Played Thursday 1/29 early tee time. With a weak fog lingering on the front yielding to sunny skies as we turned. POP 4:10 riding. Seasonal fog kept the 40 degree temps around and layering was important. $53 with cart joining a long established weekly group of seniors I had played with a few years back. Listed M-Th $61

Course was damp with morning dew. Through the green damp not many if any muddy areas a few clumps. Long time wet areas (like approach on #1) drainage added this winter. Some of the briar patches also addressed this winter. Notably right side of 7. Still shots out of the ample corridors are goners. Tee boxes good all flat with #7 white redone and grown out just needing to be mowed. Without leaves on the mature trees hard to tell but I think some work on those as well to allow more sunlight. Seems more open summer will tell.

Greens good in-line with rates. A bit slower and a few ball marks as expected at this public course privately owned. Fairways in winter condition. The bunkers are variable I was in one greenside which was fine.Fairway bunker on LS 18 was being worked on and unmarked but we played it as obvious GUR. Others appeared fine, but my partners commented not enough sand.

Dig deeper into other reviews for details if you need more. Final word the consistency of conditions from year to year and season to season is what stands out to me. Recommend.

Played early out Saturday 18 on the 18th with near perfect weather. Cool light breeze later on the back 9 and no river fog which can be troublesome in certain seasons here. It's been awhile according to my last posted reviews here (2019?) Seems I might have played once in between, I digress.

Easy check-in and booking calling into the proshop after seeing the only early time I liked in the area scouting golfnow online. Saved $10 @ $69 using the walking option. A single broke off from a three some in front of us on #1. We followed them as two since our other pair were no shows. Made for good pace take your time enjoy the walk. A tourney must have been held the day before empty table and chairs on many holes. Bonus leftover carafe of margarita with limes and cups on the 10th tee. Waste not want not wasn't horrible!?

Course amazingly consistent remembering prior play years back and similar playing conditions to the last review by Mko. I have been playing here since moving to CA in 2002 and I discussed this with my buddy. We have played here and had good times over 20+ years now.
For that I tip my cap to the ownership group with courses from here near the Sac airport to Truckee CA. At any of the venues (5) good valued fun experiences.

Today a little dew slowed the roll out in the short stuff. The greens fully healed from aerification and rolling the usual med-slower be aggressive on the uphills, less break than you read. I hit it shorter now, helped keep errant shots out of the edges.
Losing two balls < than usual.
Bunkers a bit thin and wet. Some wet areas through the green with recent fall rainy days.

Good fun and value, as expected recommend.

Made it out to Teal Bend this past week with two work colleagues and wanted to thank those who supplied me with some good tips before playing there. And yes, the road to Teal Bend is quite an adventure as you have to exit the highway at the airport and then navigate some roundabouts before getting there, but once you do, it's pretty nice. The property itself is pretty great as there are no houses around the course whatsoever and absolutely every hole is framed by forest and colorful autumn nature. We experienced a myriad of weather patterns on the day so we saw the course at its best and worse from that standpoint. It's not what I would consider terribly narrow, but most every hole has lost ball potential if you go too far right or left. There's just no finding balls in that thicket. But the layout is very fun and engaging and really a good but fair test of golf. Unfortunately the current conditions sort of let the rest of the scenery all down as it's not in optimum shape at the moment. The fairways are good, far from great, but have lots of thinner areas despite all the precipitation up there. The greens were mostly okay but many had piles of dirt core samples around them from a rather annoying apron punch that wasn't cleared. Often approach shots or chips would not reach the green thanks to this and that was frustrating. Bunkers were actually mostly in good shape with lots of fluffy sand on the holes that I encountered, but as it had rained the past days, a few of them were a bit on the grainy side and one or two even had some standing water left. The rough was hard to find as most of the holes had just fairway and wilderness, but where it was, it was good and playable. Tee boxes (we played the blue-white combo) were mostly all good. Would absolutely love to play this place again in perfect summer conditions. POP was okay as we got out a bit early thanks to the starter after around twenty minutes on the quite nice (and grass) driving range, but the group in front of us was not exactly setting the world afire with their pace, but it wasn't enough to be too upset about. We played the round in about four and a half hours at the end of the day - perfectly okay. With a greens fee of only $57 though, it was all well worth it. Again, would love to come back here when it's prime and really enjoy all it has to offer. It's a good day out if you get there, but hopefully they clear up those dirt core piles soon!

Played 10/15, 10:20 tee time. Warm fall day, course was in nice shape. A handful of wet areas in fairway, and a few small patches of GUR in out of the way areas, but nothing that impacted play. Fairways and rough generally in nice shape overall. Tee boxes had a few uneven spots and some areas a bit chewed up with divots. Greens were rolling true and looking good after recent aeration. Still a bit sandy, but recovered nicely and weren't overly quick. Pace was fine, got around in 4:40 or so with a stop at the turn. Course is one of the best layouts in the area, with natural areas (red stakes) interspersed between each fairway along every hole. Bring a few extra golf balls. Grass range and great short game practice area as well. Good value and one of my favorite tracks in the area. Worth the visit every time.

This is my go to public course when it rains, as it drains phenomenally well. The great majority of the course was mostly dry. A few soft spots in the rough. Fairways completely playable. Greens a little soft, and moderately fast (10 on the stimp). Only a handful of bunkers with standing water. The 1 greenside bunker I was in was perfectly fluffy (plugged). Nice cold morning. Covid: cups were with no lift, so that was annoying after being so used to not having to reach down all the way to the bottom of the cup. Nice round of golf

Second round of my golf weekend with an old Vegas work buddy on Saturday, 11/9/19, at 1050 am on a warm, sunny day with almost no wind. We played with a MeetUp group he belongs to and played Whites in just over 4 hours. Rudyclub’s recent review hits the high points. Greens were punched several weeks ago and had healed well – greens had good coverage and rolled well at medium+ speed.

There is a nice 3-tierd grass driving range with assorted targets. Basic carts, and no GPS, but a yardage book is available, and most fairways have 200/150/100 markers. Plenty of divot mix available, refill rack at the turn, and boxes of mix on the par-3 tees. Recommended for a casual round.
