Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!I played this course on 4/9 and found it to be in excellent shape. I can't understand why previous players have trashed it so much. The greens are always good and the fairways were very good. Granted they have some bad places but it is still winter and this is an old course. There are 2 kinds of courses; old and new. New being constructed in the last 25 years or so where they have the advantage of planting one kind or grass. The old ones are stuck with what ever blows in so not so consistent. Those who want such perfection should stick to playing the new $60 and up courses and not complain about our old stand bays that most of us can afford.
I played Goose Creek on Dec 11 and did not see any of the problems that Jerry 64 described about his visit on 12/6. The course was in perfect shape as reported many times here???

Played this course on 2/15 for the first time since the new owners took over. I don't quite agree with the latest review. The fairways were spotty due to winter conditions with various kinds of grass, some green and some dormant which is normal for old courses. Seems like nobody over seeded this year which would make it nicer but it was very playable. The rough was short consistent The greens were great. The sand was thin as it tends to be in the rain. The price was excellent because we always play during the week. With the Roger Dunn Birdie Card we paid $33.
Played in 3.5 hours on Oct 8. Course conditions were very good compared to most. There were quite a few fairway bare spots but that is the norm for this time of the year and a lot were marked as under repair. The greens were soft and a bit bumpy and hard to read. Overall a good time and price.
Played here 10/6 for the first time in years and found it to be in excellent shape and fun to play. The greens seemed impossible to read. No putts went where you aimed. The sand was deep and heavy and the course was wet early in the morning. Lots of trees on every hole and water that was not always in view. The course is only 5902 from the blues but was still a challange for us old duffers and the price was right.
