Played Torrey Pines No. Wednesday and was highly disappointed in its condition. In getting ready to reseed, everywhere is mowed tight and in the renovated, nonexistent rough the grass clippings are inches deep. The fairways are mowed tight and have bare spots. Lots of brown. The greens are also tight and have many healing ball marks. They should shut the courses down as they do in Palms Springs to reseed and renovate. I am a non-resident, drove 150 miles and was charged $105 plus an advance reservation fee of $45 to play a under-repair course. Not good!

Haven't played here since they originally opened years ago. The new course and layout are great. Very lush everywhere. The greens were fair, recently sanded, not severe. Well trapped greens even on the longer 3 pars, had to really plan your approach. Fairways were like carpets. Sand in traps was fine and soft and some deep to make it tougher. Water was only a factor on a few holes but on your mind. 4 sets of tees so you could pick which you felt comfortable playing. Played in 4 hours. Wish I lived in the area so I could play there often.

Enjoyed this course immensely. The layout, lush fairways, forced carries, desert look, and the undulating but fair greens, all make it a course to play many times.
