My review is.... go play the north course. It's worth the extra money. The greens were the only thing in shape on this course. This course has had issues for a long time now.

What a great golf experience. Lush fairways and rough. Love the layout which was challenging enough but not overwhelming. Quiet and peaceful and the way golf should be. My only complaint are the greens way to firm fast and roll off like a PGA Tour course. Would help to at least soften them up to make it fair with the impossible speed and roll off.

Great practice areas including a chipping/pitching, putting and a grass driving range. MAJOR complaint is the balls at the driving range. I'm not expecting V1's but holy $h!* can we get something better than 20 year old water logged rocks please. For a course of this level its shameful and totally unacceptable. Anyways course is challenging and in generally good condition which makes it very attractive. It has a good balance of incline/decline, water hazards and sand (the 9th is like an asteroid strike). Negatives are annoying planes flying over at times. Outlay is a little confusing and new people could get lost to the next hole. Overall I believe it to be a good course and since I live in town like to play there. Just look out for the 20 something, never had a real job, just spent all my parents money at Golfsmith making myself look pretty brats; and you will be ok. ;)

When in need of a confidence boost with shorter straight Par 4's and typical Par 3's on a course in great condition try this course. This course 1-2 years ago was in transition and quite frankly a mess. Needed a boost in confidence and wow what a beauty. Greens were prime, fairways perfect and rough was lush. Green fee's can be pricey if you don't look for the deals. Golfnow is your friend.

Good course overall if it wasn't so far from anything I would entertain the idea of making a stop here every so often. My quick impression was it was a challenging course in a beautiful area if you're up for the drive (which is a gorgeous coastal excursion). Highlights were the ocean view (limited) and the views being in the trees. The greens, rough, fairways all in very good condition (not excellent but very good), they have good practice driving range (all grass seasonally) and a nice putting and chipping area. Customer service was very pleasant and worked with me on a Groupon "redo" when I had to leave at hole #2 when I got news of my wife going into labor. Lowlights include teebox's were terrible, the cart paths were treacherous once off the concrete. Besides getting lost to where I was supposed to be most of the time it was like going in a car with no suspension offroading. The carts were beat up and gas powered and got a headache smelling the fumes all day (electric please). Usually I walk but took a cart included in the Groupon I had. Overall I would recommend it if its a good price on Groupon or similar. The day to day green fees appeared pricey. Bodega Bay is just south and you get a lot more ocean views there and is in even better condition for the same if not cheaper price.

Played here not expecting to much lush green in a lot of areas being a drought etc. Course was pleasantly in good shape. Greens were near perfect. Challenging enough with a few water features that are actually halfway filled (not bad for the situation). Very nice practice area for range, putting green etc. Overall enjoyed my round and will be going back when I go back to Escondido area.

I grew up in Hidden Meadows... I played with my dad (now passed) as a kid here many times. Used to go out and play around on the fairways after hours. Went here after being away and living in the bay area for 8 years and not seeing the course for well over 10. 4 words.... what the f$&@ happened??? There were about 7 greens in good condition. Everything else was torn up... I mean everything. I think the kicker was stepping in dog $h!t on the 11th then having my ball literally land in a pile after the next hit. So that's basically the course description.... dog $h!t. So disappointed I went into borderline depression from the experience. I will say it is a drought year and they are working hard on getting it back... I've never seen a course in sadder condition than this one.

Wow what a beauty! What a great representation of Sonoma County with the Russian River near and redwoods surrounding you. Conditions were perfect in all aspects except for the sand which was a little hard (no big deal) from morning irrigation and light mist in between the beautiful redwoods. Fairly easy and straightforward course. My only complaint was that it was only 9 holes... I wanted more! A great course to check out if you're in the area.

Ok so I have a family member that loves to play here... fine. After my last experience I was like really? Can we go elsewhere? (refer to previous review). Surprisingly it was an entire different experience. The lushness, color of the grass in the fairways and greens were in great shape. Maybe they had an irrigation issue when I went last but i have to say for a shorter course i have to recommend this course now. It is short but fun and can assist one in their confidence as I don't think its extremely challenging. Greens are predictable and easier to read with a slow to medium pace. If your in the area go take a few swings.

Course is in great condition overall. Really no complaints. Like stated previously the greens are EXTREMELY fast and firm. They roll fairly true but some had me scratching my head wondering what the hell just happened. A few "donuts" around the holes made it maddening seeing your ball do the 90 degree turn at the hole and roll 8 ft away. Sand, Rough, Fairways all in great condition. Decent driving range (mats only), chipping and putting greens very nice. Overall great course and would love to go back.

When I want a quick game that I can get in and out with no problem with tee times this is the place I go. While not in the best condition especially with the greens; I feel like this is a great little course. Greens are pretty ugly with a few that are in decent shape and most have the old school smaller layout as this course is older. I do feel like for a course with questionable greens the ball rolls true (for the most part) maybe due to proper cutting etc. The fairways, rough are in good shape being lush and cut properly. There is a covered driving range with multiple levels, practice chipping/putting green and a practice pitching area. The highlight of this course is the views into the hills of redwoods and vineyards along with the challenge of incline/decline shots with all the hills. Pace of play is good and people that play there along with staff tend to be easy going which is welcomed over some of the uptight snooty courses. If you live in the area they do offer as absolute unlimited membership for $700-800 I think. It's a smoking deal as there are no limitations at all.

Starting with the good: facilities are new and nice, staff pleasant and professional. Range is nice but to short and you find on one of the fairways a lot of range balls. Overall the grass is lush and green. Fairways are in great condition. Now the bad: greens have to be the worst ever. Bumpy, weedy, marks and dead spots. What the hell?? awful... totally ruined play. The other complaint is the rough is way to long you will lose balls RIGHT in front of you. Im talking right off the fairway or on the side of the greens. Bring a lot of balls! I would try them again in another year when they get their greens up "to par"... hopefully.
