Played last week for the first time with new course routing. #16 is the new hole, which was the old Players #1 but flipped tee to green. It is a well-designed hole with a good green complex. It also shortens the walk greatly to #17 tee.

First time playing here yesterday. Course is in decent shape and plays shorter than the yardage because good roll out on Bermuda hybrid fairways. My main complains are (1) have to walk a long way to carry bag to cart area and to practice range (2) Architect did horrible job with course routing: There are some holes where it is over half a mile from green to next tee! (3) Unnecessary steep slopes around greens where you are risking your life getting out of the cart and walking to green (4) lots of blind shots. I hate blind shots.

Play here weekly. Yesterday 4-20-2019 got through in 4.5 hours, great for a Saturday. Greens are 90% healed from aeration two weeks ago.

Just a note that the greens at Rancho San Joaquin were punched this week. The backs of the greens are punched, with pins placed in the front half of the greens.
