Great layout and course. Only gripe is that there are no yardage stakes and unless you have a cart with the GPS on it, then you will be like me and hunting for sprinkler heads to find yardage estimates. Tee boxes aer outstanding, and greens are good. Rough is nice and fluffy and easy to hit high lofted wedges out of. Fairways are good, but grass is a bit dormant. I scored better than I usually do, so I like the course :) Just add some yard markers!

First time playing at Skylinks. I played on 01/18/09 with a tee time at 8am and actually teed off on time. The round lasted about 4 1/2hrs for our 5some so it was a nice pace. Course was nice with green fairways. The rough was not that tall so it was not bad to hit out of. The bunkers were in good shape with nice sand ( I should know I landing in about half of them). The greens were a little slow early in the morning because they were still damp from the morning dew but sped up as they dried out. The greens were nice except for too many ball marks. I don't blame the course for this but rather the inconsiderate golfers with no apparent green etiquette. Overall the course was nice but not nice enough for the high fees. This course does not warrant a weekend fee of $71 w/cart. Luckily I have Long Beach resident card and was discounted to $58 w/cart. Lakewood golf course down the road is comparable but only $46 w/cart. The only difference is Lakewood can get crowded. Probably because of the cheaper fee.

Played 1/10 as a last minute thing. Was pleasantly surprised I got on twenty minutes after i put my name on the waiting list. It was a good round. Got out with a two some. The grass on the rough and fairways have gone dormant because of the cold. turned out to be a very good day. Greens were good, fairways alright, rough yellow, bunkers some with sand others dirt. Pace was 4 to 4.5 hours. Must be the 56 to walk that kept people out.

Played Friday, Jan. 2nd. Tee off at 9:40 and it took 5.5 hours to play. Way too long but expected considering it was a Friday after a holiday. Don't be fooled by the Bent grass greens. They look medium/fast but are slow. The roll is decently smooth but could be better. The Bermuda fairways are dormant, brown, and thin. They are very playable you will just have tight lies. The rough is also dormant and about an inch. Tee boxes and sand traps are in good shape.

Most fairways provide room off the tee but there are some well placed fairway bunkers. The challenge to this course is around the greens. Most greens are elevated, undulating, and well bunkered.

I have only played here twice since the rebuild because I feel the green fees are too high for non-residents of Long Beach ($58.50 w/ cart Mon-Fri). Although new carts with GPS are a nice feature. I would play here more if I could play at Long Beach resident rates ($48 Mon-Fri).

Overall the I enjoy playing the course and the staff was friendly and efficient managing the crowd.

As bradleycoop said, tee boxes for black and blue were under repair so white/blue tee markers were together for most holes. This was my first time playing Skylinks and I enjoyed it. I think their fairways are in better shape and use a grass that I am unfamiliar with but it allows for the ball to sit up nice. The course was wet due to overnight rains so some collection areas were soaked. Sand traps also had moisture as well.

I enjoyed the course and played 18 holes in less than 3.5 hours on Election Day afternoon. Next time I will walk the course. I would recommend this course to the 18 handicappers of the world since there is little trouble on this course. However, $40 for greenies at twilight seems high.

I don't play skylinks that much anymore because the course isn't worth the fee. However I played there today because I couldn't walk on at lakewood. The course was in very good shape, fairway, greens, sand, and rough all seemed in good shape and much better than down the street at El Do or Lakewood (which is normally not the case). Only complaint besides the greenfee was that the tee boxes weren't the best.

First time playing here since the renovation a couple years ago. Pretty much all the previous reviews are accurate, especially the conditions of the greens ... so many ball marks (not to be confused with divots which is what you make when you swing a club) that it made the experience a bit depressing. Otherwise, the course layout is pleasant with many parallel fairways in decent condition and some water hazards. The rough could be a bit deep in some areas which was challenging. Nice new carts w/GPS. A bit high price for what you get: I'd prefer ED or Rec in the LB area for the money.

played early am on a saturday...first trip to course and was very enjoyable layout...tight bermuda fairways...considerable ball mark damage and/or repairs on many greens was detriment to overall conditions which were good...arrived as single at 6:00am and was on course at 6:15 play was steady probably 4 1/2 hrs... i will definitely try to play here again in future

The ONLY bad thing is the absurdity of having to wait for a FIVESOME to putt out. The reviews about ball marks on the green are true and its really sad that people just don't repair their ball marks. If this course used marshals to reprimanded the idiots who don't fix their balls it would really be in great shape. In spite of that the greens are pretty good. Overall the round wasn't too long for a Sunday and we didn't get stuck with a fifth (we had a foursome). Certainly it wasn't a 6 hour round. I'll play their again. Fun track.
