Played here on Friday APRIL 24 for my first post quarantine round. This facility as those that have been is why the tour comes here every year. Conditions were better than expected, even though they were working on a couple of greens. Playing with a mask in the +100* temperature was difficult to breathe, but well worth the sacrifice just to get out. Greens rolled perfectly and fairways were lush. Rough was about 2 inches. The best part was the pace of play at 3.5 hours. I love the idea of individual carts.

I've played here twice in the last month, just to get out and keep my swing together. For $19 at 5pm, I figured it can't be that bad. First time I played we got out before the super twilight crowd and didn't catch up to people until hole 5. Yes, there was four of us and we were informed the groups ahead had at least a 4 hole lead on us. I think the problem with the pace of play here is that the Koreans think they are better than they really are. They like to play the Tips and can't drive the ball more than 200 yards. I don't get it, what's with the Ego? There's a sign that says that you should be a 7 or under handicap to play the blacks. Yet, when I see you taking your fourth from a 100 yards out I don't think you belong in that club. The ball marks, divots in the fairways are never repaired and the bunkers are never raked because it is beneath them to do yard work? At the rate this course is deteriorating, it will be closed before the end of 2013 if not sooner.
This new management hasn't been watering because the water bill is $40,000 a month. Do they know they own a golf course? Here's the reason behind this madness, 1) Everything is subleased. Driving range has a different owner. Snack Bar has a different owner. Restaurant has a different owner. How can this operation run smoothly when you have no control of the limbs? Get it together because at $19 I would rather just go to the range and practice then ever play here again.

Played here on 9/4/11. We teed of @ 1pm and finished at 5pm, could have been faster, but the foursome in front was a hole behind the whole time... even though they had a decent pace, we could have easily been in under 3.5 hours. As for the course, this was the first time I've been here in about 2 years. Its probably in my top 5 affordable courses in Southern CA. Fairways and tee boxes were great, the greens were a little soft and running about a 8 on the stimp. I had about 8 birdie chances inside 12 feet and only made 2, I was stumped on how to read these greens. I burned a few edges along the way. I hope underpar.com has another voucher on sale soon, it was definitely worth the $40.

Play here on Sunday morning August 21 with a Father's Day Voucher. The posted green fee is $115..... as we looked down the first fairway I made the comment, "This fairway looks like the quilt on my bed, patches everywhere." On the second hole my cart partner said to aim at the bunker on the right only to get there and realize it was not a bunker but a giant par of the fairway that was missing grass. On the same hole another buddy asked why they were trying to sod St.Augustine in the fairway. What golf course uses this weed for the fairways? Third hole we get a message on the GPS screen saying, "Due the the watering conditions please play lift, clean and place."..... in August? Southern California? On the same hole I got into the rough and sank about 4 inches as I addressed my ball. It was a little wet. Moving forward, my cart buddy hit a nice drive on 18 to the center of the fairway. It was one of those drives after you hit you just bend down and pick up the tee. We drive to the fairway to look for his ball and its nowhere to be seen. He finally found it... it was plugged in the fairway! This had to be one of the worst golf courses in terms of conditions I have ever played. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Played on 4/25/10. I've played here a few times and today the course had to be in the worst condition ever. It was like they haven't mowed the grass for over a week. Dallisgrass was sprouting up everywhere and one couldn't even tell the difference between the rough and fairway. Then we have the greens and the poa annua, I hope they know that when that grass gets a little long it starts to flower.... suffice to say the greens were spotty with flowers. A special group of players must be there a lot because the bunkers were filled with footprints and divots. Can certain people not rake the bunkers? I can't imagine someone would pay the $86 asking price to play there on a weekend. After the 5 and a half hour round I was glad to leave. With that many green fees you would think they could hire some greenskeepers!

I went in expecting to spend most of the day waiting, however the pace for the front nine was remarkable. Our foursome made the turn in 2 hours! Then we came to the tenth, I think they must of let someone come in to play the back nine, because the back nine took almost three hours. The course was in great condition, the greens ran really slow compared to the practice green. Thanks goodness for the red dot book, I couldn't think to pay the $86 green fee for weekends. I'll tee it up for $43 with a cart on the weekend anytime.

The BEST Muni course I have ever played. The greens have unbelievable breaks that will just fool you if you didn't get the local knowledge. The views are amazing! The call it a poor man's Pebble Beach, which I think its a little more like Spyglass. If you are near the San Luis Obispo area, make the stop and play this course. There are a lot of grumpy old guys around (locals), but have fun!
