Played this course as a once in a lifetime experience. Please know that the average trip to pebble beach will cost you anywhere between $2,000-$5,000 dollars. We drove the 5.5 hour drive up north to play, stayed at a best western and paid the $550 green fees. It was beyond worth it! We also spent about another $1,000 in the proshop between my friend and I.

I highly recommend if you play this course that you pay for the fore caddy. It's about $130 plus a tip at the end but it will help you greatly if you've never played this course.

What can I say..... Conditions were immaculate . We walked the course and played it in 4 hours. (Little tip- Hole 6 make sure you up on top of the hill or your calves will be hating you!) Its a hell of a hike!

Pro-shop, practice greens, everyone was so friendly and kind. Best golfing experience I have ever had in my life! I can only hope everyone gets to play this course once in your lifetime! We got to play 16 days before the AT&T Pebble beach Pro -AM tournament so conditions were perfect. Played from the tips to compare to the pros and well...... I shot a 99. Guess I need to shave 27 strokes off my score to make the PGA haha!!

Walked the Golds (6454/73.2/137) in 4H, 20M mid morning. CPO if riding. Like others, I took advantage of the Inn being closed because of COVID and was "only" required to pay the golf fee. After playing in a gale in May, the weather was great this time. Started out in the 50's but was 70 by the end of the round. Calm most of the round, 1-2 club wind the last few holes. Played with John and Dan, and our forecaddie was Jerry, who was very nice and helpful. Having walked the course once before definitely assisted. Alex's review of 2 days ago was spot on and especially captured the essence of the greens and sand traps perfectly. The course was immaculate overall. Tees lush, almost immaculate. Only thing I did not rate 10/10, and they got a 9/10. Fairways were immaculate. Primary rough surprisingly even, about 2.5", lush and THICK. Usually difficult to play out of, several times our group had balls we could not locate until almost on top of them not that far off fairways. Every hole has some native areas that are a likely lost ball. Traps were amazing. Lots of nice, fluffy sand. And I had 4 fairway and 5 greenside opportunities to sample them. Had a good putting day my first round @ PB. Today experienced what Alex mentioned prominently in his review. Had 2 chip in 0 putts, otherwise my putting numbers would have been unusually high. Small poa greens remind me very much of the Donald Ross course I grew up playing back in N.C. Greens rolled great in spite of my not making hardly any putts. Customer Service outstanding. Asked if I could purchase a replacement bag tag for the one that was stolen several months ago, they gave me a replacement. Much appreciated! All grass range across the street was available before the round. Got there early and hit some different wedges on a simulator indoor set up as hole #7. Pro Shop and shops open this visit. Masks required at check-in and when dealing with all P.B. personnel, not required on the course. No on course services today. New TW designed par 3 course looks about ready for prime time. Highly recommended.

Was back out at Pebble Beach this morning with a 9am tee time to join GK'ers Gregholla, Apisaski and Fatfish433 for a great walk around Pebble( and what was suppose to be the 2021 Birdie Chain Battle kickoff). Conditions are are pretty much perfect and quite possibly the best I've ever seen them. Greens were easily a 10, rolling super smooth. Greens started out the traditional Pebble style in that they were very fast downhill but manageable uphill. At About the 10th the greens dried out and became wicked fast in all directions. Greens at Pebble Beach have subtle breaks that can be super tricky. They look so tame, yet have such a big bite! Fairways and tee boxes were perfect as well. Super lush and a perfect emerald green. They are starting to narrow the fairways for the upcoming tournament. Sandtraps were fantastic as well. So fluffy and really a pleasure to escape from. It's no wonder the pros make bunker shots look so easy. The Pebble Beach resort is still in full Covid lockdown. No onsite dining (inside or outside) and even the snack bar/shop is closed down. Cups have foam spacers halfway down and no rakes in the bunkers. Three of us walked and Dave took a cart (CPO) No other services are currently being offered such as shoe and club cleaning. Pro shop is partitioned with only a small portion open. As stated many times by all, Pebble Beach is a spectacular course well worth the 5 hour journey around the track.

Played Pebble Beach this morning with a 9AM tee time. Weather was typical Pebble Beach and gave us the opportunity to experience every part of Pebble. Started off a little cool but quickly warmed up to short sleeve temperatures. Then at about the 9th hole the wind picked up. By the 17th it was easily a two club wind. Course is in excellent condition as you would imagine for a place like this. Greens were easily rated at a 10. Rolling super smooth at a fast pace. Greens also are soft and easily hold well struck approach shots. Fairways were a 9 with great coverage and lush conditions. Sand traps were also a 10 with pure white fluffy sand. Tee boxes were in the 9.5 range. The one “down” point was the rough which was a little patchy in areas. Rough was only about 2” tall so if you managed a good lie you were set to go. As for covid restriction. Pebble is on strict lockdown. No restaurants are open and that includes the snack shop between the 12th/13th hole (and accessible after the 9th). No beverage cart or attendees grabbing your bag. Make sure to take plenty of supplies (food & water) for the journey. Not sure if the shuttle was running or not. I parked at the range then drove back down to the first tee. Range was on mats. Probably because of the rain on Friday as I don’t think they’ve started using the mats in preparation for the AT&T but it’s possible. It was weird at this time of the year not seeing the stands being built. We didn't take a forecaddie this time around as they aren't allowed to do anything other than spot your ball and read your putts. Unlike Spyglass Hill where having a spotter is very beneficial, Pebble is not that big of a deal. It's either in play or in the Ocean! As far as for reading putts. Yeah, I got fooled a few times. Is the extra $$ worth 2-3 strokes? That's your call. Once we get back to "normal" and caddies an carry clubs and give full service then absolutely I'll call one of my go to caddie's and have him shoulder by bag. This will be a little bit of a rant… but said with intention of giving others a better understanding. Pebble has several marshal’s out there to keep things moving along. Yes you just paid $$$$$ to play. Guess what? So did everyone else. The marshals want everyone to have a good time and enjoy themselves. Taking (social distance) pictures is encouraged. Taking 5 minutes between every shot is not. So for those who insist on taking a cart. Be prepared. You know it’s cart path only, so play smart. Pebble Beach has the standard blue-200, white-150 and red-100 yard markers on the sides of the fairway. Use those to guide you in club selection, grab a couple and then walk to your ball. We had a single paired up with our threesome today and he would continually walk out to his ball, shoot the flag with his range finder then walk back to his cart and grab his club. Unacceptable in my book. Other than that it was a great day (except for the triple bogey on 14) on a great course. I got skunked on birdies at Spyglass Hill the other day (and all year) but managed to sink one today for a total of 3 birds at Pebble Beach this year. Not a bad way to end the year!

Played 12/24, 10am. Walked with a forecaddy. Fortunate to get out here 6 months after my first time. Beautiful day, mild wind, short sleeves for 3 hours. Course in fabulous shape, as expected. Hit the ball much better than my first time, so got redemption there. Birdied #6! Forecaddies really saved me about 5-8 strokes... as he was pretty spot on with club selection and genius on the greens. I would've misclubbed all day, even with the mild wind. Good time to play if you are an NCGA member and you want to cross this off your bucket list. Discount through the 10th, and the hotel is closed, so you don't have to put out for that. Everything else is closed too on the resort except for the pro shop and gift shop. I will forever want to play here again.. so here's to hoping I can do it in the near future.

They are 90-95% healed. No signs of holes or sand on the greens just rolling a bit slower then normal. Still rolling at a medium-fast pace. Rest of the course is still in fantastic shape. Tee boxes, sand traps, and fairways all a 10.

Pebble Beach. You are actually reading a review of this course. Why? You know it, you've seen it. Getting a chance to play here is like winning a date with a famous celeb for a day at a pricey auction. I was nervous, I stared a lot, I felt the need to brag to others about my day.

Hopefully your day with this celebrity goes as you hope. Pierce Brosnan is as good looking in person as on TV. You get to know Paget Brewster a little more with each hole. You don't look for flaws, you enjoy the company, you try and be yourself but it's difficult. Pat Benetar asks you some questions and sometimes you fumble for answers. You are just glad to be hanging with Penn Badgley.

In the end, you wish you had been a better version of yourself. You know you will never forget this day. You wish you had a second date. Probably not going to happen.

Got to play here for the first time yesterday (8/5) with GK member Kassper7 on an 11:40am tee time. Weather was a bit overcast but otherwise perfect with almost no wind! What can you say about Pebble that hasn’t been gushed about already; the history, the prestige, the conditions, the views...all of it lives up to expectations. Even playing the worst round I have all year couldn’t hamper my excitement at getting g a crack at the famed Pebble Beach.

Tee boxes: The weakest (still a 9) part of the course exacerbated almost exclusively by the amount of golfers today and our later-ish tee time. Played the whites and I’m sure they saw plenty of play today. Just a handful of holes had some heavy divots and there was a few lies that were uneven; nitpicking at this point.

Fairways: Green carpet. Not one bad lie for me. Good roll and visually stunning, even under grey skies. A pleasure to hit from.

Rough: Just saw the previews of TPC Harding Park for the PGA Championship and Pebbled looked a lot like it; thick, nasty, and humbling. It would grab your club as if to say “keep in the fairway you fool”. The fescue grass was insanely long and hard to hit from as well.

Bunkers: I hadn’t touched this much sand since my last visit to Santa Barbara, but the bunkers here are well manicured with beautiful pearl colored sand. Enough sand present to be able to shape your shot appropriately. No raked due to COVID.

Greens: The smallest greens I have ever played on. Miss your approach and you are in trouble. Conditions were immaculate. The color pops on these greens, the roll was true (and amazingly not as quick as you’d think). The ocean pull is real, but these weren’t unfair greens.

ETC: It’s Pebble, so even during COVID, there’s plenty of the traditional stuff to keep you entertained. Pro shop open with precautions enacted. Starter was helpful. I believe the shops between the first tee and the 18th green were all open. Saw the cart attendant a few times. The halfway house was also open, as was the pop up tent after hole 3. We walked the course but almost everyone else took power carts (C.P.O) that looked nice. Views were as promised, so if you get the chance take it all in. Pace was amazing at 4.25 hours, I’d say be prepared for 5+ but who could ever complain about spending TOO MUCH time here. A bucket list course if ever there was one.

Played 7/29/20 1030am- walking. I can't say enough about this course... I'm glad that I was able to play it before I got too old and my golf game deteriorated. Everything about the course was amazing! First tee is a little anxiety inducing because there are so many people around, after that it's not bad. Tee boxes were all level, fairways were carpet and balls sat up nicely. Rough was not that penal, but it was sticky and can turn your clubface open. Sand traps were the only thing that had minor issues (COVID- no rakes). There were footprints all over the 5 I was in- no biggy. They did have several groundskeepers working on the fairway bunker on hole 9. The greens were superb! The forecaddies go around and make sure that they fix anything they find. The greens were smooth (10ish? on the stimp). The greens look so large on TV but are tiny in real life (especially the 18th green)... Wind was only 5 mph and was not a factor. I got distracted with the views and took way too many selfies. Don't get too hung up on the price, this is an experience!
