So after my dream weekend of playing Trump and Bel Air CC on back to back days, it was back to reality today but I'll try my best to not let those experiences affect the way I review D-Bar. Walked up as a single and 7:50am and was sent right to the first tee to join 2 other singles. Course was pretty much the same as it always is. LA County winter muni conditions. Greens were the highlight. Smooth and rolling true, med-fast with lots of break. Everything else was 5/10. Mixed grasses of varying degrees of life in the fairways and rough. Bunkers were somewhat thin with some rocks. Tee's were ok although quite firm and tough to get a tee in on some holes.Got lucky today as POP was 3.75 hours walking for $27. Course is forgiving off the tee but trees line the holes to catch any wayward shots. Not much in the way of trouble and an easy course to walk. Recommended for that golf fix but beware POP is usually an issue here as well as noise from the adjacent 60 freeway.

The course was over watered and had wet spot every where . You could see golf cart tire tracks on every fairway . Now that winter time is coming they need to cut back on watering . I had mud on my ball all day long . We played winter rules because of the mud . That was the only bad thing I saw on the course , to wet .

Played today, Sunday 9/15, at about 8:30 am. It was a team play event and the course had us moving. The marshals were active on the course keeping watch and proving much needed water. The restrooms in the clubhouse were out of order so they had porti-potties set up outside. I had breakfast in the restaurant and the staff was pleasant and efficient.

The course was in pretty good shape. The guys we were playing had not played Diamond Bar before and they expressed pleasant surprise at the conditions and layout. There were bare spots in the fairway but otherwise they were lush. The rough was fairly thick. The only bunker I was in was one fairway bunker and it was thin. Others were in the greenside bunkers but did not say there were any problems.

The greens were pretty good. Medium fast. There were some bumps but they largely rolled true. Fun layout and I would go back. The 5 hour pace of play was okay. I have seen it worse there.

Golfed on 6/14 with 8:00 tee time.

First time golfing there. 2 or 3 holes on the back nine, the fairway had bare spots or being fixed. Other than that, the course is well maintained.

Played Saturday morning with a 6:20 tee time. POP was slow that made for 5+ hour round. Waited on every tee on the front, they play fivesomes but there was a mixture of 3,4 and fivesomes in front of us. This muni gets a lot of play and the tee boxes were beat up, fairways were a little on the thin side and sand traps were in good shape. Greens were lush and running at a good speed, severe ball marks on every green. $36 to walk on a weekend. 6800 yards from the tips and #9 and #18 are tough holes.

Played in a team match play event on Sunday, April 28. We teed off about 8:15, only a few minutes late. The pace of play was outstanding considering the time of day we started. About 4.5 hours. Overall, the conditions were good. Some of the tee boxes were not level and there were bare spots. The fairways were relatively lush. I did not land in any bare spots. The rough was a factor - it seemed thicker on the front nine than on the back. The sand was okay in the one bunker I landed in. My playing partner said there was not much sand in another one. It looked like mud flying out after he hit. I have seen the greens better. One half was punched about a month ago and one half was punched two weeks ago. The more recent aeration was still evident and the greens were slower and softer on that side. The recovered half was firm. The greens were bumpy on both sides. They still putted well but short downhill putts were an adventure.

I like the layout. The staff was cheerful, the cart girl came around several times and the polish dog at the turn was great. As LA County courses go, it is in the upper tier right now.

I heard that they were going to close down this course so I wanted to revisit. While certainly not always in the best condition, I found the areas around the greens to be so thin, it was so tight, like chipping off mud - very tough! The greens were the best part of the course - very nice. Fairways and rough need much attention. Bunkers were hit or miss

The pace of play was brutal! After teeing off 20 min late, it took well over 5 1/2 hours to complete the round. WHY ? There is nothing about this course which should cause such slow play. No forced carries - no real hazards to lose balls, no trees to speak of. Just not a lot of fun to crawl around at a snails pace, and I'm too old to keep focus for that long !

Played Saturday 5/19. The greens were recently aerated. No notice given on the maintenance. It made a very difficult time putting as the greens are very bumpy and slow. I would like to play here again... Continue »

Played Saturday 5/19. The greens were recently aerated. No notice given on the maintenance. It made a very difficult time putting as the greens are very bumpy and slow. I would like to play here again after the other half is aerated and the greens have recovered.

Noise from freeway catches you off guard at first, but if you don't think about it and just play, you'll be fine. Started about 15 minutes late and it took just over 5 1/2 hours to play.
