Went out to play here again monday Jan. 6 Walked on around 8:15 and got straight out to the tee.
Not much has changed here since I was here last month except they have lost several large trees I assume from the recent wind and rain. One of the largest trees on the property was down across the 10th fairway and the crews were in the process of cutting and hauling it away.
They also have brand new carts. No GPS but they do have a USB port.
Tee boxes are a little beat up and the fairways are a little thinner than last month. There are a few soggy/wet areas but overall I had decent lies.
A couple of bunkers had standing water and others looked a little wet.
Greens were real good and hard to putt if you end up above the hole.
Overall a fun course in decent winter shape.

Played my first 18 hole round since Jan. today. The course was in typical winter condition with some soft spots and some bare spots in the fairways. This place has a mixture of different grasses and weeds for the fairways and the rough is about the same, just a little longer.
Never had a bad lie guess i was just lucky.
Tee boxes were level and not beat up.
I was in one fairway bunker and it had decent sand but did have some medium sized rocks mixed in.
Greens were the highlight of the course being in good shape with very few pitch marks. These greens have a lot of back to front slope and some very subtle breaks that are hard to read.
Overall I enjoy this track and have never had a round where you have to wait on every shot. Played as a threesome today and finished in 4:15.

Played on Sunday 11/24/19. I always enjoy this course no matter the condition for the serenity and scenery. If you've played here before you know that it is a haven for deer and squirrels. Anyway, on to the course. I was pleasantly surprised that the greens were in great shape and at a fair speed for this place. If they are too fast, it can become ridiculous when you are above the hole on most of the greens. (That's my tip for the day) The fairways are decent with a few bare spots. The rough is not difficult. The sand traps need some work and the tee boxes are currently over seeded on more than half the holes. Nice to see management making the effort to smooth them out. Also, my lower back thanks you for putting in those new cart paths. haha
POP on Sunday was 4.5 hours and I had a fun time enjoying the peace and quiet at MC.
For the record, just after a heavy rain, this place can get a little soggy. So wait a week or so.

First off at 6:15am in the dark. I really enjoy playing this course, as I enjoy all the deer on the course, the scenic views, trees, just a nice park like setting. The conditions can be a bit disturbing because some of the greens are good, others just so-so. Having played here many times, it sure helps to understand how these greens break. Fairways were a mix of dried out and soaked ??? Same with the rough, some thin, some so thick, very easy to lose your ball, worse than U S Open rough !

Being first off we had no pace of play issue on the front nine, but ran into a six-some (That's right, a 6 some) on #13, so had to skip a hole to get around them. Otherwise no problems. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and for $15.75, what a deal !

Played here 9/1/19 with a 7:07am tee time. Course was fairly busy so my friend and I asked starter if we could start on #10. He allowed us to and we were able to finish all 18 in 3.5 hours. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all are in great shape 8/10. Sand was a little firm on the course 6/10 Rough wasnt very good. Way too long and you had to look forever to find a white, green or red ball. It took us forever sometimes to find a ball 2 feet off the fairway. They need to cut it down. Staff was friendly and saw the cart girl once. Price was $50 but apparently they raised their prices $2 starting in September.

Played 8/7/19. Marshall Canyon would have been a lot more fun if it weren't for some very slow play by a fivesome, Overall the course is in Summer conditions. Some bare spots where the sprinklers don't reach and some over watered greens and tee boxes, But it's hot, so understand over watering. The greens are very receptive to iron shots in. But as usual the kikuia green fronts make you pay if your'e short. Always like seeing the wildlife. Fairways were mostly lush enough to get shots off. The rough is always a mix mash of different things here. Thin some places and long and straggly in others. But it was a great day to be out playing.

I read my last review just couple of weeks ago and can not believe I wrote that review ! What happened ? The course in just two weeks has changed ?? The greens were slow and bumpy, fairways while still somewhat lush were "spotty" Traps not well maintained ? It just is not the same course. I know that makes no sense, but it's true.

I like this course, so it is difficult for me to be so critical, but conditions have taken a turn for the worse. Still a deal at $15.75, and it's still fun with nice vistas, and lots of wildlife, but the course just felt scruffy today. (And not because I played poorly which I did) Maybe some heat/sun will rejuvenate this place ? Hope so !

Another very enjoyable round at Marshall Canyon. The course is probably in the best shape I have seen it, and certainly better than when I last played in during the winter. (Plus it was not 31 degrees out today, which was the temperature when I last played here) While I do not believe the course warrants an 8.8 rating as posted in the prior review, it certainly has greatly improved.

A combination of fun holes, beautiful scenery, wildlife, and a very accommodating staff make this one of my "go to courses" and for $15.75 - WOW ! If I lived closer I would play here every month.

Played here 4/19/19 with a 6:22am tee time. P.O.P for my friend and I was 4 hr. Fairways are lush and green, sandtraps were amazing! New sand in most of the traps made them nice! Greens were great! Course is an excellent condition. The Par 3 tee boxes had some divots in all the boxes but other than that everything was green, smooth and perfect! We paid $40 and I would have paid $60 for the conditions it was in! I was impressed!
