Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii! The greens were in great condition. A little soft but you would expect that (see the 1 dollar sign next to the course name up top). No courses in this price range has a 10 rating on the stimp meter. They all roll true - it's just your bad read. Really. Check out the $$$ courses these days and tell me if it was worth it. Conditions are generally dismal this time of the year. On the contrary El Prado does a fairly good job in maintaining course condition throughout winter.
Paid $85 to play past sat. Horrible, horrible course condition right now. Dry, spotty fairways and roughs, lots of areas around the greens that are either damaged or unplayable (sure you get a free drop, but...), and rock-hard bunkers. Many greens are well protected by bunkers. If I'm not mistaken, there are roughly 70-80 bunkers. So needless to say they can come into play quite frequently. Well then, keep them playable!!! The greens however were fine - they just aerated a few weeks ago. I'd like to have a chat with the superintendent, reminisce about the good old days with carpet-like fairways, plush sand... and ask him if HE would pay $85 to play in these conditions. No wonder replay is only $5. I hope they restore soon.
Vegas golf in July - if you're lucky you can catch a bit cooler weather (cooler being sub 100 degrees) and play spectacular courses at ridiculously low prices. Snow Mountain was spectacular. The service is top notch. Course condition was near perfect - how do they do that in 100+ degree summer? There isn't 30-40mph wind in the summer - I'm sure that applies in the winter season. The course is a fun track where you actually enjoy golf, as opposed to those elite courses with 150 course / 75 slope rating where you compliment the scenice view while feeling miserable about your golf game.
Played 6/10. The course is in great condition; I've seen its greens faster but no complaints. Removed the big tree that used to guard the front right side of the green on #4, but pulled my shot left anyway. Weekend green fee is now up to $71! Wasn't it $55 just 2-3 years ago? I'm not complaining about the $ amount, but the rate of increase. And they haven't "enhanced" the course in any way. Must be the gas price. Guess the carts do run on gas. What, they're electric carts? Right, because they also raised green fees for walkers. The cows next door must've kept their fiber intake to a minimum - barely smelled it. Will play again - if somebody pays for me. Slow down, Goose Creek.
Haven't played here for a few years. I found the course it great shape when I played here recently on a tournament outing. Greens were in perfect condition for this course. I've heard that the course spent some $$ renovating (or was it to just fix "problems"), and it shows, I think. Nice layout; the scenary is great on some holes. Challenging but yet not too hard. If they can just lower the weekend green fee just a teeny bit... Now I remember why I haven't been here in a few years.
Played for the first time last saturday, don't think they've begun aerating the greens yet. But greens were in good condition - quite slick for a muni course (is it?). Strategically placed tree lines... must be because I kept hitting my drives into them. Are tree branches also strategically grown? My iron shots kept hitting them, too. I don't know why everyone says this course is slow; our group never ran into the group in front of us. The best part: GPS! Never seen one at a muni course before. Will be back.
Played on President's Day - the course wasn't charging holiday/weekend rate! how awesome is that! but boy was it crowded - how did they all find out??? First time playing. Played from the back tees. Not as initimidating as I was told. A few near-90-degree doglegs, which I'm not a fan of - what's the point? Keep it straight and the course isn't that tough. But if you can't, bring lots of extra balls. Beautiful scenery, great condition, not so great score. The staff is first-class. Will be back to tame the course next time!
Played super twilight at 2pm on a Sunday for $17. Not bad at all. Especially after the rain damage early last year, I like the Riverside course mich better than the Orange course (some holes shortened to ridiculous lengths and layouts). Conditions were ok. The wind is always a factor here. Not sure if worth the regular weekend green fee, but for twilight rates, it's a nice track. The starters are always friendly.
Not a bad course for the price. To keep up with modern times, it'd be nice if it were a bid longer (right now at 6100yds). Several blind tee shots. Well not totally blind, but you don't know where your ball lands and how far to hit it without surpassing dogleg cutoffs... Greens were in pretty good condition. Friendly staff, especially in the cafe.
This course was in surprisingly good condition. Probably gets less traffic than its counterpart, Chino Creek. Greens were in great condition. I play El Prado quite often and am beginning to prefer the Butterfield course over usually more popular Chino Creek. Fun track, and the length from the back tee is just right.
This course used to have immaculate condition, especially its greens - the quality has deteriorated over the last several months. I heard it's under new management, who seemingly is more interested in marketing efforts (i.e. coupons on internet) than course maintenance, which is dissapointing...
