Hey Flying_Fossil, if you thought Meadowlark was a goat farm 6 months ago, you'll still hate it! Personally, I don't think there is a course in OC that can compare for the $$. Keep playing Costa Mesa, and I'll continue paying half as much and be able to walk on Saturday afternoon. I called Saturday morning at 9:45 and got a 1:24 tee time. Granted, the pace was a tad slow, but a 5 hour round can be expected at the less-costly courses in OC. I love that everyone bad-mouth's Meadowlark...more room for me!

Oh, forgot to mention in my previous ranting that I played a whopping 9 holes in a record-setting 3 hours and 20 minutes! Woo-hoo! I should get some sort of prize for that nonsense!

This place SUCKS! I've been playing Costa Misery for years, and the place is getting worse every day. The course itself is in pretty good condition, but the "help" is for crap. Showed up as a single at 1:05 on Saturday. The starter said the wait would be 20-30 minutes. I figured this would be a tad longer, as it was Saturday and all. I FINALLY teed off with a mix-and-match 5-some at 2:40. The opening hole is a par 5. There were 3 groups playing the hole and another 2 waiting. By the 7th hole, the group in front of us was an entire hole behind (read: NO ONE on the 8th!) We caught a marshall (or better described as some guy riding around on a red cart with his head up his rear) and asked him to move the group ahead of us to a resonable pace. His reply was to "either go start on 1 again, or skip ahead to 10". What the hell kind of response is this?!
I am SO over Costa Misery...I will NEVER give them my hard-earned dollars again! You should do the same. Go play Meadowlark, where at least they try to keep some sort of pace. Wait, better yet, DON'T play Meadowlark, 'cause that's where I'll be!!

Played Monday 1/17 (MLK Day). Course was just as I remembered...Tee boxes were so-so, fairways and rough were average, and greens were a tad bumpy. Weather was great again...windy when we tee'd off, but died soon after that, leaving a perfect SoCal winter day. Course isn't anything to write home about, but $28 to ride at twilight worked out well. Fun local course.

Anyone with me in saying good riddance to the heavy rains?! I'm jonesing to play, but don't want to slosh my way through 18. Really looking forward to the benefits of the rain, though!

Played on Thanksgiving...course was in good shape. Greens were very bumpy and sandy, but this was my only complaint. Beautiful view of Mt. Baldy and all the snow! Be sure to bring your straight game, as there are MANY houses lining the course.

Played Friday the 13th…how appropriate that the starter welcomed us with, “Play at your own risk”. He didn’t finish the sentence before we saw several lightning strikes in the distance and a thunderous clap of thunder! We played anyway and never got touched by one drop of rain. The course was in excellent shape, with the exception of the greens. Apparently, there had been some sort of electrical problem and the greens were fertilized, but not watered. All in all, it was a fantastic outing. I look forward to playing the course again in a couple of months, once the greens recover.

Loved Tijeras Creek! Course was in immaculate condition. Greens played to a 9.2 on the stimpmeter and were dead-eye accurate. Would have liked a bit more "full-service" from the staff (bag drop, club cleaning, etc.) and wish I knew so many of the holes were cart path only, but all in all it was a great track!
