played on 3-17. Practice green is in perfect shape, the course greens is a bit bumpy. Overall the course conditions is typical city muni shape. Got lucky and finish the round in less than 4 and 1/2 hours. Starter told me that 3-4 groups cancel around my tee time. The round would of been alot faster but hole 12 par 3 220 yards straight into the wind was backed up. No wave ups today.

Played Sunday, day after the rain - gorgeous weather! Good customer service from Pro Shop. Lucky that we were Four some. But the Pace of play very slow as usual for weekends at muni - 5hrs 40minutes. Saw marshall only once at the 1st Tee; if strict marshall was on the course, we could have asked the marshall to get the group ahead of us to play faster. Other than that enjoyed the golfind day and the company I played with.

I played early wed am as the 4th group out and finished a little under 4 hours walking. The greens and sand are in the best shape I've ever seen it. What a difference in playing this course in the am versus pm. The wind is down and the pace is fast. The fairways were a hit and miss but the greens rolled true (minus number 3). Great value to walk for 25 on a weekday!

We had a Open Golf Tournament with 75 man field, I won the over all championship. The course is beautiful and perfect. Thanks for the tips...

I have a nickname for this course -- Lakepoop. Geez, with so many geese and coots, some of the fairways and tee boxes are littered with poop. We usually walk the course, so our shoes and golf cart wheels are dredged in that stuff. This is so unsanitary and very unhealthy, especially since we have to pick up the ball on the putting green and again when we tee it up. Can you imagine your child playing in that stuff all day? Gross!!! The six-hour rounds are unacceptable. If all the men who have a handicap higher than a 12 would tee off from the whites at EVERY course, that would help immensely in faster play. We followed a fivesome of men yesterday, all of whom teed off from the blues. None were in the fairways, and their drives did not justify them teeing off from the blues. It is ridiculous to have to wait a few minutes to hit every shot, especially on weekday!!

Yes, #3 is under repair and a bit shaggy, but the front 9 has always been a bit weak compared to the backside. Can't say I agree with Chillax247's comments but the course does play slow if you tee off past the morning times ... just gotta roll with it. I play it about once a year but for the price, it's worth a look.

Played 8/14. weekends crowds and SIX hours to finish the course. No marshall on site. Nobody waved on all PAR 3 holes (yes,our group did waved the group behind us). Hole #3/Par 3, the green's condition is Mess! Played the course month ago and they still have not repaired the green. No fun once you land on the green in one shot (reminder, this was Par 3 hole). Many tee areas are on dirt only no grass area. This time condition of this course was very disappointing and SIX hours to finish 18 holes added very bad experience!! Will not return to play for a while... next year maybe.

I can't believe I'm going to say this....but Lakewood Country Club is in great condition right now. I refused to play here due to the pace of play but made an exception recently and boy was I impressed. The tee boxes were lush, fairways were hard and ran fast, and most importantly, greens were fast and true (minus 3rd hole)!

The course is long but flat. Many walkers out here and I can't wait to get out there again. I pray it won't be 6.5 hrs though!

Played on 7/16/10. Tee'd off at noon and walked off the 18th green at 6:00, yes a 6 hour round on a Friday afternoon. Three of the four Par 3's took 30 minutes each to play with no fewer than 3 groups waiting at the tee at any time. Course was in the worse shape I have seen it in a long time. The fairways look like they could use LOTS of water, they are a mixture of brown and green grass and very thin. Greens wer good on some and very poor on others, with the Par 3 third being the worse. The traps are thin at best. The rough is patchy, with long and short grass.
I wish I knew what happened to this course, but Lakewood Country Club should be ashamed of it's self.
it took me less time to drive from Paramount to Goose Creek, play a relaxed round, and drive home again, then it did to play the round at Lakewood.
