Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii!First out on 4/21/12 Greens are recovered nicely from punching on the 9th. I wish all the people who ride in carts would use the sand provided for DIVOTS! They mowed the fairways today as we were playing. Wish they had a motorized rake to rake them so the ball would roll out more. Imagine the pace of play would pick up if people could hit shorter clubs into the greens. Would also love to see them roll the greens and maybe cut them a bit shorter. I really hope they cut down on the watering of the fairways this year as this would also speed up play.

Played As first group out on 2/12/12 The course is in pretty good shape with the greens rebounding from the small hole punch they did about a month ago. The tee boxes all need more attention and will people please rake the traps!!!! You golfers that ride in the new electric carts, please use the sand provided to fill divots. I personally take 4 extra bottles on BOTH 9's to fill divots! We all love Rancho for its great design, so lets all take better care of it!

Played as one of the first groups out on Sunday 12/11. Pace was great as we went along in about 4 hrs. Being wintertime, the fairways here are dormant, so there is plenty of roll. The rough was good and the greens were fast. You just need to get the putts started on down hillers and hope you have the right read. Everyone from the pro shop, the starter(Dick) to the gentleman in the range shop were great. Cart person was by two or three times. All in all a good time.

Played as the first group out on Sat. 10/22. Really foggy, so we played a little slower on the front nine. All in all the course is in really good shape, with the greens recovering nicely from the recent aeration. Tee boxes on the par threes need more love from the maintenance staff as well as the golfers who are in carts with SAND!! i generally take two extra bottles with me and then refill at the turn!! I could still use much more. Please fill divots and replace! Thanks to all the maintenance and clubhouse personnel.

Played Rustic Sat 10/1. Rodney got myself , another single and a twosome out before the usual Sat crush early. Course in great shape, even though the greens were rather on the slowish side for Rustic. All in all though it is so enjoyable to play there with no wind and on a beautiful day.
Played as the fourth group out on Wilson today around 6:00 Course is in pretty good shape for all the play it gets. Greens were decent some bumpiness due to ball marks, but overall good. I enjoy this course as long as you're in the fisrst 5 groups out or it will be a long round! FORE!
Played 5/7/11 first group out, walking. Greens were almost completely recovered from punching and were great, if a tad slow. If people could just keep up with the group in front of them, this course would be great all the time. But, alas, the group behind us (2nd group) was about two holes behind after 7 holes. A bit more aggressive marshaling would help. Oh well it's Rancho!
Played 1/29 2nd group out. Greens are real nice right now. Love this track!

Played Sunday 8/22, walking. Second group out. We didn't see the first group after four holes. Course is in great shape. They put the pins in some tough spots on some greens and makeable birdie spots on others. Not much wind today, so you could shoot for the pins. I like this course and was lucky to get out as I was told there was a tournament starting at 6:40 AM!!!! Wow, let the earlibirds that drive to golf get a break!
Wow what happened to Rustics once awesome greens??? Play here often and love the course, but their greens have gone south.
Hope they improve or I will just have to go to Rancho earlier.

Played Sunday April 25. Off as the second group, all walking. We played the first few holes a little slow due to the fog, but after that we blazed. Finished in 4 hrs. Course was in great shape and the greens were firm and fairly fast. I love this course!!!!

Played Sunday 12/20 (at) 7:00 time. Pace was fairly good, we finished in 4 hrs. I hope that Rancho will begin to repair the tee boxes like they did on the first tee with all the tees that need it so bad, i.e. 3, 8, 12, 16, (the par 3's) Also a couple of others, but these really need it. Also if they would cut back the tree on 3 so it doesn't play like a dogleg, that would probably speed up play. The trees on 14 that shade that green could also be trimmed to let the sun hit that green all year. Other than this, I love Rancho for it is really the only course for regular golfers on the Westside.
Thanks to the entire staff.
