I hit a drive on the screws into the wind that went about 120 yards, unbelievable! Overall, I liked the course a lot. It was in decent shape, although I thought that the greens were a little beat up, which was surprising because the putting green was beautiful.
I will definitely play it again (good value for the price). We played in just over 4 hours. Next time we will try to pick a day with less wind.

There are 329 posts on this and they are all favorable toward this except UCRgol4er. Maybe we can see shere the problem lies. Rustic Canyon is still one of the best bargains around. It is not an easy course for sure, but it is well designed and makes you actually think and plan your shots. If you hit your 7 iron 155 yards, and you have 155 to the hole you need to think about hitting an 8 or even a 9.
Great course!!!
Great course!!!
Played on Saturday 6/3. I really like the changes they have made. It is still one of my favorite courses. The greens were fantastic. Played the round in 4 hours and 15 minutes.
My only gripe is that the new GPS seems to be off. The distances on several holes showed up about 10-15 yards long creating shots that were long. It happened in both carts, so beware.

Very nice course. The course was in very good condition. A variety of holes that included tight holes, water and sand. Well worth the cost of the round.
We will be back.

Saw Erick Estrada (CHiPs) hawking land in California City on TV one night and he talked about the championship golf course. Took a trip to play the course. It was a very nice course. They have a number of very different and challenging holes. There is enough water to make it challenging and there are lots of bunkers. We teed off at 8:00 am on a Saturday (we made the reservation the day before). Played the course in about 4 hours 15 minutes, so the pace was good. The greens are very nice and the putts run very true once they dried off.
My only complaints are 1) they didn't mow the greens and they were very wet-for the first 5-6 greens putts had a rooster tail like a ski boat and it was tough to judge speed 2) the sprinklers were either left on or were broken on a hole and the fairway was completely flooded in the landing zone (right where 3 of us landed).
Overall, it is well worth the trip. We will go back.

Played for the first time. It is a long course that offers some real challenges. Greens were in good shape. They have a lot of undulation and can lead to some 3 putts.
There are not a lot of birdie holes on the course and there are some holes that can yield some big numbers.
Overall, a fun course to play.

Played on 8/25 for the first time. What a beautiful setting for a course. Played twilight- $27.00 with a cart, what a deal! I hit the ball very well but the huge, fast undulating greens took a toll on my score (way too many 3 putt greens). After my first round, my advice is hit one club less on your approach shots. The greens are are hard and fast and I had a lot of long putts from way past the hole.
Great cours. I will be back.
