Played on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. We teed off around 6 a.m. and were done before 10 a.m. The course was in decent shape with the greens moderately fast and rolled true. The fairways were good but not great. Sand was in terrific shape - soft and fluffy. Tee boxes were average. Overall, a good course but somewhat pricey though we got a great deal from golfnow.com for $38 with cart. You can't beat that deal!

The only negative to our experience was the customer service. The young gentleman who was in the pro shop early that morning was quite rude and needs to learn some basic customer service skills. We didn't feel welcome at all and he didn't seemed interested with us - his customers! A friend asked a question and he just brushed it aside. I'm sure that if his supervisor was present he/she wouldn't have been too pleased how this employee handled us. It was just unacceptable.

I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident. We will be definitely be back because it was quite a fun and interesting course!

Played it a couple of weeks ago for the second time and fared quite better than the first time when I didn't know where to hit my shots especially on some of the blind approaches/shots on several holes.

Quite an interesting overall layout. I hardly had a level lie throughout my round. It is narrow and lined with trees on some holes but there are also a couple of fairly open holes where you can let it rip. The greens are fairly well designed and most of them had some moderate slope to them with a few very undulating greens that at times borders on being unfair. If they keep the greens in great shape, the greens could be very very challenging and fun to play. But unfortunately that day, it was rolling quite slow and very bumpy. Fairways were average and the sand was somewhat in better shape. Tee boxes were average.

Will play here again because the layout is quite fun and just hoping that the overall condition of the course will improve soon because this is one of the better LA county courses in terms of design and layout.

Played here for the first time last week and the overall layout was quite challenging and had fun playing it. There were some really, really great holes but at the same time there were also some really, really weak ones! The majority of the greens however were well designed though somewhat bumpy and uneven. The fairways were generally average to poor and the roughs were not well maintained.

I will probably play it again soon. I had a 7 am tee time for $30 with a cart and finished my round in 3.5 hours. Not bad considering we were following a twosome who were walking. Fun course and layout but average conditions at best.

Played River View as a single on a Thursday, 8/31/06. My tee time was around 7 a.m. and was finished around 10:35 a.m. The greens were definitely the best part of this golf course. It was in great shape, and it is mostly medium in size and has some moderate slope on most of them. The tee boxes are for the most part average, and the fairways were mostly good but not great. The sandtraps were poorly maintained and very hard. A short course with a quite interesting or maybe perhaps a unique (some might consider it bizarre) layout. It rans along a river bed and most of the tee boxes are elevated and you'll be hitting some of your approach shots to an elevated green. It was quite an experience. I'm still trying to find words to describe the course. But overall an average but quirky golf course.

Played Upland Hills Country Club on Friday, 9/1/06, and was extremely impressed with the overall condition of the golf course. The greens were great and the fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. My tee time was around 7 a.m. and to my great surprise, played by myself. I was following a twosome and another twosome was behind me. The round took 3.5 hours. It is a bit short but it has its challenges. Overall, a great course for the price. Highly recommended. I will definitely be back to play there again.
