon, was on the 1st tee at 2:30 solo, behind 2 PGM students playing the tips, and a 4 in front of them. Finished in exactly 3 hours and paid $25.

Course was Cart Path Only. Tee boxes level, some were pretty long. Fairways have grown in nicely, there's a couple of holes that need some help, but overall good. Rough is varied, but super thick to just longer than fairway. Bunkers were the same, a little heavy. Greens were fantastic. Smooth but they were slow, medium speed.

Palm is a shorter course, but so much fun to play. Good par 3s and some "go for it" par 5s.

Played The Palms on Saturday, Aug 17th, tee'd off at 0600H to beat the heat. My Pal and I were the only two out early and let a fast twosome by us on the 8th hole so we could enjoy the play. First time for me playing Angel Park and was met in the darkness by a friendly worker that brought us a cart, bought some coffee and some muffins for us from the awesome bar keep, Peggy. Starter let us go early, tee boxes were fine, had to hunt a bit for a flat stance but not too hard to get a good spot to tee from. Fairways were full and green so not much roll out. Rough was full and no bare spots, bunkers were still wet from the overnight watering but I was in 6 of them all day and had no trouble getting the ball out with an open blade, greens were firm but very slow though I putted well but its scary to pound that ball to the target. Overall the course was in great playing conditions in spite of the Las Vegas sun beating it up. I will return someday. Oh, I had 3 eagle chances and actually hit the pin on a sidehill slider putt and ended up two inches left of the hole. 5 birdies on the day really made it a fun round for me.

I played Angel Park (Palm) on May 14, 2019, with my regular weekly golf group. I remember we dealt with some pretty strong winds, which affected pace of play (about 5 1/2 hours) but made for a fun and weirdly challenging round of golf.

As usual, most of the resort courses I get to play here in Vegas (like Angel Park) pride themselves on providing great customer service. What’s cool it that they realize us locals are just as important as the visitors, and really go out of their way to make sure we have a good time too.

The Angel Park courses seem to get a lot more play than other courses on the west side of Vegas. However, course conditions are generally very good, as they were when we played in May. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all noticeably in good shape while the rough is made up of that desert sand and brush that has a way of swallowing up my golf balls–especially true with the wind blowing.

The course layout features a number of forced carries over desert and canyons, but usually offers a lay up or bail out option for us less skilled players. However, I’m sure long hitters will find those carries quite a good challenge from the back tees.

While it was a bit slow that day, none of us seemed to mind. An added bonus is that the views of the Red Rock mountains are terrific. I’m looking forward to getting out to Angel Park again soon.

Played on Friday, 7/5. Late decision to just walk on around 2, $25 with the OB Card, teed off at 2:30 and was in my car in less than 3 hours. Played through a 4 on 10 (basically forced) after trying to lay back and not tee off until they were off the green on the 1st 9. Made the turn in just about 1:30, than played the last 9 in just over a hour.

Course is in great condition for the summer time. Fairways were lush and running. They are growing the rough up and added a graduated "first cut" too. Bunkers looked crusty, but were easy to hit from, just need some rake lessons for the earlier groups. Greens were awesome. They are fully healed for aeration about a month ago. Smooth, "medium fast," but not firm, holding shots nicely.

Palm is my go-to course when I want to have fun, try to get risky, and still shoot a low score. Par 70, not even 6000 from the blues, but so much fun.
