It does play long from the Blues but the conditions are nice from any of the tees. Greens roll, not bounce. Price is right if you have a retired service member in the group. not bad at the regular price.
Mountain course, a really a good course. Conditions still good even as Summer getting closer.
Agree with other reviews but add one thing not mentioned. Surprised it played longer then I remember. Played blue tees and it was very long for 6666 yards. Greens still putted true and rolled exactly where you putted. A real pleasure playing with the GK golfers after all these years. Great job Johnny.

Played 6/5/17 ..The Eagle has made a nice comeback from the last time I played. Greens roll fair to good, hold the line better than most. Will fool you down hill. You'll have long putts because greens at large. Fairways good, Green, lush. A little standing water in the AM, but not a real problem. Pace of play good. Just around 4hrs. One of the really good layouts in Orang County and Riverside. Less than a 45 minute drive from HB in the morning.
A really good course...tee to green, a lot of slope, must hit it on the correct side of fairway..approach shots the same..plan for a lot of roll, right or left bonce and roll...
Greens..really good...no ball marks like So Cal...smooth, perfect roll but still tough to make a putt..Bermuda.. tough to read breaks....a lot of fun to play....Plays a lot like Plantation course....must hit the right spot and plan for the roll.....on fairways and greens....

Really good, very consistant. Greens are what make the course tough. Some holes play very long for the yardage. Up hill on 385, driver, 5 wood. Still, putting the big deal. Add 5 to your normal score, maybe more. As good as it is, a little pricie.
Course conditions not as good as the reviews I've read. A little dry in spots, too many cart tracks, scrars on greens from golfer who just don't care. What's wrong with fixing ball marks? Sand traps are not the same fluffy white sand like when they first opened. Wet and hard packed.
Local knowledge a plus on certain holes, GPS system doesn't give the hole story. I really do expect more from a $135,000 course. I'd rate it closer to 6.0- 6.5.

COURSE STILL RATES AS THE TOUGHEST IN THE LA/OC AREA. STILL NEEDS SOME TIME FOR THE NEW GREENS TO BE RIGHT. FAIRWAYS ARE BROWN BUT EVERYWHERE YOU GO NOW ARE THE SAME. PLAYS SHORTER NOW WITH THE ROLL YOU GET. CANN'T WAIT TO GET BACK AGAIN AND GET BEAT UP AGAIN.
one of the best golf courses in SC. very fair, very tough, a real test.
short game a must, all differant types of shots needed to score.
conditions were good. greens held real well but were not as smooth as I 've seen them. Still putted better than most. Pins were in very tough location, maybe the same as they were for the PGA qualify event.

Played Legends last week. Sand traps were terrible. Top half were muddy, like they had filled in holes and did not rake them afterwords. Greens had been sanded. Ball rolled and rolled. No one said a word about the greens in club house. Huge pet peeve. Won't go back for awhile. Expected a lot more from one of best in So Cal. 9+ rating just went to 6.
