Drove out to Lake Powell for a winter round on 12/1. Bad news is the course is in rough shape. Patchy fairways and greens, thrashed tee boxes, uneven rough etc. Its a great layout with world class views but it is really run down. Good news is that it appears that they are making a big effort to correct that. Tons of maintenance and improvement taking place all over the course. The people here though are very, very nice and I will be back in a few months to see if the projects bear fruit.

Needed to get a quick round in before hitting the road back to my lair and teed up at Desert Willow. Course is in very good shape. I would imagine they get a ton of play. Pace was excellent. The two nice gents I played with mentioned how we were flying around the course. Greens were a bit dry and quick but if you want to stem your losses in the casinos for a few hours I could not imagine a better place to do it than this.

First thing to mention is how helpful the staff here was. Very, very nice folk and they really are welcoming. The course itself was in good shape. Greens a bit slow but not bad. Its not a super tricked out layout but the contrast between the front 9 and back 9 is a good challenge. This was probably a premium layout 30 years ago but now its in the value category and it is a very good value. By no means a destination course but a lot of those destination courses can learn a thing or six about treating people well from the folks here.

This is one of the finest layouts in the country and highly rated for a reason. A beautiful course and extremely fair but challenging test. Fazio met his reputation here. The staff also is top notch. These courses are far from cheap but they are worth the play if you are looking to treat yourself.

Played both the Red Sky Courses in Wolcott, CO and without a doubt the facility is magnificent. The Norman Course gives you absolutely stunning views and the course is in fabulous shape as it should be. The design is borderline gimmicky though. Definitely was an effort top the other course on property when it came to designing a challenge. It was more challenging for sure but some of the tricks used fell short.

So I played the fabled Sand Hollow Championship course and I can tell you that if you can stand the heat you should play it in the summer. It is a really nice course but I can't see the value for what they charge during peak season. The course is in good shape. Fairways lush, penalizing rough and the greens have healed nicely. Sure the views are great but there are other courses around here that also have tremendous scenery at a fraction of the price. But if you get up to this area in the summer the rate is a fair price and its worth the play.

Whew, where do I start. What a weird scene at Cedar Ridge. No tee times just line up, rogue fivesomes bouncing around the course, and awesome scenery. If you want to beat the heat its worth it though. Not expensive, course in really good shape. Nice Fairways that are super lush. 3 greens are recovering from sickness but not too bad. The rest ran really smooth. Bunkers fair and tee boxes were in good shape. Gas golf carts that really zoom too. Fun times!

Another super windy day here up Interstate 15 led me to this nice little gem. Course was empty due to Mother's day and a mighty gale. Fairways were good and greens were a tad spongy but not bad. Tee boxes were in good shape. Club selection is always key up here when the wind blows. Blasted an 8 Iron 190 when a mighty gust came up on 16 and hit a driver 160 earlier right into the teeth. Still a fun time though. As usual up here the staff was great. Super friendly and quick with good tips when asked.

Definitely a place for Target Golf affecionados. No real chance to get a good warm up in before your round so be prepared. They have some work hitting bays in nets but that's it. Course in in good shape, fairways will give you some run but they have good coverage. Greens were quick and in good shape. Bunkers were fluffy. Very nice staff and the pace of play was excellent for a Sunday. A shade under 4 hours and we were done. Definitely worth a play.

Of all the courses in the St. George area this one has the relatively worst conditions. Its not bad by any stretch but compared to the others its a bit shabby. Dried out fairways and tee boxes run down in a few spots. Greens were very good though and the staff id super friendly and professional. Its prime time here so maybe the traffic is a little heavy. Course is priced very competitively. Still worth a spin.

Played 03/20/2022. Winds were howling up to 60 mph. Super fun layout. Course was in good shape. The winds had the greens super dry and fast. Fairways were in great shape though. Its a hike from the surrounding areas out here but the people are friendly and its far enough out that its not a mob scene like most other places out in the desert are in the spring.

Course is under new ownership/management. They are rebuilding the tee boxes and fixing the greens and some of the course features. Fairways were in very good shape and the greens were a tad spongy but in good shape. Pace of play was normal. It seems like this place was neglected for a long time but the new regime has things pointed in the right direction.
