Played back 9 on 7/7 morning. The course condition is very good right now. Best i've seen on this course. Fairways are pretty god. However, the greens were way too firm. Didn't hold any shot, even wedge shots. Pace of play was normal to slow.

Played 7/5 morning. This is a nice track with challenging layout (elevation changes). However, IMO, unlike some ridiculously designed course in Corona area with hills and elevation changes, this is a fair and enjoyable course. It makes you use all clubs in your bag. Pace of play was normal. I had split impression about the condition. The fairway and rough were excellent. Although there were some divot marks, the fairway was very lush and balls sit up nicely. Same for rough - well maintained. The greens were well maintained but it was too slow for my liking. The bad - sand and tee boxes. Sand traps were wet and too hard. In one of the holes, the green side bunker felt like hitting a hard pan. Some tee boxes were not level. But nevertheless I enjoyed playing this course.
You will enjoy this course if you like challenging hilly course.

Played Sat 6/30 for the first time at Goose Creek. Wow! Now I can see why this course is called THE hidden jem of Southern California. The green and fairway quality is, IMO, better than Tustin Ranch. Very impressed that the staff at Goose Creek can keep the condition this good in the middle of Inland Empire where it's hot and dry. You can see that they care about the course and about the experience the golfers have on their course. I was blown away by the quality and it is absolutely worth the green fee. I paid the rack rate of $75 (with cart) but it was worth it. You can find discount on their website.
The layout is not easy but also fair at the same time. There is no water except the 18th, but most of holes have hazard (for example creek) that runs along one side. So putting your tee shot in the middle is important. The layout is not boring at all and keeps you engaged.
My only complaint (well, not really complaint but my own struggle) was that I played from Blue tee and all par 3's were long par 3's with > 180 yards. Maybe i should have played from whites. And there are couple of holes (I think they were aound 6th ~ 8th holes) where there are plenty of little flies flying around. But hey, you're playing in Norco area. Just don't open your mouth wide :).
Overall, this is the best quality public golf course that i have played in the price range. It is worth every dollar of green fee you pay. This will be my go-to course whenever I play in the Inland Empire area.

Played yesterday (Monday) morning. Pace of play was 4:30 hrs which is long for Monday morning. But i played behind their club member tournament (behind a group of slow playing seniors), so it's understandable. The course conditions are gradually getting better. Green condition is very good. However, they started punching the back nine greens without announcing. So beware.

Had a rounding on 2/18/12 morning as i was visiting the area. Had a frost delay for 30 minutes. Very cold in the morning. Customer service was good. Gave us a bucket of balls for free for the delay. There were many thin and bare spots on the fairways, and there was no water or lake on the course (they are dried up). But this is somewhat understandable for high desert during winter. Greens were dormant but ok. It was just very hard due to cold weather. For pace of play, my twosome was the first one out and we finished under 3.5 hours. So can't complaint. I will play Green Tree next time i'm in the area and do a comparison.

Only reason I play Rancho San Joaquin is because it's the only inexpensive course around in my town without driving out. This course is known for slow play and poor management, but last Saturday was the worst that I have experienced. My teetime was 11:52am. I got there and noticed 6 to 7 groups lined up at the first tee. Then, they got the groups and the orders mixed up. We finally got out at 12:45pm. Almost an hour later! And every hole, there was wait. And yet we never saw a ranger marshalling or trying to speed up the pace. This golf course is really poorly managed, and it was apparent that they only care about making money. I wish they would spend some effort managing and improving the quality of golfers' experience. I was really disappointed.

Played Westridge in La Habra on 12/17. This was my first time playing here since 2009. The course condition has improved a lot. Greens and fairways were in good condition. Sandtraps were excellent. There were couple of tee boxes that needed work, but overall was ok. Last time I was there, the pace of play was terrible with over 5 hours. This time it was 4-1/2 hrs on Sat morning. So pace of play has improved as well. Only thing missing was the cart girl. Didn't see one all morning. Overall, good job for the management for turning the course around and I will definitely be back.

Played 11/3. This course has the best birthday deal. B-day person plays free (with free lunch and free range ball) and everyone in the group plays member's rate. For two of us, we only paid $65 to play with cart. Can't beat that kind of discount.
Overall, considering the time of year, course is in very good condition. Tee boxes are level and lush and greens are well maintained and fast (be aware, there are many tiered greens).
The course design could be bland because there are holes that look similar and repetitive. However, there are few holes that are interesting and challenging - ones that have water in play.
Service is always nice.
If your birthday is coming up or you have a friend whose birthday is coming up, make sure to take advantage of the discount!

Played Sat 10/30 9 am (after rain). I was very pleased with what the new management has done with this course. Last time I played was last year and I was very disappointed back then. Wow, what a difference. The course maintenance has improved tremendously (almost day and night difference) since last year. Pace of play was little over 4.5 hours, which is not bad for sat in SC. With golfnow.com deal at primetime, combined with excellent course conditions and good service (their clubhouse food is good too), it was worth the price 110%. Would recomend for anybody. And, you can't beat the view at the 18th hole tee box!
