Played on 5/6/11 with our usual group. Everyone had a great time. Lots of trees for shade. The ocean breeze was fresh and made some holes challenging. Overall a great day on a great layout. Not overly challenging, but it kept your attention. Greens were very soft but not overly bumpy. Pace of play was 4 hours. There were two beverage carts and the turn is back at the clubhouse. I couldn't think of anything that was so poor that I would complain about it. I look forward to returning.

Quickly becoming my favorite course. Great practice facility, wonderful staff, great food. The Sunday Brunch is a bargain at $11 all you can eat.

Played on 2/20/11. Course was in excellent shape all the way around. It's a fair challenge and great fun to play. Each hole has something a little different that makes it a nice fulfilling round.

The course was in very good shape although there was quite a bit of unrepair or improperly repaired ballmarks on the greens. This seems to be a growing trend in golf these days. Some of the tee boxes were thin and a bit unlevel. The course was its usual challenge - the rough on the back 9 was quite thick and difficult to negotiate or even find the ball. I do like this course, it's a great challenge and it steps up a few notches if the breeze picks up. It's worth the money. Just don't expect good breakfast service in the clubhouse. There's only one cook and she's very slow as is the lone waitress. You'd be better off stopping somewhere else for a bit before play.

Played 6/12/08. Course is in great condition. Greens are touch to read the subtile breaks, but role true. Many challenging holes, but not overly difficult. I will definitely play this course again.

Played on 6/14/08. Course was is good shape for a week of 105+ temperatures. The greens held good shots and the layout was a nice challenge, but not overly difficult. The last two holes will test your stamina with a lengthy par 5 17th with water along the right and a semi island green followed by a long par 4 with a daunting creek along the right that cuts in front of the green. Overall a nice loop that I wouldn't mind playing several times.

Played on 6/13/08. Keeping in mind that this was the week before summer, the course was still is very poor shape. The fairways were cut down so low they were very hard and dried out. The Super should have let the fairways grow out a little to retain the water and reduce the bare spots. Overall with so many courses to choose from this would be the last place I would go to.

Played on 11/23. The course was in great shape. The greens were a little firm, but held good shots. The staff was very friendly.

The course is very fair and easy to navigate. There are 6 tees so you shouldn't have any trouble choosing one to fit your game. The greens have a good amount of subtle undulations. That should be challenge enough. Don't choose a tee that will double your effort.

Keep in mind that this course is not wind protected. 9 times out of 10 you’re going to be challenged by strong gusts starting in the early afternoon. I recommend an early tee time.

Overall, it’s a excellent course for a outing with your friends or if you’re looking for a nice fair challenge.

Excellent track in great condition. Only two small complaints (no marshalls and the flys - dairy next door).

Played on 8/14 in the afternoon. The course is in very good condition. The greens were in fair shape. My biggest complaint about the greens is they were bumpy due to the smattering of poa. What made them worst was the huge number of unfixed or improperly fixed ball marks. The course gives out nice metal ball mark tools, it's a shame very few use them. Otherwise, I like the course. It's a fair challenge and you can get some good discounts either through Donnovan Daily or Roger Dunn.

The fairways are in pretty poor shape. I prefered to hit it in the rough to get a better lie. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape. I've played there 4 times and the wind is always blowing 5-10 mph from the west, but most of the long holes play down wind and the short into it.

Now that I'm familiar with the area, I've moved on to other courses even though this is the closest to home. I probably won't return.

Like others have described this is a very straight forward flat old school muni. I loved it. The fairways were well maintained and very wide. The greens were soft which leds to ball mark damage and unevenness from heavy foot traffic, but overall they were in great shape. I love the old muni layout and plan to return may times. Check the Donovan Daily website for discounted rates. A great value even without the discount.
