This course is a $50 course at best. Sand traps are either thin or dirt. Greens are horrible, too thick, slow and with fungus. Fairways are thin, rough is inconsistent. OC golfers have low standards for what they get for $120, because it seems always be busy. For the money, Oak Creek is twice the course.

I played Feb 1 ~10AM and the course is in the best shape I've played it in the past 10+ yrs. I used the $49 greenskeeper coupon. I didn't print and bring it with me but the guy at the pro shop was so awesome. He said to email to him and he'd print it out. Awesome customer service!!!

Greens were perfect, pace of play was 4.5hrs. There are occasional thin or bare patches on the fairways and the rough can be inconsistent but compared to how this course can get during drought (and for $49), I shouldn't be complaining.

The bunkers are not consistent. Some are very thin and hard and others have nice fluffy sand. There were also two or three greens that were also inconsistent with the others but other than these minor complaints, the course is in great shape.

Tee'd off at with glow in the dark balls they sell for $9 at the pro shop. Sunrise was at 7 and by then we barely made it to the 3rd hole after losing two of those balls. The stars were about as bright as I've seen them in LA, but other than being able to make out the big dipper at 6am, there was nothing to enjoy about teeing off an hour before sunrise.

Plan on 5 1/2+ hour rounds, but this course is still completely worth it for nothing else but the gorgeous pacific views. The greens are nice soft and true but the rest of the course and especially the patchy roughs need a break.
