Played Wilson today and had a great time! It reminded me of some of the city courses back home in the Seattle area. The pace of play was slower like I am used to. (Not what I LIKE, just what I am used to) The fairways looked like they had just been cut but the grass was still a little more thick than my Seattle courses. There was not a whole lot of difference between the rough and fairway. A couple of the tee boxes were s little beat up but over all in pretty good shape. The greens were beat up with a LOT of unrepaired ball marks.

I could see myself playing this course all the time if I were an LA resident. Overall it was a very fun course and a great day for golf!

This is a solid little course. It is a lot more difficult than in may seem. Being right on the coast, there is always a bit of a wind, one to two clubs with or against. There are a bunch of little rolling hills and bumps around the course so if you are off the fairway, you will have some sort of uneven lie. The fairways were cut pretty nicely but not too short since it is still early in the season. The greens were in great shape. Putts roll smooth and straight which are always a help to scoring. There were just a couple of soft spots due to the amount of rain the Oregon coast has had lately.

Play for $35 in the off season. $75 in the summer for an early tee time and $35 in the afternoon.

Played Legion Memorial last Friday. The course was in really good shape. My dad and I played with another twosome in 3:30-3:45.

None of the tee boxes were chewed up and all were very level. The fairways were cut very nicely and rolling well. There were a few spots of hard dry surfaces due to the lack of rain the last couple months but over all in great shape!

The sand traps were pretty softer than I expected which gave me a few fits. (Yes, I hit 5 of them and finally hit good sand shots on the last two.) The rough was not too long. It was easy enough to hit long irons or even hybrids out of the rough and not lose too much distance.

The greens were the best muni greens I have played all year. Very good speed and absolutely smooth as can be. Other muni courses I have played had pretty beat up greens that you would have to hope for a good bounce to make consistent putts. Not here. If you hit a good putt it was a good putt.

While it was a tale of two 9s for me (46-40) I look forward to playing Legion a ton next year as I join their men's league. It is a great value for the course at $31 weekday and $24 early bird (which right now is before 7:30).

If you want to play a solid course for a great price, give Legion a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Played Battle Creek on Monday. Teed off before 8AM and got the early bird rate of $21 plus tax. This is a pretty nice course for the price. Typical Washington state golf with trees/forest lining every fairway. (I had to take TWO unplayables just into the trees with my ball finding unmarked drainage ditches. Only lost one ball though!) It has some dogleg holes that force you to lay up.

This is not a course you want to walk if you have leg problems or are out of shape. There are a lot of going up and down hills on this course. Two consecutive holes, 11 and 12 (the signature hole called "The Rock") can be killers. Eleven is straight up a hill. Twelve you hit over a ravine to a par 3 and then have to walk down into the deep ravine and back up the other side. The course reminded me some of Kayak Point with its layout.

The greens were in pretty good shape but long and slow. It seemed like a bunch of the pins that day were tucked pretty close to the edges of the greens. The fairways were well manicured but in some areas you could not tell the difference between it and the rough. There were a couple of tee boxes that were either sloped or mounded. Tee box on 17 was under repair so you had to hit off a mat. The course seemed well drained even with the rain we have been having. All in all the course was in good shape.

Overall, the course was worth the green fee and a fun little round. It has an ok balance of both challenging and easy holes. If in question, take a cart to get around the course.

Sorry for the late review. Played Snoqualmie Falls GC on Monday (6-18-12). Played in the rain for the first half of the round. It is not a difficult layout. Most of the holes are straight. There are 3 drivable par 4s on the back 9. Its not a terrible course but would have a hard time regularly paying $31 to play there in the summer. (This round was free from the Seattle Golf Show)

The greens were pretty smooth. The fairways seemed a little long. There was also not much of a difference from the fairway to the first (and most of the time only) cut of rough. The fairways are pretty wide open to leave some room for errant shots. There are a couple of narrow ones though.

All in all, it was an alright course. This would be one that I would use as a backup course if I could not get a tee time at some other choice locations.

Played Twin Rivers this morning. Not the best course but the price tag was great for my budget. $21 before 8AM. Not too busy either. I went off as a single at 7:40 and finished my round at 10:30. I never felt pushed and never got slowed down.

The course was in OK shape. The greens needed to be cut and were a little bumpy. They were also covered in dew and cotton from the cottonwood trees which made putting a little difficult on the front 9. The greens held pretty well. I was able to hold a 5I from 180 on them.

The fairways could have been cut a little shorter too. I don't remember any thin spots in the fairways. The rough was pretty think in areas but not unbearable. There were a couple of wet spots in the rough due to the tons of rain we had the last couple weeks.

The tee boxes were a little narrow on some tees as well as uneven.

All in all, it was a fun little course. It is not your super nice country club, do not expect that. But, if you want to get out for a quick round in the morning and do not want to pay a lot, Twin Rivers is a good option.

Played Mount Si this last weekend. It was a fun little course but having not played it in about 10 years I didn't know much about the layout. I hit quite a few shots that, ended up just behind trees that would jut out into the fairway or next to little water holes right in front of the green. This course is also a lot more narrow than other courses I have played.

It had been pretty dry for a while so the course was running pretty fast. The greens were extremely hard and difficult to get a ball to stop on them. There were still a few soggy spots on the course from the rain the week earlier, but not many of them even came into play.

All in all, it is a nice course. I had a free round coupon so that made it easier to enjoy the round. I would not play there on the weekend's because its about $45 and I am a budget golfer. I would play there again though.

Played the course on the 23rd of March after we had a lot of rain. Parts of the course drain really well while there are still some areas where water collects just off the fairways. Even my driver was plugging in the fairway and backing up.

It is a shot makers course. Only 3 par 5s on the course and, in the summer, two of the three are very easily reachable in two. A lot of short par 4s that I could not hit driver and a fair amount of lakes and ponds guarding fairways and greens (I happened to find them often).

Playing so early in the year, the greens were still cut a little long and, therefore, rolling slow and not always true. A typical city course that will play pretty well in the summer once the weather dries out a bit. All-in-all, the only terrible thing about the course was how I played.
