Was invited by buddy to walk Santa Anita yesterday @ 12:35 pm with his 2 other buddies. In 90 degree heat, it was a tough walk, but my lazy butt needed the exercise.

The course is only in fair shape. The mowers must of been smoking too much weed before they came to work as there is patches of rough in the middle of the fairway....tee boxes were unlevel and not mowed. The greens were slooow...running at 6 on my imaginary STIMPmeter. The rough was thick and lush in some parts. Jeff, the starter, cashier, bartender, and snack shop attendant is always a pleasure to deal with and super hard worker. Snack shop was open and bar was open for outdoor drinks. They seem very busy, which is great for the golf business in general.
Played at 12 pm today with 3 buddies. One of them made a hole in one on Hole#9 with gap wedge even with raised cups. He is a GKer too!

Excited for him, but bummed we could not celebrate. Raincheck!

Greens were firm and fast running around 10. Courses in great shape. Fairways and rough all well maintained.

Single carts and face mask required around staff. Snack shop and restrooms were open. Current rack rate is $64 and a steal for the quality course you get.
Out yesterday with fellow GKer Larryq2001 and two other buddies. Single carts and face mask required in clubhouse and practice areas. Restaurant is open and snack shop also open. Beautiful day in Orange County with temps 10 degrees cooler than the IE.

Seems that golfers in OC are a little more relaxed regarding face coverings. I saw many groups in shared golf carts with no social distancing. The course did a good job cleaning and making carts available.

We all rode in single riding carts.

Course was in fair shape. Greens were a little bumpy, and quicker than they look at about 9 on my imaginary STIMPmeter. Fairways had good coverage and the rough was not too penal other than the grabby grass catching the clubface. Traps were rakeless and fair. Layout was more interesting back 9 compared to front. 9. Snackshop was well stocked and decently priced including $5 shot kinda snack shop.... Overall, a nice day with friends and got to get some great Vietnamese food nearby because we were very close to Little Saigon.

Paid $39 prepaid and than $15 for cart. Just happy Miles Square and golf industry in general is getting lots of business.
Got a chance to sneak out yesterday with fellow GK er larryq2001 and couple of friends. First several greens were sanded and not in good shape. The greens after hole 4 were in better shape running around 8.5/9. Fairways were in average winter shape. Mix of grass and occasional weeds. The turf was extremely hard and dry making for great rollout on drives but numbing contact on irons. Rough and tee boxes and traps were fine. POP was 2.5 hrs front and 2.15 back for 4.45 total. Not bad for Friday afternoon. We saw cart girl once and snack shop had good deals on breakfast. Drinks after round were pleasant and customer service was fine.
Finally got a chance to get out yesterday at Industry Hills Babe course. Considering we didn't have a frost delay given the 30's temps in the San Gabriel Valley, the course was in good winter conditions. The greens were mostly smooth and running around 9/10. Fairways had good coverage. Tee boxes could use some leveling, but overall course is in good shape. The only weakness would be the sand traps. They could of used more sand. Cart gal came around a few times and POP was 4.45 hours. Slow for a Tuesday, but not unbearable. Even though this is a shorter course, it certainly plays tough and requires accuracy. Customer service was excellent and current promotion rate of $49 is still one of the best deals around.
Joined a buddy and his two friends at Westridge. Have not played this course in over 7 years. As i approached the cart area, they were letting out two 5 somes ahead of us at 11:45 am. I dreaded that sight and knew we were in for a long day. You would never believe this, but we tee’d off at 12 pm and finished in 4 hrs 15 minutes. Un...believable. I was shocked. Sadly, POP was the only highlight of today. Greens were slow, running at 7.5/8. Fairways and rough was a mix of dirt, weeds, and grass. Sand traps were average and mostly unraked. Thank goodness your 1st beer after round at bar is $1. Next time, skipping golf and going straight to bar.
Last minute free up of schedule allowed myself to tee it up with larryq2001 at 9:30 am today. Customer service was excellent. Spoke to pro shop attendant and he mentioned they post 6 to 8 tee times a day on golfnow. This a members only club. Not too crowded and real pleasant conditions today. Greens were smooth and held shots like darts with occasional back up. The speed was around 10 with some crazy undulations. Don't let the scorecard distance fool you,
The course has teeth for a par 70. They are punching next week. Some holes in back nine were ridiculously tight. Fairways, rough, tee boxes and traps all in good/great country club shape. Nice change of scenery. Give it a go if you are in area.
Made the annual trek to Oak Quarry to play this wonderful layout. Online app with Oak Quarry provided discounted tier tee times. We got a rate of $45.

The course is in great summer shape. Green were rolling smooth around 9.5/10. The tricky pull/breaks to the Quarry (East/Southeast) make local knowledge a must here. Lots of unique blend of holes here in a spectacular setting. Fairways had plenty of coverage and lots of roll. Rough was pretty much non-existent and the bunkers were a mixed bag. Some fairway bunkers were hard pan with standing water. Some greenside bunkers were fluffy and adequate. Tee boxes were fine and customer service was really good. Take a look at their happy hour drink and food specials. No cart service today, but take advantage of the snack shop at the turn with food and drink specials. The carts guys that clean and shuttle your clubs add a luxury feel to this course. I enjoyed playing with larryq2001 as usual and two of his long time buds. Look forward to returning soon!
Great day at Trump National. Spectacular views that never gets old. Politics aside, this is a nice high end LA course worth a special occasion visit. Great customer service from valet guys to beautiful hostess and friendly cart area guys and food and beverage staff. Worth the splurge especially since I took my brother out for his bday. Greens were smooth running toward ocean at 11 and away from ocean at 8! Layout is fun Pete Dye with super tight fairways and penal hazards on both sides of fairways. Accuracy is ultra premium. Rough, fairways and traps all in great shape. I forgot to mention this when I wrote my review last night. Trump National proudly displays that they won Best Los Angeles Playing Conditions on their website and golf cart Gps as an advertisement!
Played at 9:30 am today. Conditions were good. Greens were very smooth and putted around 8.5/9. Fairways had good coverage and plenty of grass. Rough was thick and juicy and traps were above average. POP was 4.5 hrs. Drinks and food service was pleasant with $5 breakfast sandwich special. Layout is great mix of holes with annoying power lines that run throughout course. One of the better conditioned course in the area.
Out at Santa Anita this morning at 9:30. Customer service was pleasant.
Greens were average shape running inconsistently between 7 and 8. Fairways had decent coverage but rough was a mix of hard pan and weeds. Tee boxes were not level and craters everywhere. POP was 4.5 hrs. Sand traps were actually decent and they were adding sand to some of them. Location makes this course convenient to play, but look elsewhere if you like average to good lies.
Great day of golf with GK group! Thank you JohnnyGK for invite. Enjoyed playing with Nick, Greg and Larry. The match between Nick and Greg was super competitive and ruthless as even 9 inch putts were not conceded! :)

Oak Creek was in great summer shape. Aprons around greens were closely mowned. Sand traps tatoo’d the golf course. Some traps were super fluffy while others, the greenskeeper just forgot or gave up. Large sand traps but more rakes are needed here. I know because i found a bunker almost every hole.

Layout was spectacular. Mostly just loooong ass holes framed with mountain vistas. Hard to imagine you are in the city of Irvine. Greens were running around 9.5/10. Fairways had excellent coverage. Back nine featured green-side fans that made putting more daunting. Some pin positions were tucked in large undulating green.

Customer service was excellent as all employees were polite and helpful. Nice to feel appreciated. Food and drink service was fast and efficient. They keep the restaurant open just for our group and split the bill up by table after I asked them to.

Will return with GK coupons!!
