Greens are in decent shape except for a few bare spots on the back 9. Bunkers are bad with super shallow sand and little pebbles. Fantastic mountain views. Nice course.

Torrey Pines South is in good shape except for the greens which are very slow and bumpy at times. Tough to make putts since you don't know if the ball is going to follow your line. Everything else is in decent shape.

This course is in OK shape. The greens are outstanding, but the fairways and rough need a little TLC. Played on a Sunday morning and the round took 3.5 hours. Awesome GPS system that other courses should aspire to have.

This course is in OK shape. The greens and bunkers are in decent shape, but the fairways and rough need some help. Lots of browning and quite a few bare spots. The greens are fairly slow and smooth for the most part. Bunkers are nice with good sand. A fun course to play. Flat, except for 2 holes which go straight up and straight down. Not bad for the cost. Check the local newspaper for coupons.

Played Saturday morning. Very fun course with lots of nice views. Pretty much a straightforward tee to green design with some fun holes mixed in. Bling tee shots, lakes, waterfalls, elevation changes... Fairways are pretty wide, but a few are narrow for risk-reward. Would play again, but will bring more water next time. It's hot out there.

All greens are in great shape. Smooth, soft, and medium fast. Fariways are OK. Mission 9 had the best fairways and rough with minor thin areas. Presidio 9 was next with only a few bare spots. Friars 9 had many bare spots both in the fairways and rough. Tee boxes were lush. Only a few had minor divot damage. All were relatively level. Bunkers were great once they dried out. Customer service is tops. Worth playing at least once.

Greens are in great shape. smooth and soft, but medium fast. Fairways and rough are pretty beat up with a lot of divot damage and bare spots. Bunkers are good. The sand is fluffy. If only the players would rake them properly. Weekend play took 5 hours. Seemed like it took 7. I guess it comes with the territory for being an inexpensive muni.

The course is in great shape. Greens were smooth, but slow. I learned from JohnnyGK that most courses' greens are longest on Mondays because of their cutting schedule. Fairways and rough are pretty lush. Bunkers are in great shape. Very well maintained for the amount of traffic.
Very nice layout which gives the feeling of being the only group out there even though we were waiting to hit on a couple of holes. Can't beat it with the twilight resident rate of $25.

This course is in terrible shape. Fairways and rough were really thin with MANY bare spots. I'd say the only thing that was OK were the greens. They were actually fairly smooth and held approach shots well. Customer service was horrible. Whoever was working the counter on the afternoon of 5/16/4 was a real piece of work. The guy gave my friend and I major attitude and was very discourteous.

Another thing about this course is that many of the holes are too close together. There were 3 occasions where my group was either on the tee or on a green and a ball came withing 10 feet of hitting one of us. It didn't help that none of the players yelled fore when they knew their ball was headed toward other players.

Overall, I'm very disappointed I played this course yesterday and I won't be returning any time soon. Definitely not worth the $28 non-resident fee. Unless you enjoy being talked down to and being hit by golf balls from 150yards out!

The course is in super shape. The only thing I would change are the bunkers. Seems like the greenskeeper likes to water them a lot. A couple of them were like sidewalks. Other than that, everything else was great. Greens were fairly quick and smooth for the most part. Fairways were well taken care of. The rough is a little longer than the last time I played. About 4-5inches in most spots. Can't beat the resident twilight rate!

Can't beat the $17 twilight rate. Finished play in about 4.5 hours. The course is in great shape. Better than the south in my opinion. Greens were smooth and med to fast. Fairways were in great shape. The rough length varied from hole to hole, but I'd say the average was about 3-4 inches. Some bunkers were a little moist, but most were dry and firm. A few tee boxes were slighlty sloped, but nothing too bad.

Blue tees were pushed as far back as they could on almost all the holes which made the course a bit tougher, but more fun! Overall a great round.

Paid $34 for the North course, but was asked to play the South. No problemo... Course is in great shape. The only two things I would complain about are... first, the ballmarks on the greens. No one seemed to be fixing them. #18 looked like a minefield. Second, a few of the tee boxes are slightly sloped. Nothing too bad.
Fairways are nice, the rough is playable along the fairways and gets longer and deeper around the greens. Play took 5 hours. Not bad considering it's a weekend and I was paired with the last group of a tournament. Something I have to mention is my playing partner commenting on how wonderful the service was at this course.
All I have to say is I'm glad I live in La Jolla.
