Played here Saturday 6/28. We had a 12:21 tee time, but didn't get out until 12:50 due to lack of golf carts - there was a tournament in the morning and had to wait for carts to come in from the course. The tee boxes were a bit hacked up (except at the red tees). The greens were a disaster of unrepaired divots and old divot scars, and some were soft, squishy and slow while others were dry and fast, all of which made putting pretty difficult. Overall, I enjoyed the layout of the course, with the doglegs and bunker placement, and found it a nice challenge in course management.

Played 06/23 - Monday. I played Lakewood on Sat and by comparison, this course is beautiful. Love the layout. Serveral blind dogleg holes but they are very forgiving. Bunkers, GREAT!. I haven't had sands like that for quite some times. Nice and soft. Overall greens are good. 1st hole green has many ball mark damages. Very well placed hole placement on most of the greens. Eventhough this course is not long as Lakewood, but it has many good bunkers and well placed greens. Green fees are bit higher than normal but it's OK. We enjoyed the course and will definitely will return. Customer services are OK. Didn't see a cart girl all day... maybe because it was Monday.

It was a beautiful day, weather perfect, father in-law out with us celebrating Father's Day weekend. But over 5.5 hours to play? Allowing fivesomes should be banned at all courses! It ruined what otherwise was a nice day out with great company.

Watch out for the sand traps- sand quality needs to be improved. Bone dry on the top layer, mud underneath.

I decided to give this course another try. The good thing was I was able to get on without waiting. This and the pace were the good thing.

The bad: Greens were sanded so the putts were very slow. The sand and wet greens made the ball slow down big time. Putting was basically hit and hope. Wait a couple of days for the greens to recover.

Played here today- Ah the joys of mid week golf. Love it- Great pace never waited on any hole whatsoever. The greens are fully healed from airiation and were smooth and fairly quick. Its just unreal that people dont repair ball marks which pock scarred most of the holes. Didnt really affect the trueness of the greens though. The fairways were in very nice shape, not too green looking but extremely playable- Need to make sure you leave yourself on the right level on your approaches to the green or a 3 put is very possible on these greens with some of the flag locations- fun day

Simply stated, the best condition I have ever seen Skylinks .... period! Using the coupon from the LA Times, only $25. While Skylinks is not my favorite Long Beach course, I must admit that today I had a very enjoyable round. Nice condition, nice weather and a reasonably quick round (For Skylinks)

waitied as a single for 2 1/2 hours, then waited twenty minutes to tee off, why do hackers play from the wrong tees? Group in front was horrible, very slow and playing from the blue tees. All five drove the ball 100 yards, then hit it maybe another hunderd yards. They all took about five strokes to get on the green. We got to the second tee and there was a four group wait, it was like that for the whole round. Thank GOD for the Ipod i brought or else I would have gone crazy. Teed off 12:30 finished nine holes by 4:15. Back nine was no better, finished 18 at 6:45. Was a nice six hour round, thanks american golf.

Played early on 5/3. Green were still recovering from aeration. As is typical here, the pin placements on some holes were unfair - at the edge of slopes. Fairways in pretty good shape. The sand, which unfortunately I was able to sample quite a bit, was inconsistent. My rant though was the group in front of us. They complained to the starter that two groups from the list were put out before them because they had things to do later. I played in the fourth group right behind them. They were a hole behind after 2. They were teeing off on 12 when the first group, a five some, was teeing off on 16. Five hour round trailing their slow play.

The greens are punched but they did it a bit different compared to the normal way... last month they punched half of every green and then punched the other half of every green two days ago. So that the pins are all on the half of the green that is playable, still a bit bumpy but not a bad deal for $33 with the email special (cart is extra). We had such a good time yesterday that we're going back today!
