Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii! If you are looking for a very long 6 hour round go to Chester Washington. There were 4 groups backed up on the 2nd par 3 on the front, just horrible.
FYI ---GREEN FEES FOR TWILIGHT RATES ARE FOR LONG BEACH RESIDENTS ONLY, NON-RESIDENTS ARE A HALF HOUR BEHIND. WHEN I TOLD THE STARTER ABOUT THE WEBSITE INFO THEY REALLY DIDNT CARE, THANK LONG BEACH BIG REC.
Played on Sunday, 6/6/04. Most tee boxes were terrible, uneven, multiple divots-like hitting out of the rough. Pace was pretty slow. I saw the marshall camped out at hole 2 (par 3) and never saw him the rest of the day. There was almost a fight because some Korean guy stepped on a ball of a guy that hit into him, so there was some excitement.
Overall, it is definitely not worth the green fee. If you are in the mood for a relaxing day not expecting ready golf and don't mind your tee boxes on a slope (bad condition) then this is the course for you.
Starter was great, he at least said "have a great round", the course was downhill from there.

The clubhouse didn't open till 6 AM. Line outside the door of about 25+ people. Figures, city employees don't care. Told myself I wasn't going to play "Dad" Miller anymore.
Played on Easter Sunday with a PGA Checkered Flag Pro! Had a great time, finished in under 3.5 hours. Course was in excellent condition, just wish more people repaired their divots on the green. I am working on that more myself replacing mine plus a couple others. The staff there was great and the food ordering phone on the 9th hole made the turn and pace of golf quick.
I will definitely be visiting San Juan again.
