Sooooo Played here yesterday. front 9 punched. no notice. ok. play back 2x, fine. out with 2 ambassadors and they didn't know of punching. Nor did who had called just last week. serous lack of communication.
Now review back 9 just ok T boxs shaggy and beatup . Fairway 6/10, Greens 8/10 over all just a 6.5/10. Not in a hurry to go back.
Also big beef with the Players Club no discount if with your from another course. You pay Rack rate. If your in American Golf players club I urge you to email them and tell them you want the Players discount back or else.
Greedy b*st%rds !
It's been a while since I played the 9. Very pleasantly surprised. Greens where VERY good and going to be GREAT in a week ! They had just been verticut and sanded and where rolling fast and true. fairways had been punched recently and rough was not to tough. Tee boxes where just OK. Good POP too. Had a good time just wish I had made a few Putts. Go play Now or wait a week and it will be 9/10.
I have Been playing here for years and Happy to say the Baker South is in very good condition. Greens where best I've seen em'. Fairways ok, a few bare spots but overall a 7/10. Early AM Midweek you can always get out fast without a T time too ! POP was great 3:15 with no one in front or back. $32 to walk is fair. Go for it !
So, to follow up on my previous review of 6 or so months ago. The course is in much better shape as they are putting much more water on it . greens are good . Fairways good, all in all much Better then months ago. Give it a Go it's a good value and fun course. 7/10
I have been playing here for years, 1 or 2 times a month but the drought is really getting to this course. T boxes are impenetrable, Fairways are rock hard and dying for water. Greens are fair to middlin. If you don't hit the middle of the fairway your ball will roll out forever as the rough is hardpan. You don't have to bother to clean your clubs as you rarely take a divot. Sorry I like this course but I wont be back for a while till they put some water on it. Overall 5/10 don't bother, play elsewhere !
Ok I know I will get some blowback from this post but this is MY take. While I think some of the redo is good, over all they took a good course and made it much tougher and less fun. I have been playing TP N. for 30+ years and really loved it. I think they forgot it is a Municipal track and should be fun and playable for Mid to high handicaps. The 12th hole par 3 was 100 yd. fun hole now its 155 yds from the green(mens) and a miss here means a double or triple bogey. The greens while bigger are so undulating its not a typical track any more. In my opinion they tried too hard and just tricked it up. I have played the new North 3 times and maybe I will appreciate it more in the future but for now this old boy says, "if it ain't broke ..." . I'm a 15 hcp and in my mid 60's and yeah I could play from the forward Tees, but I could break 90 regularly on the Old course. Just Sayin !
Course condition was very good as was the pro shop . 2 Carts broke down but I was quickly brought out a new one. Good. Now the not so good... Asked if I could use ALL IN, in restaurant and after a 45 sec ignore, was told "grill is down stairs I CAN get a drink here. Not friendly or welcoming at all. head to the grill and am met by a cook who looked like he had not changed his shirt in a week. Multiple GREASE stains and also not friendly. I had a burger (OK) and was handed not 1 but 2 drinks at the same time on a HOT day ! Relief cook comes in also not friendly at all. Looks at me when I shoo away the birds trying to take my lunch and says . "They dont bother me ..." NICE ! great People skills. Overall not a +1 experience.

I play here at least once a month . While I enjoy the South it really need some help on the fairways. They are hard and thin with lots of bare spots. greens are OK not great and the T boxes are fair. Traps could use more Sand too. If the North wasn't such a BEAR I would play there more often as it's way better. Overall South gets a C, or 6.5 outta 10.
