Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!Played this weekend and the golf course was in fine condition. Wonderful layout! Don’t know what the previous comment is all about. Heard the course will be raising green fees once construction is completed though. Construction didn’t bother our group. A very enjoyable day.
From reading southlanders comments you’d think Rustic Canyon was a dog track. I played the course today aand the course wasn’t in nearly as poor shape as described. The greens suck but what can you expect, they were just punched! The skirts around the greens are beat up but you can absolutely still putt the ball from them. And the rough is not 8 inches thick anywhere. I don’t know what’s up with the maintenance truck spraying you guys or whatever other issues you have with the course. It’s not as nice as it used to be but it’s still in “good” shape and still beats the pants off the other surrounding courses as far as layout and value go.
Played 3/25, agree with TD_LA, the course is in fabulous condition. Greens are running smooth and firm. Tee boxes chewed up but nothing out of the ordinary for a course that’s played so much. Fairways and rough beautifully kept. Heard they won’t be punching the greens until May. Already booked a tee time for next week!
Played 3-21 - Course is in killer shape! Not one flaw. Without question my favorite front 9 around. Absolutely beautiful golf holes and a really fun track.
Golfdoc I couldn’t agree with you more about the tee boxes…until I tried the course out from the blacks. Presents itself totally different eliminating many of the blind trouble. Like on number #5 from the white & blues it looks like you should cut the corner a bit…but if you do you are a goner. From the black, you can plainly see not to attempt it. Same thing on #16. Too bad Jacobsen didn’t elevate the whites and blues more when designing the course. Golfdoc, I do disagree about the par 3’s. I like the elevated tee/straight forward approach. They are a blast to play and a place to make up some strokes. #14 is a wimpy hole that’s got no place being there. At $65 bucks I’m still a big fan of this course!
