1st time here, absolutely amazing conditions, incredibly challenging and fun. By far the best muni I’ve played, can’t believe a U.S. Open course is city owned and in great shape like this

Never understood the low reviews. Everytime I play here course is fantastic shape. Always very playable, fairways great, bunkers Great. Greens a little slower than normal but still rolled true. Is it worth $140+, probably not, but everything in OC is overpriced.

What can I say, love the layout, absolutely hate the poor maintenance in the bunkers. But, if you’re gonna play here you have accept the fact they take horrendous care of the bunkers, either hard pan or just rocks. Otherwise fairways were good coverage, greens rolled tri and good speed. Only complaint ever here are terrible bunkers, easily the worst in SoCal in my experience

It goes to show how American Golf does bare minimum. The Long Beach Open is next week, so the course is the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Fairways green and lush, greens rolling true, bunkers actually manicured and soft (miracle alone here). Tee boxes still junk though. If only They put this effort into the Maintenance year round, this would be one of the better munis, unfortunately American Golf doesn’t and the course will go back to subpar in a couple weeks.

Played 7/16. Always a great time here, worth the green fees when your in the area. Customer service outstanding course always well maintained. I’ve never had a bad experience here regardless of the unpredictable weather

3rd time out here. Love the course always immaculate shape. Grounds crew prioritizes course conditions. All 3 times here course great shape, open off the tee but green complexes challenging. Love this course, wish it was easier to get tee times.

Oak Quarry is always a great time, course in great shape except the bunkers as usual. Actually had a few that were soft but most were hard pan and no rakes. A couple even had weeds and vegetation growing in them. For $90 a round and up some basic bunker maintenance should be affordable for them. Other than the bunkers though, course was great

First time here, Customer Service outstanding from Valet to the End. But the course was underwhelming. One true ocean hole, fairways thin to bare. Greens great, sand great. But for the price there are far better courses in better condition. Layout and challenge was great, just playing conditions subpar for $200 plus green fees.

Course is a dog track, I hit 10 fairways and maybe 1 or 2 of them I could tell I was in a fairway, no delineation between rough and fwy. Tee boxes were level but thin, greens lush, but really bumpy. First time here in 25 yrs and will be the last.

Absolutely loved the course! First time playing it, would always play in Solvang when up here visiting, but heard about this course. By far my favorite course in the area. I was stationed in Colorado for 6 years and this reminded me of a mountain course liked you’d see there. The course was in excellent shape and fun to play. This is my go to course when I’m up here now.

Played 12/4, course is far better than the 4 condition rating. I’d say 7.5 right now, only the greens being bumpy and punched maybe 4 weeks ago keeps it from being 8-8.5 in playing conditions. Fairways lush, rough consistent. Bunkers were semi soft, just to thin of top layer, maybe inch of soft stuff which is unusual considering they just did their course maintenance and over seeding 4 weeks ago. Otherwise course back to its usual great conditions and challenging as always.
