Wow, was this course packed with people! However, despite the crowds, only got off 10 minutes late. 5 hour round, which was actually better than I expected. Course was in decent shape, nothing great, but decent. Greens were quicker than they looked. I rarely play here anymore. My biggest complaint is their changing #9 to a 4 par. Much better as a short 5 par.

Chance to finish the front with a birdie or at least a par, rathet than struggling to make a par. Also miss the trees which framed # 13.

Teed off a little after noon on Saturday. Greens were exceptional for Chester. Not quite as fast as the practice green but still fairly fast and generally rolled true. They were firmer than usual. The fairways were also generally in good shape with some bare spots. Not a lot of sand in the traps; they were consistent. Tee boxes were only average. Overall, the course is in better shape than the last few times I played there. The pace of play was not so good (about 5:15). The course staff was professional. Tough playing off the waiting list because it is so crowded.

Played on 8/21/10, the course is the best I've seen a lot of years... perhaps in part to a celebrity tournament... I know there was at least 3 ex-NFL players... one was Jerry Rice... the other 2 are also big names but I'm not a football fan so the names elude me. I don't know how long the course will be kept up in this condition but definitley a great time to play this course. With a tournament in front of us I thought it would play really slow plus it was a Saturday... it did take a little over 5 hours to play but it was one of the smoothest 5 hour rounds I've played... we didn't have to wait on any tees and the group in back of us lagged back enough that they never waited on us or pressed us... we were in a perfect window. A small mishap that occurred was in the proshop... the computers went down... a number of golfers were upset because they couldn't check or make tee times, they couldn't even sell range balls... and another tournament going off later were not happy that they couldn't hit a warm up bucket. Even with running a bit behind, it was still one of the best rounds I've had there because the course was in great shape... we liked it so much that we're trying to get a tee time for this Saturday, a little late in the week to get one but I'm hoping that we will get lucky on a cancelation. I'm hoping that they try to keep this course up to these conditions... if they can do it for a special event they have the ability to do it all the time.

Many Koreans play here who do not fix their ball marks, or rake the bunkers. The course is in decent shape and not a bad value with online deals.
The starter sends out as many players as possible which causes a severe back up on the second tee (par 3, and most groups do not wave up).
Time saving tip: Don't stop for a drink/snack after the 9th hole. Continue to the 10th tee. There is a snack shop and restrooms next to the 11th tee. If you stop after the 9th, you might lose your position.

Played as a 3 some on 6/6 Sunday morning with a 5:08 tee time. Arrived, check in and was told that we will be starting on the 2nd tee due to being a pre-dawn tee time. The website I booked with never mentioned that. We played the 1st hole anyway since nobody was around. Upon reaching the 10th tee, we notice there is group waiting to tee off. It ends up being the last group of the back nine players that morning. They were letting players tee off until 7am!!! Complete BS! Round ended up taking 4 hours plus instead of the 3.5 if should have taken. I complained at the pro shop and the kid there said something like "yeah somebody is supposed to call once the reach a certain hole so we know to stop letting groups off the back". yeah right, they were just trying to get away what whatever they could. I asked for the manager and he was nowhere to be found. Very, very poorly managed course. I will never return......

Played March 7. Greens ARE BUMPY. They do not roll well and you really shouldn't expect a lot from them. Just point your club at the hole, pray and hopefully by some divine intervention your ball should find the hole well then you have God as your copilot. Pace of play was good. I am thinking everyone was expecting rain which did happen around hole 9. It was brief but then winds kicked up. Must remember that winds do this in this part of town. Fairways in good shape. Rough is thick and bushy but spotty in places. Tee boxes some were unlevel and patchy. Pace of play was great for Sunday twilight. Finished 18 holes in around 4.5 hours. I wish to apologize to the 3some that walked with us (we rode). We pushed them hard that by the 17th I could see effects of fatique. It was hurry up and hit for us and that is with us quickly trailing a fivesome in carts.

As usual, tee'd off nearly 1/2 late. I can't remember the last time I played here and got off on time. The course was in surprisingly nice condition, particularly the fairways, the best I can recall them being. Greens were just OK. Playing here from the "tips" makes this course a reasonable challenge.

This course plays a little easier now with less trees. The size of the well guarded greens are this courses main defense. Especially today as I could not hold a wedge shot from the fairway on these firm sneaky fast greens. If you have greens this small it is best that they can hold an approach reasonably well. But, for a crowded 25$ course it is overall in good shape.

Played 12/6/09. This golf course is in great shape for a muni. I didn't play well but if i would have played better I would have enjoyed it alot more. Played here a couple years ago and the greens are alot faster now than they used to be. For as bad as my score was i had a great experience. Definitely worth the green fee. Especially if walking.
