played 6/28 afternoon walk on, (took the special and rode) Course in in very good condition. Greens were very receptive on approach shots. Just wish more people would fix their ball marks. The greens were very soft, so easy to repair, they rolled just fine. I have played this course many times, course knowledge goes a long way here. Pace of play was great, finished in 3 1/2 hours. Even waited a couple times mostly on the par threes. The fivesome in front of us were pretty quick really. Some of the tee areas are not level, there are flat spots but be aware and choose wisely. The sand, or lack there of, was consistent. Not too difficult to get out, but the club hit bottom pretty quick. I normally do not score low here, this time was different. I must have played smarter. Enjoyed it, I will return. This course can get really crowded, just got lucky I think, cause there weren't many out there this day.

Played Friday the 24th twilight. Crowded here, had to wait 45 minutes, but was quoted an hour. There are a couple nice practice areas though to kill some time. Slow play to start, they let fivesomes out, and our foursome was behind two in a row. Had to break off after five holes and do another route around the course. We did get to all the holes however. Some of the tee boxes are not level, so you had to pick a good spot. Greens were receptive on approaches, but were somewhat bumpy rolling the the rock. Medium speed. Fairways were ok, traps were fine, not too much sand in them, playable. Enjoyed the round, scored well. Generous fairways, not too penalizing in the rough. No beverage cart seen. Worth the green fee.

So I was surprised and pleased with what I experienced out at San Dimas today. Twilight round at 2:30 , It took only 3 hours forty minutes to get around, only had to wait a bit on a few holes. Good pace, there were three of us. This had been my biggest complaint last year. Today was great. Course is in very good condition. Greens looked like they had been punched, only by color on a few greens, they were very good rolling and only a few extra ball marks here and there. Traps had plenty of sand, the sand felt heavy though, like they had been watered down. Fairways were very nice, rough was acceptable, only a few bare spots. Overcast day, no beverage cart to be had out there, But the pace was quick and I didn't even miss it. Ok they have won me back, to try another day. Thank you.

only played the front nine, this course is in really bad shape, the fairways are terrible, the rough has ten different types of grasses. The bunkers were pretty good, the greens were undulated and slow, and a little bumpy. Layout of holes dictates slow play. Overall, there are many better choices out there. Not worth the green fee.

Played around 11am finished in 4 1/4 hours. The chino creek course is closed until further notice, so it makes this course a little more crowded. Wind was up, makes it way more difficult. 11th hole is closed due to flooding also. They called it a temp hole, a 65 yard shot to a flagstick with no attempt at all to make it a green, might as well skip that hole and move onto the next. Price was right at $28. Course is playable, but barely. Sorry to see this happen. Water levels were pretty high, they said chino creek was 20' deep water, don't know when or if it will reopen. A lot of mud everywhere. Fairways were ok, greens were full of ball marks, but rolled ok speed wise. Rough was tall in areas and around the greens. Sand traps looked thin and hard, didn't get to play out of any though. Drove the ball terrible today, so I really got to test out the rough. I will have to let this course heal some more before going there again. Starter was accommodating, but didn't mention the 11th.

One more review of the perfect day to golf at Oak Quarry. Never seen the course in this good a condition. They do a great job out here, start to finish. What more could you ask for? Ok well I guess they could give you free lessons. kidding.. just kidding really. The greens were not too fast today, some tricky breaks out there. You would really have to play here a lot to get the advantage. Fairways were as good as they could ever be. I can not comment on the sand traps as I were in none all day. Looked a little thin, even was told they were a little thin before we went out. Starter was on the spot not letting anyone slow up his schedule. Great service, wonderful layout. If you haven't had the pleasure to play here, make it a must play, the pictures in the magazines does not compare to actually being next to the quarry. Beautiful golf experience.

If it weren't for the management of the course, I would play here more often. It is a shame that they let fivesomes out and let them play from the rearward tees or do not police the pace of play. It took 5 hours and 35 minutes to get to hole 16. Darkness set in and that was it. It would have been about a 6 hour and 15 minute round or worse.
Course condition is really not that bad, except the ratty tee boxes. You really have to take advantage of the two club rule to find a place to tee up your ball. The bunkers, and I mean all of them, had two or three sets of footprints and there are rakes all over the place. Greens were rolling pretty good speed. No complaints there. I wish I could have a good experience here as it is so close to my house. Enough is enough, too many chances, I won't be back. I hope if you play here you get better service, cause it is about a ten percent chance you will.

Pace of play was pretty bad, But we were a couple groups in back of following a scramble tourney. So it was not a surprise. The greens were really bad, they are aerating. Slow extremely bumpy and sandy. The pin placement on every green was two paces from the edge, be it front, side , or back of the green. It made putting to them a headache. Hopefully when they have healed they will be true and fast, as I remember them being here. Until then, I won't be spending $51 to play this course again. There are some really long par four holes out there. Fairways are wide on a lot of them though.
Sand traps were many , but they had really good sand. The snack shack was closed when we went by around 3pm. We did see the beverage cart a few times as she raced by, to catch the tournament, I guess. BYO just in case. Enough elevation changes to warrant a cart, cause we played earlier in the day and needed to ride on this one. Good layout of many of the holes, not a boring course at all.

First out of the gates, wet and dark, surprisingly fast greens in the morning. I found them to be true and rolled nicely. Only a couple of the greens had ball mark catastrophe, what happened? It was like there were too many to fix, so everyone just gave up. Course is fair, but your driver has to be in tune, as there are many tree lined fairways ready to get in your way. A few rounds here and you will figure out which side to aim at to avoid the large trees that could get in the way for your approach shot. Or ask Dave to play.
Sand traps were well stocked, but the sand was wet and heavy, not unexpected that early. Pace of play was perfect, well obviously for us, but I didn't see anyone waiting anywhere on the course. $40 to walk on Friday.

Played a twilight round Tuesday, walked. 3 hrs 40 Min as a threesome. I thought the course was in better shape than expected, after reading the last review. The course is green everywhere with only a few very small patches of dry grass. The tee areas are in need of repair. I found the fairways to be very good. The rough was good, the traps were adequate. The course has had a lot of water, grass was mushy in a few areas. The greens were soft, slow, and bumpy. Almost every approach shot to the green made a large hole and spun back, more than I ever remember here. I have played this course quite a bit over the years, those greens had me fooled. The breaks are very tricky. Head scratchers really. I did not enjoy the speed of the greens, especially after playing Monarch dunes and lost canyons recently. I can see that they have been working on this course. If they can get the greens more firm , it would be a better experience. Fair price for what you get. I will play here again.

played 8/9 early morning special before 7 am. good price. Bad choice. first the good, price was right, bunkers were perfect, greens were better than average, weather was perfect. The bad, starter said he kept calling, but both myself and the other single I paired up with didn't hear a thing, I believe his microphone was not working. So we started at 7:10, not that big a deal. Problem.. they let fivesomes out on this course, even early in the morning to hold up everybody for the whole day. Absolutely ridiculous. Course marshal just said that's the way it goes. The tee boxes were a mess and not level on about 7 holes at least. It is a shame, this course could do so much better. It is the closest course to my house, they won't be seeing me in the near future. Not much of a review of the course, I know, cause the course itself is fine, short of the horrendous tee areas. Just be forewarned about the pace of play, cause it just isn't any fun.

played Monday 8/2, went out as a single, riding, finished in three hours, no kidding. Passed a foursome on the third hole and then didn't catch another twosome til 11th hole. played behind them the rest of the way in. They were pretty quick. This course is fantastic. Service is great from the start through the finish. The clubhouse is elevated from the course and the first hole looks like a par five, as it looked like nobody reached the green in two shots. In fact it is a par four, but with the large lake along the whole hole, and a long second shot to the green it is a challenge. I came up short myself.
The greens are a real pleasure, or torture if you don't have the right speed, they are fast but very true rolling. Trouble spots all over the place with what seems to be natural terrain, but the way the whole planned community around this course is layed out, it is a landscape masterpiece. you'll see. The layout is very fun and keeps you wondering what the next hole will bring, there are lakes, doglegs, uphills, downhills, short par three's, medium par three's and yes, long par three's. from the tee it looks more narrow than it is, but you do have to navigate away from some really tall trees.
Bunkers are well placed, and best to stay out of trouble everywhere on the course. I could see high scores, but rewarding scores for good play. The tee boxes are spread out pretty good so all level of play should have fun. I highly recommend this course. A couple days before I played their 'challenge' course. A par three 12 hole awesome fun to play course, and a must play when you're out here.
