We had an 8:20 tee time and there was about a 45 minute frost delay so we got out a little after 9:00 Staff was great keeping us informed and the starter gave us some good info.
Pace of play was great! we only waited a few minutes of a couple of the par 3's.
Front nine is traget golf down in the canyons with some really cool holes.Back nine to totally different with wider fairways but sill some interesting holes that make think about club selection.
Tee boxes were fine no problem finding a good spot to tee it up. Fairways very good. Excellant coverage and lush. If you miss the fairway you are basically in the desert with rocks to deal with. Bunkers had fine sand but somewhat heavy due to the rain the day before.
Greens looked a little thin but putted fine. medium speed and true. One nice thing was very few ball marks to deal with.
Very nice grass range to warm up on and decent putting green. Putting green was much slower the the course greens maybe due to how wet it was.
Overall we had a great time and I will try to make back here again soon.

Played on Saturday, 12/12, with GK'er SR129 (Steve), who was using a free 2some he won at a GK event (Thanks Steve, GK, and Conestoga!) We arrived early after a quicker than normal drive from Vegas to find our 8:20 tee time had been pushed back to 9:10 due to a frost delay. Course staff kept us informed as we waited. The free range opened around 8:30, along with the small chipping and putting areas. Starter gave us a quick run down of the course and got us out 3rd. Drink cart was around about 3 times and we finished in about 4:15, waiting on most holes for the 3some in front who were following a 4some. Course was in "close to" excellent shape. Tee boxes were mostly level and very little divot damage, with the exception of the par 3 14th. Fairways had grown in since the reseeding, with some brown/thin areas on a few holes, but never a bad lie. Rough was about 1" and easy to hit out of it. Bunkers were phenomenal (and I was in quite a few). For having an overnight rain, sand was not hard packed and almost fluffy-like. Greens were firm and fast. They may have been wet and frosty early, but sped up as the sun came up. Almost no damage from ball marks on the greens. I've played Conestoga twice before and always left wanting to love it, but couldn't. Both times prior were in the summer, and the greens were just beaten by the heat. This time sent it over the top. The front 9 is target golf through the canyons, and the back 9 (my favorite), is a little more open and great view. The collection of Par 3s are some of my favorite. Overall, Conestoga is a great course, worth the trip, and a must play in the area with Wolf Creek and Coyote Springs.

Got up to use my GK rounds at Conestoga this weekend. Great experience from start to finish. Cart guys were awesome and set a great tone for the round. Talking to them prior to even getting into the pro shop I was even more stoked to play there. Excellent Troon service throughout. Course was in real nice shape, flat and well mowed tee boxes, lush but not too high. Nice fairways and rough just a bit thicker. The ball sat up real nice on every shot. Only in one fairway and one green side trap. Both were decent enough. Greens were smooth and decently fast with only a few unrepaired divots from previous golfers that day. Food was excellent and nice pro shop for souvenirs. A few just ok holes through the beginning of the back 9 but the scenery on the front is fantastic. Similar to it's Mesquite neighbor Wolf Creek, but much more playable. No GPS on carts. I really enjoyed the experience here and will make this a regular stop on my Vegas trips.

I drove straight from Goose Creek to Las Vegas after the gk plays at Goose Creek. I played Conestoga on Wednesday, using the free round I had won at the Indian Wells event. The staff was very professional and helpful to a first-timer.I teed off at about 8am as a single, and joined a twosome on about the fifth hole. I liked the layout, as there was enough room to drive the ball, but enough challenge to make one think. There were two holes (from the gold tees), where you run out of golf course if you hit too much club. My advice; hit one club shorter (maybe two) than you think you should hit. I can't remember which holes, but they'll give you a yardage card. The greens were good summer Bermuda, a little slow and tricky to putt if one is used to bent/poa annua. The area immediately surrounding the course is beautiful and undeveloped (so far). Pace of play was about four hours. All in all, a very good course. I could definitely see including it in a loop with Coyote Springs, Paiute, and Wolf Creek for a "North of Vegas" golf spree.

Did not live up to its hype. Don't get me wrong, very good course and very challenging and enjoyable to play. Front nine is much better than the back. Back nine seemed very bland. and short of extraordinary. I felt like I played 2 different courses. Front nine requires a lot of course management. Challenging to play for the first time without course knowledge or with someone that has been there before. Course layout card did not help very much and yardages did not seem accurate from the gold tees. I also spent a lot of time trying to figure out whether I was on the correct tee. Tee Markers were confusing . I wanted to play the gold tees. My markers were gold with a black emblem in the middle. I know from experience that some of the tougher courses will sneak your tees forward for pace of play. It took me a while to figure out that the black tees were not marked and were not in play. haha A description of the hole and the best way to play it would of been very helpful. No GPS Course was very dry and firm. Always had to consider if the ball would roll out from the dry conditions. Rough was cut and not vaccumed or picked up. I actually lost a ball that just rolled outside of the fairway into 12 inches of cut grass clippings. Greens are Bermuda with a ton of grain. Firm.... and slow. Late summer rate was perfect, just a little disappointed I had to sacrifice a little quality for it. Staff and customer service was excellent and professional. Good golf course, just a bit short to be considered extraordinary.

I got the opportunity to Conestoga on Black Friday with fellow GKer Sixpez. We had a 9:30 tee time but had a 30 minute frost delay. While waiting, we used the putting green that had a chipping area and driving range with free range balls. The starter suggested that we play from the Copper tee since it was our first time there. We were a little hesitate to do so because of the yardage(5889). We played Cooper Tees. Anyway, next time I will be hitting from the Silver(6378). The POP wasn't a issue once we got started.
The course layout is Par 72. The canyons on the front side make for target golf. The views are fantastic. The back side does opens up but still challenging. There is no GPS on the carts but the course does give you a yardage guide. The greens were fast and smooth. The pin placements were in difficult locations. It made it hard to make any putt. The fairways were well define by color, the green fairways and light brown dormant rough. Only water is on nine and ten.
Overall I thought the course conditions were great. Excellent facilities. I just don't understand why golfers don't talk about this golf course more. It's a must and worth the drive from Las Vegas. I will play this course every time I'm in the area.

Conestoga was the marquee round of this trip. We played there Black Friday morning. We had a 9:30 tee time, but there was a frost delay in the morning and it was a little after 10:00 by the time our group teed off. The staff did a good job of making up for the delay and getting everyone off in a timely manner, but the starter and cart attendants could have been better about keeping everyone informed of the pecking order. They really didn't say anything until you were up next on the tee, so were kind of waiting around awkwardly until we got the call. We were paired with two singles and things went along great on the course. The back nine slowed down a little, but we never had to wait too much and the groups behind never pushed us either. The course was in nice condition overall. The tee boxes were well maintained. The fairways looked good, but the turf was tricky as it seems the overseed didn't completely overtake. The top was a relatively thin layer of sticky rye grass with the snaggy, dry dormant bermuda roots still showing underneath. The playability was fine and the surfaces were consistent, so it just took a little adjusting. The rough was not too much of a factor—a little dry and cut low. The greens were good. They were very firm and my lower trajectory wouldn't hold them at all. I was living on the fringes all day. Putts rolled smoothly and quickly on the tight and somewhat dry surfaces. Conestoga is a fantastic course and is not to be overlooked on your Mesquite trip. The facilities are nice and the course is a dramatic, challenging and fun design. We ended up playing the forward copper tees at the urging of the starter, but I wish we had played silvers. There are a number of forced carries to contend with, but nothing so extreme you can't play the normal total yardage you're comfortable with. The greens here are very tricky and the pin placements Friday were diabolical on top of little mounds and ridges. You had to hit the ball firm to get to the hole, but if you missed your ball would often roll 5 feet past. A few pins were a bit too extreme if you ask me, especially on such a busy day when you want pace of play to be quicker. As others have noted, the two nines are a bit different. The front nine is much more target-oriented as it winds its way through some narrow canyon sections. Very dramatic and unique. There is no GPS here, but they do give you a basic yardage guide that helps a little. Still, this is definitely a course you need to play several times to figure out the best strategies on certain holes. The back nine is more straightforward, but still very enjoyable, highlighted by the 17th with the green tucked back into a canyon. I'd recommend Conestoga in a heartbeat and whoever wins the GK twosome voucher at the Indian Wells event next week will be a lucky duck. I'll post some current pictures soon.

Love playing here, I have saved several yardage books & have my personal notes. This is a course you must play several times because the front 9 is tight, Ironically I hit 6/7 fairways and ONLY missed one fairway by inches. Some holes on the front you must play a FADE shot to leave you in perfect position.

GREENS: super slo mo.... :( I know how fast the greens can be but just coming out of overseed the entire course.

OVERALL CONDITIONS are IDEAL!
POP w/carth path only was under 4 1/2 hrs had a 4 ball in front of us with a 3 ball behind...all parties understood how to play READY GOLF!!!!

Practice is one of the best in the area, unfortunately not many golf balls available, maybe due to a shotgun start in the morning. I shared what I had available with some other players. KARMA? we ended up playing together and it was their FIRST time playing the course! Having me available for local knowledge really helped these first timers to the course they never played.

I took many pics as I could w/o delaying pace of play.

The first course on my short visit to Nevada/Utah. First time playing this course. I was very impressed with the front nine, very interesting. (Wish I would have bought a yardage guide as there are a number of "bling shots" The back nine is very generic and although scenic, does not compare to the front 9.

The greens were slow slow slow! Reasonable as to roll, but I was not long enough to get the ball to the hole. Tee boxes recently punched, as were some of the roughs. The traps were NOT GOOD ! If there was any sand it was minimal and hard packed.

Staff was perfect !We had a tee time of 2:00, got there at 11:30 and they got me right out. Did not see anyone until I was on the 18th fairway. Under three hours taking a relaxing pace. (After all it was over 100+ degrees, so too hot to rush) Really enjoyed this course despite the slow greens. With luck Wolf Creek tomorrow will be more to my liking.
