- Was so glad to finally get to play Harding Park on November 12th. However, our group was somewhat disappointed in the thin lies, consistency of the greens, and some incredible noise from a shooting range across the lake. No one can question the improvements and overall layout of this course are pretty nice and will make for a dramatic competition at the 2009 President's Cup. It just seemed that in many places the grass was not thick enough to get a decent lie, even in the fairways. It was evident that they had just fertilized, but overall I was often concerned about my ball sitting on thin grass. The greens were varied, and it seemed that the greens on 14-18 were different, yet improved from the previous holes. They also has two temporary greens on #11 and #13, which was not disclosed when I paid $40 extra to book our time in advance about three weeks prior. Finally, there was a shooting range with constant shooting ALL DAY long, where it actually had us flinching a couple times on the greens! The management for this course needs to improve the player experience dramatically. Even the reduced greens fees for northern california residents is not worth it right now in my opinion. I'll definitely be back, but not before I verify the issues mentioned above are no longer happening.
