Played here back in February but thought I should mention want an awesome place this is. Hopefully more peeps from SoCal will get down there.

Went down with 15 friends and did it up pretty good. All three 9's are fantastic but the Ocean 9 is their claim to fame. Bring your camera, you'll be snapping a ton of photos. All were in above average muni condition, I would assume they are the same if not better now. Perfect place to go down with friends, beers are cheap, $9 carne asada tacos at the turn, and great service. Don't expect the Ritz for accomodations but for a group of guys they are perfectly fine. Paid $125 each for golf/accomodations, breakfast, and welcome cocktail. Played an extra round at $65.

The pro down there set us up and put up with some of my friends who will never break 100 and were basically there for the beer. Bobcats are all over the place, even witnessed one scoop up a duck on the practice green while eating breakfast.

Get down there if you can. Roads are great and safe. Bajamar even gives you a pass to get back across the border, takes the border line from 2 hours to 15 minutes, sweet!

Played Monday 6/3 with an underpar voucher for two players for $61. Well worth the $30.50. Played here ages ago and had forgotten what a great track it is. Got paired up with a local who helped out a lot. You can definitely lose some balls here and local knowledge goes a long way. Once I put the driver away things went much smoother.
Here's my take on the course:
Layout: Loved it, challenging but fair. Houses line portions of the course along with farms, nurseries, goats, etc.
Greens: Medium speed. pretty beatup with ball marks and poorly repaired ball marks but they still rolled okay. It's a shame that people can't repair their ball marks.
Fairways: Good, they are still recovering and will be perfect in a week or so.
Tees: Great
Bunkers: Was in a bunch and found them all to be in good shape. Only one was a little bare underneath the top layer.
Service: great, Henry the starter gave us the low down on the course and was very personable.

Kind of a haul to get there but well worth it. Very fun course.

Played Primm on Tues 5/21 on our way out of Vegas. Can't believe I've driven by this gem so many times while heading in and out of vegas.

Course was in great shape, although greens were a bit firm and bumpy. Not used to the greens in the desert, could n't get the usual one hop and stop on my wedges. I think they were getting ready to punch the greens. It isn't your typical desert course, didn't lose a ball when two days prior I lost a sleeve at the Badlands. Very pretty course, no houses, no nothing out there.

My main complaint was the bunkers. Very compact, not the usually fluffy sand. I lost at least two shots in the bunkers.

Whenever I have time I'll definitely stop in for a round of golf. Looking forward to playing the desert course.

What a treat to play a course with lush fairways and good greens. So many courses in SD didn't over seed I was getting tired of thin, bare, overall crappy lies. Played Torrey the day after the farmers and Balboa is not too far off. Get out there now, they'll be punching the greens in late April. Best value in SD, paid $19 twilight to walk.
