Our group plays the North course most of the time and it clearly is not in great shape. The maintenance all day during the round disrupts any enjoyment the course might offer. Pouring of fertilizer while you are hitting into the green is unacceptable, workers driving motorized carts all over is also disruptive. Many, many bare spots and muddy lies. This is not summer, no need to water the course as such. Overall this course has gone downhill over the last couple of years and is not worth the green fee in its current condition. I wish I could be more positive but this is getting more like El Prado than one of the better courses in the valley.

Having played both Desert Willow courses regularly it is a bit frustrating to not write a completely positive review. A number of the greens on the Mountain View course had significant heat damage and burned out spots especially where the pins were located. Considering the green fees to play Desrt Willow the staff should at least advise players that the greens are not in excellent playing condition - it is only fair to advise players if their experience is impacted by bad greens. In short they need to improve the quality of the greens to equal the rest of the course conditions.

While the reviews of El Prado are average at best it is clear that keeping your expectations are low and you should not be disappointed. With that said, the greens remain the worst part of this course. They need to be cut tighter and STOP WATERING them. They are bumpy and have NOT fully recovered from airifying. They apparently believe the course is worth raising the price without making any new improvements since they raised rates 4/26..

I have noticed a number of previous reviews of Terra Lago were not too flattering. The South course recently reopened for the fall and is in very good shape. The greens were very smooth and running at a good speed. The fairways were in places thin where they have had issues with mud in the fairways otherwise they were well groomed and in great shape for winter play. Worth your time to go out and enjoy desert golf.

Course is in overall good shape but the greens continue to experience severe unrepaired ball marks. One issue that seems to go unchecked is slow play. I have yet to see anyone marshaling the speed of slow play and the pro shop seems somewhat uninterested in customer satisfaction. Otherwise this is a great course that could use more management oversite.

As with most desert courses the transition into summer conditions can change the way a course plays significantly, Desert Willow has some of the best year round conditions in the Palm Desert area. The only exception is the greens were recently punched with 1/4" airification holes and will not be completely healed for a couple of weeks. Other than that the course will not disappoint you.
