Played Sunday 7/14. Fisrt let me say the course is very playable. We played early and if you do the same be advised the greens will be wet (not mowed and rolled). I had a grreat time but it was more about the playing partner and the fact that I shot 77 than the course conditions. Again - more than playable, but I was amazed at how many divots I had to fix on greens. Greens were good but a lot of ball marks. The greens were soft and receptive. Fairways were a little overwatered and brown in spots but overall fine. Bunkers were all dragged and raked which surprised me. They put that much effort into the bunkers but not the greens??? At $65 it's a little pricey for the conditions, but the soure plays fine. If you haven't played it the signature hole is 17. Risk reward! It's a par 5 that you can play safe to the left and make it a 3 shot par 5 or you can take on the water and bunkers to theb right. Clear it and you have a middle iron in. Miss and you can make a big number. No issues with the course, just wish it was in a little better shape. It has all the amenities as far as range putting dinning, etc. Lastly, if you are bothered by draginflies don't come here. They were everywhere. At leat this time of year. Other times of year they actually have bug spray on the first tee. FYI

Played the course July 7. Course is in really good shape and the staff is friendly. Greens are not as fast as they look and don't break as much as you think. We played the blues and I was impressed with the tee boxes. Most were flat and lush (a couple were a little chewed up). Greens were very receptive. The rough is a little grabby but very playable. This course gives you plenty of opportunities to score which makes it fun. As you play the course you should enjoy the juorney throught the mature oaks withm water on 7 holes. Then it comes down to the signature 18th hole. A split fairway with water in the middle. Going down the left side is the shortcut, but tighter landing area. Bailing out right usually leaves a middle to long iron in. This approach shot always seems to play longer than the yardage so keep that in mind. Definetly worht the $47 we paid on Sunday.

Played Turkey Sunday 6/30 and it was smokin hot outside. Triple digits! Overall the course was in really good shape. Fairways we lush and the greens were mostly soft. The only draw back I could see on the course was the bunkers, Because of the heat they gave the course plenty of water and it showed in the bunkers. All the bunkers I saw were saturated and a few had some standing water. They were playable just thick wet sand (not that I was in the bunkers of course ;-). Let me also say in this kind of heat it's a great course to play - plenty of trees and shade. They layout is fun as it winds through the woods and no houses on the course. There are a few holes that have a bit of elevation change and two signature holes (if that's possible). #3 is a short par 3 with an elevated teebox that requires you to carry water all the way. It's facing right back at the club house and the putting green so everyone can see. #18 is a little quirky par 4. Kind of an S shape. It's not a depending on the tees your playing it's probably not a driver hole. straight out the fairway ends at a severe drop off before turning to the left and then back to the right. There's water left and long off the tee and then water shor t and right on the approach. It's a fun hole, but I could also see how some may not like the design. The do have a nice range with matts and grass tees. up the hill behind the range is a practice green for chipping an bunker practice. All in all, I would recommend it. Fun layout and good conditions.

Course overall is in good shape. Greens were smooth, but not real fast. Bunkers had sand but a little wet. Rough is a bit mangey and thick. Tee boxes a little out of sorts but manageble. For the rate not bad and a beautiful design. Lots of mature oaks as the course weaves through the roseville development. some houses but not too many. It's worht the fee.

This is a great course with a fantastic layout. Sits in the foothills of Northern CA and provides many elevation changes, challenging holes and undulated greens. As for course conditions, right now they a re mediocre. Normally the course is in great shape, but right now it's a little shaggy. Greens are a little bumpy, tee boxes are pretty beat up and shaggy. Fairways were pretty firm as were the greens. I still enjoyed the round and it's very playable. I know they are punching this week so that should solve the green problem. Maybe over the next month they'll fix the tee boxes. Definite play, just wait 4 or 5 weeks.

Played Catta on 2-8-13 and again, the course is in great shape. The only drawback is that the course is semi private and public can only play after 11:00. Having said that, it's a challenging course that winds through the foothill oaks and creeks. The greens were in great shape, running pretty fast and smooth. This course is a green light. If you're considering playing, the conditions are great and you'll enjoy the layout.

Palyed the course many times so I'm writing this review just to give you an update on conditions. The fairways, tees, bunkers and rough are all in good condition. The greens rolled pretty good, but there was a lot of divot marks on most of the greens. this made them a little bumpy, but very playable. All in all the coursae is in pretty good shape and a good challenge. It's worth the price of admission. I will say, that the range is pretty beat up and we were basically hitting of of mud warming up.

Playing Pebble is a treat and we picked a perfect day. Low 60’s, sunny and not a lick of wind. To make it better, we took advantage of the NCGA offer of $100 off and $50 gift card for the club house. Let me start with the negatives and keep in mind I had a fantastic time. They are in the process of setting up for the AT&T (3 weeks from now) and let’s just say I don’t think the workers play golf. They certainly weren’t concerned about making noise. It only happened 3 or 4 times, but you’d think they would be a little more courteous. Then there was the bunkers and I’m being a little picky. Some bunkers were wet and heavy. Some bunkers had very little sand resulting in the club bouncing unexpectedly. Other than that, there’s not much to complain about. The course is awesome. We read the greens pretty well, but didn’t make a lot of putts. Tons left right around the hole. I’m certainly no expert on Pebble but there are a couple holes you should club up on your approach (14 and 18). Most everything does break towards the ocean. 7 plays one club less (depending on the wind). Do yourself a favor, stick some money aside and play this course at least once in your life. It’s a special place and it makes you feel special playing it.

Played the course on 5/18 and it was in great shape as usual. This course is majestic with the tall pines lining the fairways. The course definetly provides a challenge although it is not particularly long. Stray too far off the fairway and your best bet is to just get back to the fairway from the trees. Greens were immaculate. Awesome of the bunkers were a little soggy, but otherwise they were nice and fluffy. If I had to make one complaint about the course it would be the practice area. The range is fine, but the putting/chipping area is pretty small and can be crowded. The staff was very nice and friendly. I highly recommend you try this course, but do it soon! They are closing the course in early 2013 for a year long renovation. They anticipate opening it in the spring of 2014.

Played Wildhawk on Saturday 12/17. This time of year it's not uncommon to have a frost delay and we did. Once out on the course the conditions were decent. Don't get me wrong the course is in good shape, but the fairways are tight, the bunkers don't have a lot of sand, and the greens are a little beat up this time of year. I will give them credit for leveling out many of the tee boxes that were severely uneven. It's a short, fairly easy track that's usually in good shape. Combine that with the cost and this course will do in a pinch. It should lower your handicap.

Played HMB on 8/4/2011. It's a beautiful course perched on the coast just south of San Francisco. The day was overcast with marine layer and a steady mist, although not heavy enough to get us wet or bother our play. The course played great and the greens are perfect. Best greens I've seen in a long time. They were soft enough that you could firre at the flags and still rolled medium fast and true (9 or 10 I'm guessing). The bunkers surprisingly didn't have a lot of sand in them and they were a little wet but very playable. They fairways were firm and cut pretty tight. The finishing three holes are right on the coast and the signature 18th hole leads you to the Ritz Carlton which sits directly behind the green and is perched on the cliff overlooking the pacific. It's a very picturesque approach. This is a true links style course. Looks and feels like a british open type course. The rough is the same with tall grasses if you wander too far off the fairway. All in all it was a very enjoyable round on a great golf course. We had pretty calm conditions, but if the wind is blowing this course could be a beast. The staff was excellent (5 star). My only complaint about the course is that they don't have a driving range. Next time I'll see if there is something near by although I'm not sure there is. We played for $90 from golfnow.com otherwise the rack rate on the weekday is $165. It's a grreat course and will definetly play again.

I played Mather on Friday 7/29 and the course is in really good shape. For $38 with a cart it's well worth the price. They have a large driving range that is now lighted, a large putting area, but only a tiny liitle green for chipping and no practice bunker. Having said that the course is in fine form accept for a few issues. Greens are smoth, soft and fast. The only issue there is I repaired numerous divots on every hole. For some reason people don't repair their ball marks, but it wasn't so bad that it affected playability. The fairways and rough were in great shape. The sand was a little wet and some bunkers didn't have too much of it, but it was very playable. My one complaint about the course is that several tee boxes were either pretty beat up or severly uneven. Again, for $39 I'll make it work. The staff is very nice. I got there at 5:15am for a 6:07 tee time and since the pro shop wasn't open the guy pulling out carts gave me some free range balls to take up the time. The course is tree lined for the most part so you gotta keep it between the trees. I guess they figured the trees were enough because there are only 2 or 3 fairway bunkers on the entire course.
