Got to play this past weekend and check out the renovation. It's been 6 years since I played so my frame of reference isn't great, but the course definitely feels like it got its "teeth" back. Bunkers have been deepened and many of the greens have been made noticeably bigger with more slopes.

There is no collar around the green on 17 anymore, the putting surface runs right into the rocks that no longer leave any room to attempt a shot off them. the green also has some very interesting slopes in it. I am a big fan of the renovation and look forward to seeing if it makes any difference to the pros.

Conditions were great for late summer, tees and fairways were all in great shape, minimal divot damage anywhere. Rough was up making it difficult to get spin to hit/hold greens, but fairly easy to get a club through. Bunkers had really nice sand that just hadn't settled in yet, lots of fried egg lies and heavy shots. Will be perfect by the time the open back up again after overseeding.

Greens were in incredible shape. They are brand new so you aren't going to be leaving pitch marks on approach shots, but the greens don't fully reject well struck shots. Sign at the starter said 10'8 and I didn't believe it assuming theyd be typical summer bermuda slow. They rolled true and fairly quick all day, really impressed.

Overall really impressed with the "new" Stadium course. Although no GPS on carts and lack of yardage markers on the sprinklers is kind of disappointing.

Played the brown tees (7015 yds) Monday 6/28 with an 840 tee time. Course was in incredible shape and it was great to get a chance to try our game at a US Open venue. Rough was cut down significantly on the fairways on the front 9 but the greenside stuff was still gnarly from 1-18, definitely lived up to the hype. Back 9 fairway rough was longer, but still probably not what it was the week before, probably about an inch or two shorter in most places with patches of really deep 5"+stuff mixed in sparsely. Nearly all of our lost balls for the day came off the tee on the back and most only missed the first cut by 5-10 feet each time, but the rough just swallowed everything up.

Greens were firm and medium/fast speed but manageable as long as you don't miss in the wrong spot above the hole. Tough to keep a lag put close downhill, especially when you add in a couple feet of break. Rolled true and smooth all day but could imagine they were getting bumpier throughout the afternoon.

Fairways were pretty firm giving good roll out, but not too crazy where a well hit ball would roll through to the rough. Lies didn't feel thin and the turf was amazing to hit from, the best I've seen from kikuyu. The landing spots for the pros are nearly all healed up so not much divot damage noticeable anywhere on the course.

Did not get in any fairway traps, but they looked great. Greenside bunkers played like they did the first couple days of the Open with compacted sides that funnel the ball down into the flat areas, no plugged lies.

Tees were level and lush. Playing in the morning there was no issue finding a nice spot, although the tee markers were pretty tight. POP was about 4.5 hours, but things were moving pretty quick until around 15 when everyone seemed to slow down a bit.

I generally don't think Torrey is worth the price for a non-resident, but this round was an exception. Especially with the USGA seemingly moving away from public courses there won't be many more chances to get to play a US Open venue in (somewhat) close to tournament conditions. This was also the best I've seen Torrey play, it doesn't feel punishingly long like it does in the winter around the Farmers when fairways don't give you much run out.

Played Thursday the 5th at 1:30 with discounted greens fees due to the maintenance on the greens. Even with the recent punching the greens rolled smooth at a decent speed all day. There are some trouble spots around the fringes that are being worked on, but nothing that really bothered me despite hitting into those spots multiple times. PoP was right around 4 hours without much waiting after the first few holes. Fairways were in good shape with no GUP that I noticed. The two sand traps I found were good, with a soft layer on top. Tee boxes, can only speak on blues, but lush and level, never had trouble finding a good spot even on par 3's.
I haven't played Arroyo very often, but it's a fun layout that can challenge you if you're not hitting it straight. Conditions were good across the board, and the greens were much better than expected, to the point where the maintenance had almost no impact beyond holding less than perfect long iron shots. Definitely recommend playing here.

Played today at 11:15 and finished in just under 4 hours. The high winds led to some cancellations so the course was mostly open. In terms of course conditions it was flawless as always, tee boxes were perfect and the emerald fairways played firm without a bare spot or blemish. Found 2 fairway bunkers and both were well maintained and pretty soft. The greens are softer than the last time I played almost a year ago, and were a little slower, posted at 10" on the clubhouse sign. On a day like today with 20 mph wind and gusts hovering somewhere around 35(?), anything to stop my ball from blowing off the green was appreciated. The wind provided plenty of opportunities to have some fun and get creative with the short game once you can swallow your pride after hitting a driver 180.

Got out Saturday 2/6 at 1212 and finished in the last minutes of daylight. 5+ hour round behind a mens club outing but waiting with those views can be forgiven. the course was in essentially flawless condition throughout.
Tee boxes were immaculately cut with minimal divots
Fairways were great with even fewer divots in the landing areas than expected.
The rough was some of the thickest I can remember outside of us open set ups, having not been cut since the tournament and getting the rainfall last weekend.
Greens were medium/firm and fast.
Sand traps seemed a little thin and more compact than I prefer but consistent and still playable throughout.
Overall worth the greens fees for the experience, even on a day where I couldn't find my game anywhere outside 30 yards

played 1230 with a foursome, got around in just under 4 hours. driving up we were a bit worried by the way the course looked but quickly found that the looks can be deceiving. fairways, which were a little dry and thin had good coverage and who doesn't like longer drives? the rough was essentially the same length as fairway in most places with no bad areas that I noticed. greens were in great shape, soft enough to stop 2 low burning mis-hit 7 irons, and putted true with medium speed. fairway bunkers were in bad shape and 1 of the 2 greenside bunkers I hit was as well
