Wanted to play here for awhile and finally decided to drive the hour + to play. Paid about $65 for late morning tee time and paid $20 for an extra cart. Golf courses are hurting so the extra fee wasn't an issue, just wanted to be safe. Service was excellent. Noticed a few signs warning people about using abusive language and behavior, which I thought was odd. On hole 7 tee box, I realized why. Unbeknownst to us, we caught the group ahead and stopped our carts right as they were teeing off. They complained we were talking in their backswings (we apologized) and playing right up on them (the group behind us was hitting into us so we tried to keep pace). They continued taunting/cursing at us even though we kept quiet. One of them was wearing a red political hat and they all looked pretty rough so we decided to let them vent and gave them a wide birth but it was alarming given the small inconvenience they may have experienced. Someone had called the marshal (not us) and we explained what happened, he seemed frustrated/apologetic and said he'd talk to them. Luckily we never had any trouble the rest of the way but the father-son we were paired up with were kind of spooked. Could have been worse if we hadn't kept our heads. The fairways and rough were thin and there were plenty of barren spots (chalk it up to reduced maintenance crews/summer heat). The greens were in good condition and rolled nice. Just a shame we were stuck behind the Patrick Reed fan club.

I don't make it to Vegas often but was in town for a bachelor party and had some buddies that wanted to play. Finding appropriately priced golf in Vegas is difficult, especially when the weather is bearable, but luckily we found a deal at TPC LV for the first day of non-cartpath only play following overseed. This is usually a good time to catch desert courses and the conditions were lush and the weather was perfect. I generally agree with others that say that TPC course designs are underwhelming but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The back nine makes up for a so-so front and the views are great. I wouldn't pay rack rate for any course in Vegas but I would definitely recommend TPC LV if its on your list of courses. Just make sure to check the conditions and weather before deciding.

Played GC yesterday for the first time in over 5 years. It was even better than I remember. I had always enjoyed this course for the lush conditions, the tree features, and the value. The greens were in great shape and held shots well. Didn't find a bunker but didn't see any issues. The course design is generally pretty fun with some features that some people will detest (like trees in the fairway) but there is a lot of variety to keep most people happy. If you haven't played here, you should consider it a great track for your money. Just wish it was closer for me. Definitely need to make it out here once a year.

Had some time to play while on vacation in Monterey and found a great deal online for Bayonet. They are holding multiple tournaments around this time so the course is dialed in. Greens were very fast and the rough was long, which makes an already difficult course, very difficult. While the course is in excellent condition and the views are great, you won't have fun if you expect to post a low score. Worth a play if you are up for a challenge.

Like all Troon courses, this is a players course that is challenging and fun. The course was beautiful and maintained very well. There were a few dry spots in the fairways and some of the bunkers were overwatered but it's understandable since it has gotten very hot lately and they are adjusting to summer conditions. My group made a long drive to play here and we all had a blast. We will be back to score better as it was our first time playing here and appearances off the tee are very different than what you see from the green.

Finally getting around to reviewing a course I played in April on a Friday afternoon with some friends from San Diego. I will avoid droning on about the condition of the course since it is impeccable and should be on everyone's bucket list. The conditions on my day of play were no exception.

Most people are reading these reviews to decide whether it is worth the drive and green fees. I will simply say that it is. It is one of the most enjoyable rounds I have ever played and I do not regret the 5 hours of driving I did that day. I was lucky and only paid a fraction of the regular price because my buddy works in the industry but my experience would have justified the full price.

Anyone lose a ProV with "GKG" marked in blue? I found it.

This course is in amazing condition right now. Overseeding was a major success and drastically improved the deteriorating conditions. The rough was extremely lush, the fairways were cut nicely with no thin spots and the greens were pristine. My only gripe right now is that some of the tee boxes were still being seeded and had some bare spots.

My home course that I don't think I've ever seen in such great condition. Always see some deer and some amazing views on the back 9.

Finally got around to using an unlimited golf coupon I had given my father a few months back at a course neither of us had played. We had heard mixed reviews but the price we paid was less than half of peak fees and we were able to get in 27 holes before we were rained out so we got our money's worth. Simply put, the conditions did not justify anything close to peak greens fees. Fairways were pretty beat up and bare in many places . Bunkers were well manicured and great sand but right beneath a top layer was a tarp that made some shots problematic. This course is littered with bunkers so hopefully they fix the tarp issue. Tee boxes were level and in great condition. Greens were fast and had some goofy slopes that proved difficult but were in great condition overall. Hitting into cages before the round is kinda ridiculous but I will give them a pass because land is too valuable there. One hole is nearly on the beach and is a spectacular view and the par 3's are generally very beautiful but otherwise this course is a resort track that won't live up to its price. You get the sense that your money is going into the clubhouse rather than the course. Checked it off the bucket list.

Finally getting around to writing a review for this course I played over 2 weeks ago. Off the bat, the clubhouse and views are spectacular. Something you will never forget and golf is just a bonus. The facilities and service are top notch and the practice areas are helpful and indicative of what can expect on the course. The course is beautiful and challenging even without the common trade winds. Generous landing areas for tee shots but a lot of uneven forced carry approach shots into/with the wind. The wind speed was around 15-20mph most of the day which made for a ton of guessing, especially without a range finder. Greens were excellent and while being soft, were much faster and had more break than I could read. Since it is Maui, the grass on the course was lush and the rough was thick. There are many great courses on Maui but this one is different/special and is one I highly recommend. Very attractive membership pricing as well.

Played 6/20 on a late twilight tee time on summer solstice. Teed off at 4:00pm and started on 16 because of a tournament that was finishing up on the front nine. Played extremely fast for the first 7 holes with no one ahead then hit a mom and son group playing slow. Marshall came and moved them and the group ahead of them to front nine and we continued burning through the course. Played 22 holes in 4 hours! The course itself is immaculate and lush. Most beautiful par 3's i've ever played. Very difficult to score well if you get in the rough and the false fronts are deceptive if you haven't played here before. The surrounding vegetation is gorgeous and the terrain is varied which makes for a great day. If you haven't played a troon course, the service and quality of the facilities are top notch. Country club-like. I paid twilight tee time discount, otherwise it would have been too pricey for my blood. Greens were medium fast but I believe they aerated not too long ago so i think they were still a bit sandy, though unnoticeable and still difficult. All in all, a pristine course that will challenge you and provide breathtaking views. Just make sure to be considerate and keep up the pace for your fellow golfers.
