Played Nov. 27. First time playing Indian Wells-Players course. Conditions were very good, although the greens were slow, ran true, will hold a shot. Fairways were very good shape, no bare spots, a bit thin in some (very few) areas. Tee boxes were fine. Sand was very good. We played the combo tee's @6538 yds 71.7/129. This is a challenging course especially if you are playing it for the first time. There are about 6 blind tee shots, in that you cannot see the green because of hills or doglegs. Don't mind the dog legs, but when you don't know the course it is somewhat difficult to know where to hit your tee shot even with the GPS system. On 3 holes you have to watch the GPS as you cannot see the group in front of you, and on those 3 holes only the carts in front are displayed and the distances to them so you have to watch the GPS. It is a very interesting course, lots of sand, some water. Generally speaking the landing areas are big enough, however some holes you really have to place your shot, tough if you are not familiar with the course. I'd certainly play it again though. Pace of play today was a bit slow for my liking, but were done in 4 and a half.

Played November 26, 9 a.m. tee time. Service was very good from the get-go. Course was VERY quiet. The greens were a bit thin, coming out of over-seed I guess but they ran true, and would hold a shot. Fairways too were a wee bit on the thin side, but certainly playable. We played from the gold tees, some very interesting holes on this Pete Dye course, a fair amount of sand throughout, fairway bunkers and green-side bunkers and all were in excellent shape. Generally speaking it is a forgiving course, wide fairways, fairly large greens, so make sure you have your distance correct or you could be a long way from the hole! Overall good course, challenging in places, very enjoyable and not overly difficult.

Played early Sunday morning, 3 some. Course is 90 degree cart rule, not cart path only. Greens were slow, running at about 8 on the stimp (according to the starter). I've played here a few times and it is a very nice course, well manicured, and always well kept. Use the correct tee box for your handicap, as this course can kill you really quickly. Many many well placed sand traps, both fairway and green-side bunkers.

Played (USA) Thanksgiving Day, booked on line $66 for a 0730 tee time. Tee off 0732 (according to the starter) and although it seemed slow, as we had to wait for the group(s) in front we were done in just under 4 hours, the marshall did speak to the group in front on the 11th hole. The course, out of over-seeding a couple of weeks ago was in immaculate shape. The greens however were still a bit slow, but held a shot, were smooth and rolled true. The greens are large, so be mindful where the pins are...club difference in some instances. The fairways are generous, but there are many well placed bunkers, actually groups of fairway bunkers, seldom is there only 1 fairway bunker, there are groups of them lol. the bunkers were very good as well. My only "complaint" if it is one, is that the grass on the tee boxes was a bit too long, could have been cut shorter, but nothing major. Although they have a "mobile kitchen" (read grill) etc at the turn, it was not operational when we made the turn, and we saw the cart girl for the first time on #9, and twice thereafter. They still seem to struggle for a food and beverage kiosk at the turn, there is lots of water stations on the course though. This course, as I always say, is definitely worth playing. I love it.

We played today (with Johnny GK for 9 holes) for the first time since they re-designed it (when it used to be the Desert Course) in 2007 or so I think. Tee time of 6:40 a.m. arranged by Johnny GK. The course is a very good track, I think (as did my brother) that it is a far better course than it's more famous brother across the street (The TPC Stadium course). This course has a lot of character to it. The greens were accetpting of shots, pin placements were fair, although one or two were difficult, one would know where to hit it if one played it a few times. Greens were smooth, and running fairly quick for this time in the morning and you could read the breaks. There were a few with ball mark damage, but nothing really major. Fairways were very good, however on #'s 1 thru 4 and # 18 there were crews aerating the fairways, so that was not great. The workers would get out of your way when you were hitting a shot, but there were spots that you had to move your ball as the cores were still on the fairway. Bunkers were very good, had lots of fluffy sand so you had to adjust to that. Course was well maintained, cart girl was around every 4 holes or so. We finished in about 3 and a half hours and really didn't have to wait, and no one waited for us. I would certainly play this course again-I cannot say that for the Stadium course. Thanks for arranging the game Johnny, hopefully it wasn't our golf that made you unwell !! hahaha

We played this course on May 15th for the first time. It was opened as a private club about 12 years ago and apparently has semi-private for about 3 years now. It is about a 45 minute drive from the Glendale area. We paid $71 on their website for a 9 o'clock tee time. No permanent clubhouse/grill or pro-shop yet and it is (honestly) a 5 minute drive in a golf cart from the temporary golf shop to the first tee!! Dramatic elevation changes throughout the course. All but one of the par 3's were from very elevated tees. There is some water on the course and it does come into play. Fairways are generally wide enough, but most have a slope to them. Many of the second (or third) shots are up hill and/or to elevated greens. The greens were fairly fast, and somewhat difficult to read. The course was in excellent condition, the staff were friendly and accommodating, we were told there wouldn't be a cart girl on the course, however there are mini fridges with water and ice throughout the course. I did find the course somewhat difficult, but I think once one got used to the greens (breaks/grain) it would be much better to play. We all liked the course, no houses around it and some great vistas. It is worth the short drive up to play it. We may play it again on this trip.

First time playing this course (May 14th). We decided that we would like to play, so called up and booked a time. $49 incl. lunch and cart, very good deal (also available on their website). It took us about an hour to get there from Glendale area, traffic signals on route 60 (Sun City area) are not 'synch'd" so it makes for a seemingly longer drive, but it was definitely well worth the drive. The course is very well laid out, it is in super condition. Greens were fast, could hold a shot and were smooth. There are some very interesting holes on this course. The staff were excellent, and the grill room was very good too. It is not a "typical" desert course at all. It is worth the drive, and I will play again.

Played on May 13th and again today (May 16th). I haven't played the course in a couple of years. I really like the course obviously as I went back twice! It can be very challenging, but hit your tee shot in the right area and you can score very well. There are numerous well played fairway bunkers, you really have to aim away from them, makes you think about where to hit your tee shot to. Green-side bunkers also well place, the sand therein was very good, so if you are in them you have a decent chance to get close. The conditions were excellent for this time of year, cnsidering the record high temps for the past few weeks. The greens were firm, but smooth and would hold a shot. Once you know where the greens run to (front 9 to Phoenix -valley; back nine away from the mountain road you can see in the White Tank mtns North of the course) and read the grain, it is very enjoyable. Saw the cart girl lots on both days. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We paid $59 on their website, great value. May play it a 3rd time in the next week!

Played the Gold course on May 12th, it was the first time I 've played this course. It is a fairly enjoyable course, and older type course and not a desert style course which is fine and good to play for a change of pace in the desert. Plenty of sand both fairway and green-side bunkers. Many dog-legs, which will take the driver out of play on some (many) holes. The greens were very firm, and many were slightly elevated, it was difficult to hold a shot on the green, this combined with the green-side bunkers made it difficult to get on to and stay on the greens. We started to play to areas that we thought we might be able to bump and run some shots to the greens, however that too was difficult. I did like the course however and I would play it again, although my companions weren't as fond of it as perhaps I was. If they could make the greens more accessible and hold some shots it would be well worth while playing. We paid $49 for the Gold course on their website. Staff were friendly, cart girl was around frequently.

Played on May 11th. Early morning round, 2 of us were following a 5some of regulars. We were not held up at all. Course is drying out as a result of the extreme heat (and likely the change-over from winter to summer grass). Greens were firm, a bit bumpy at times but generally good. Never saw a cart girl at all. staff were friendly as per usual.

I've thought about playing this course for a while. It is a decent course, it was a muni course (nothing at all wrong with that) that was taken over. It reminds me a bit of Papago, there are some difficult holes, and it helps to play with someone familiar with the course and/or pay attention to the GPS which is a good system. The greens were generally smooth, but there seemed to be a few greens with small pebbles on them, not sure if it was a poor quality top dressing or what, as well the holes themselves seemed to be crowned, not sure if it is the guy who moves the holes but they weren't tamped down. The fairways were in good shape, some with divot damage. Bunkers again had small pebbles in them, but a fair amount of sand in them. There are no houses on the course, and lots of desert areas which is fairly easy to hit out of. I played with 3 members, who were very helpful about some hidden "hazards" on the course, and ideas of where not to hit it.... and good to play with! Their rate was $70+ with cart. I wouldn't pay much more to play the course, it was ok, but nothing really great, I would play it again. Cart girl was around a couple of times. played in under 4 hours with a 945 tee time.
