played hv july 1. what an incredible golfing experience. far and away the best course that ive played in a long time. beautiful mountain like setting with dramatic elevation changes on most holes. a must to play the appropriate tee box for your skill level or it will be a long day looking for lost balls. looking forward to playing again. at 40 bucks this is a much better value than the retreat, eagle glen, cross creek or redhawk.
the course from tee to green in great shape, and the greens absolutely immaculate. A MUST PLAY!!!

I played the Oaks,Creek course the other day and had a good time. The reviewers comments are spot on. The Oaks is an awesome "traditional" style layout with lush green grass and mature trees. Tee to green was immaculate with very distinct holes and just a great 9.
The Creek is the weakest 9. (Having played the other 9 at an earlier date.) Having said that I enjoyed my first round on that 9. It reminded me of Rancho Park, or Wilson Park a little. I enjoyed shaping my tee shots both ways in order to find the middle of the fairway. The "Creek" refernce is kinda weak, cuz the only water that I remember was on the last hole, and it didn't really come into play.
Finally, they didn't seem busy at all, and I think they must be struggling with the economy, etc. Too many other nice courses for cheaper, but if the extra coin isn't an issue, the TCI, or Cross Creek are the way to go for Temecula golf.

played dos lagos Feb 21 for the first time. I had meant to go to Eagle Glen , which is just up the street, but decided to give dos lagos a try.
First off, as mentioned in previous posts, there is no clubhouse. There is a TRAILER and that is it.
I arrived around 830 Thursday morning and their were three cars in the lot. I wasn't sure they were open.
Green fees were 45.00, which I felt was reasonable. They certainly shouldn't charge anymore than that. The course was in better shape than I expected based on previous posts. The recent rains have started to bring the fairways back rather nicely. There is no rough to speak of, so missing the fairway is not penalizying at all.
I enjoyed the round. The greens were nice. Very undulating, and tough to putt. It had rained a few days prior, and the greens still had trouble holding approach shots as previously mentioned. It's best to run your shots up to the green. Another note worth mentioning is that there are 6 par threes. They did a great job with making the par threes very challenging and fun.
One knock I would mention is that IMO they should have added an extra set of tees in between the whites and blues. I played the blues, and the course is not long at all, except for three holes which are absolute monsters. I'm a 10 handicap, and my 240 yard drives put me in position for mid to short irons in on most holes, except for the few where I could not carry the hazards, etc. The blues measure 6500, and the whites only 6000. I would recommend this course, and will be back.

i played menifee/palms wed., jan 23. mainly as an afterthought. There were tourneys at Redhawk and Temeku, so menifee was a last minute decision.
The Palms course is the shorter and easier of the two layouts. I don't care for this one as much because you can't take driver off the tee all that often. However, with the wet weather that we have been having, the course played longer and was fairly enjoyable.
The previous posts about the groundskeeping, etc. are interesting. They were allowing carts on all fairways with very few restrictions. It should have been 90 degree rule at best. As a result, the fairways that were in pretty good condition were tracking alot of muddy golf tire tracks.
The bunkers were in good shape, with some soft sand. The rough was consistent, but not very penalizing. Finally, the greens were surprisingly nice. They rolled very true with decent speed considering the wet conditions.
All in all for the 39.00, menifee was a pleasant surprise. IMO they should spend a little more time in diligently roping off the beginning parts of the fairway, so people just don't drive right down the middle of the whole bleeping course.

I played "the ditch"May 31. I used to be a regular, but hadn't been there in about a year. What a great working man's course. I love the club house ambiance.
Teed off at 2:50 as a twosome. $27.00 twilight rate. No one there.
Shorecliffs is a very tight course. As usual , it was a little ratty around the edges of the rough. They still have not fixed the par 5 16th. There was a landslide that took out the blue tee box. They have you hitting off mats up by the red tees. It looks as if they are trying to fix up the course. There were a couple occasions where there was piles of dirt off to the side of the holes, but no one working. It baffles me that they don't put a little money into this course. It could be awesome.
That aside, the greens were spectacular. The fairways are very much like your standard muni. Some barespots here and there. If you are a better golfer looking to keep your game sharp, this is a great course.
I believe that is why this course gets beat up by reviews. The higher handicap player is going to lose a lot of balls. For the single or low double digit handicapper, this course is a true hidden gem.

Played sierra lakes feb. 7 with the donovan daily discount. 39 bucks plus a sleeve of balls. A great deal. This was my second time there and I had a great time. The course was in outstanding shape. The fairways and rough was green and lush. Absolutely no brown or dead grass like so many other courses in the area. The greens were equally good with fast undulating greens. There was some divot damage, mainly due to the fact that your ball will release to the back of the green on shots that are not flush. So the divot on the front of the green seldom gets fixed by the hacker that's chipping from behind the green!!
Overall a great golfing experience. Two minor complaints.... No cart girl was working that day, and the pace of play was slow. We mentioned to the starter at the turn if they could kindly send a marshall around to check things out. We never saw one!!!
Get there early on a day that's not overly windy, and you will have a great time.

i played landmark at hemet for the first time on wednesday, 12-21. I had heard the course was plush, with lots of green grass, and nice, smooth greens.
I teed off at 1100 with three seniors. This course is affiliated with a senior community. We finished in 4 hours, and had a great time. I played the tips, and at 6600 yards, I found myself using every club in my bag. A shotmakers golf course. The greens were smooth and undulating. KEEP YOUR BALL UNDER THE HOLE!!!
All in all, I would recommend this course, along with Diamond Valley, as two quality courses at a reasonable price of $35.00.

This is my second time playing pala mesa over the last several weeks. Awesome golf course. Tough and tight! I played the tips, and thoroughly enjoyed my rounds. I played afternoon golf, $29.00 after three p.m. Well worth the money.
I will be back!!!

I played Mar 22 for the first time in over a month. How DISAPPOINTING the greens are! I last posted in Feb that the greens on the front are in bad shape. Well I didnt see a decent green all day. I'm sorry, I like this course, from tee to green this is a beautiful golf course. THE GREENS ARE SHOT... Not only are they BUMPY, they are riddled with sand splotches. Very disappointing!!!!

I've played Trilogy three times now, the last time being Feb. 13. I like the golf course. It is a beautiful place to golf with very very nice views and some dramatic elevation changes to make you think about club selection. I would tend to agree with the "greenskeepers feedback" that the course isn't as challenging as a very good golfer would "demand" for a must play again and again. The course is short. The first two times I played here, I played the tips, this last time, I played the blues with some higher handicapped friends. The course is not long. I found myself hitting 5 wood off many blue tees. It's almost like they forgot to add the last set of tees that really would have made this an awesome track.
The greens are a touch disappointing, expecially on the front nine. Several of the greens are bumpy, sandy aerations that don't seem to be healing. I played with a "Trilogy resident" and he said that they have been having problems with the front nine greens for a long time. The grass just doesn't do well, he said. To be fair, the greens on the back are nicer, still not nearly as nice as Redhawk or Temeku Hills for that matter. In closing, look for a midweek, midday round, you will have the course to yourself. Bring a jacket!

Played Redhawk Feb 20, President's day. The course was not super busy for a holiday, and it was a fun day of golf.
First and foremost, Redhawk is an extremely TOUGH golf course. Do yourself a favor and play the appropriate tees for your skill level. It's not fun to watch your partners lose balls on every hole.
As for the course conditions, I would rate Redhawk a solid "8". Tee to green, the course was in very good shape. The sand traps were well kept with soft, but not too soft, sand. The greens were beautiful! Very few divots to be found, and iron shots stuck nicely.
I highly recomment Redhawk as a must play. Look for discounted rounds during the week. You shouldn't have to pay more than 40.00, and you'll probably be in a two or threesome.

played "the ditch" on saturday with the mens club. They block times every saturday for a blind draw scramble. Great mens club! The golf course is in good shape. Yes, it's a little straggly in spots, but the fairways were as nice as they've ever been. The greens were BEAUTIFUL! FAST and True. You will need every club in your bag to play here. A great test of golf. If you like to go bombs away with your driver, bring plenty of balls. There is trouble on every hole.
As mentioned before, the par 5 16th is playing from the red tees due to rain damage. Other than that, Shorecliffs is an incredible bargain.
